Mc 4, 1-20
En aquel tiempo, Jesús se puso a enseñar otra vez junto al lago, y se reunió una muchedumbre tan grande, que Jesús tuvo que subir en una barca; ahí se sentó, mientras la gente estaba en tierra, junto a la orilla. Les estuvo enseñando muchas cosas con parábolas y les decía:
“Escuchen. Salió el sembrador a sembrar. Cuando iba sembrando, unos granos cayeron en la vereda; vinieron los pájaros y se los comieron. Otros cayeron en terreno pedregoso, donde apenas había tierra; como la tierra no era profunda, las plantas brotaron enseguida; pero cuando salió el sol, se quemaron, y por falta de raíz, se secaron. Otros granos cayeron entre espinas; las espinas crecieron, ahogaron las plantas y no las dejaron madurar. Finalmente, los otros granos cayeron en tierra buena; las plantas fueron brotando y creciendo y produjeron el treinta, el sesenta o el ciento por uno”. Y añadió Jesús: “El que tenga oídos para oír, que oiga”.
Cuando se quedaron solos, sus acompañantes y los Doce le preguntaron qué quería decir la parábola. Entonces Jesús les dijo: “A ustedes se les ha confiado el secreto del Reino de Dios; en cambio, a los que están fuera, todo les queda oscuro; así, por más que miren, no verán; por más que oigan, no entenderán; a menos que se arrepientan y sean perdonados”.
Y les dijo a continuación: “Si no entienden esta parábola, ¿cómo van a comprender todas las demás? ‘El sembrador’ siembra la palabra.
‘Los granos de la vereda’ son aquellos en quienes se siembra la palabra, pero cuando la acaban de escuchar, viene Satanás y se lleva la palabra sembrada en ellos.
‘Los que reciben la semilla en terreno pedregoso’, son los que, al escuchar la palabra, de momento la reciben con alegría; pero no tienen raíces, son inconstantes, y en cuanto surge un problema o una contrariedad por causa de la palabra, se dan por vencidos.
‘Los que reciben la semilla entre espinas’ son los que escuchan la palabra; pero por las preocupaciones de esta vida, la seducción de las riquezas y el deseo de todo lo demás, que los invade, ahogan la palabra y la hacen estéril.
Por fin, ‘los que reciben la semilla en tierra buena’ son aquellos que escuchan la palabra, la aceptan y dan una cosecha: unos, de treinta; otros, de sesenta; y otros, de ciento por uno”.

so that he got into a boat on the sea and sat down.
And the whole crowd was beside the sea on land.
And he taught them at length in parables,
and in the course of his instruction he said to them,

and the birds came and ate it up.
Other seed fell on rocky ground where it had little soil.
It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep.
And when the sun rose, it was scorched and it withered for lack of roots.
Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it
and it produced no grain.
And some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit.
It came up and grew and yielded thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.”
He added, “Whoever has ears to hear ought to hear.”

But to those outside everything comes in parables, so that
they may look and see but not perceive,
and hear and listen but not understand,
in order that they may not be converted and be forgiven.”

Meditacion:
Creo que si tomamos los cuatro evangelios, la parabola del sembrador es donde se concentra una vision de lo que deberia ser la vida de un misionero.
Un misionero siembra, hace suya con su vida las palabras del evangelio y no hay mucho mas que pueda hacer. Pasa sembrando y espera que el Espiritu Santo haga su parte. A algunas personas les servira para cambiar y seguir a Jesus, otras no estaran listas y tal vez deba pasar aun mas tiempo, otras el pecado les cierra el entendimiento a el evangelio y no cambiaran, por mas que lo escuchen todos los domingos en misa.
Fijense que Jesús señaló varios puntos que podemos examinar: en nosotros mismos. Cuando escuchamos la Palabra de Dios, ¿nos asaltan de inmediato la duda y la incredulidad para robarnos la paz que hemos recibido? Cuando sufrimos dificultades o persecución por causa de la fe, ¿nos mantenemos firmes en esa fe o nos apartamos de ella? ¿Nos sentimos agobiados por las preocupaciones de este mundo? ¿Nos atrae el interés de las riquezas y el deseo de otras cosas más que el valor de la palabra de Cristo Jesús?
Pero no debemos desanimarnos por las piedras y las espinas de la incredulidad, las distracciones o la inseguridad que no dejan que la Palabra de Dios eche raíces en nuestro corazón. Al Señor le encanta transformar nuestro corazón cuando se lo pedimos, y tiene infinita paciencia con nosotros, tal como la tuvo con sus discípulos, y le gusta explicarnos “el misterio del Reino de Dios” cuando deseamos que la semilla de su palabra crezca en nosotros.
“Espíritu Santo, Consolador, prepara nuestro corazón para recibir la Palabra de Dios con mayor profundidad y ayúdanos, Señor, a dar fruto abundante para el Reino de Dios.” Amen

I believe that if we take the four gospels, the parable of the sower is where a vision of what a missionary's life should be is concentrated.
A missionary sows, he endorses with his life the words of the gospel and there is not much else he can do. He sows and hopes that the Holy Spirit will do his part. Some people will be able to change and follow Jesus, others will not be ready and perhaps more time should pass, others sin closes their understanding to the gospel and will not change, no matter how much they hear it every Sunday at Mass.
Notice that Jesus pointed out several points that we can examine: in ourselves. When we hear the Word of God, are we immediately assaulted by doubt and disbelief to steal the peace we have received? When we suffer difficulties or persecution because of faith, do we stand firm in that faith or do we turn away from it? Do we feel overwhelmed by the worries of this world? Are we attracted to the interest of wealth and the desire for other things than the value of the word of Jesus Christ?
But we should not be discouraged by the stones and thorns of disbelief, distractions or insecurity that do not allow the Word of God to take root in our hearts. The Lord loves to transform our hearts when we ask him, and he has infinite patience with us, just as he had with his disciples, and he likes to explain to us “the mystery of the Kingdom of God” when we want the seed of his word to grow in us. .
"Holy Spirit, Comforter, prepare our hearts to receive the Word of God in greater depth and help us, Lord, to bear abundant fruit for the Kingdom of God." Amen
