Mt 28, 16-20

GospelMT 28:16-20
The eleven disciples went to Galilee,
to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them.
When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted.
Then Jesus approached and said to them,
“All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.”

Meditacion:
Amen

Today we read an important part of the Gospel. Not only do we remember in the first reading the ascension of Jesus to heaven, but in the Gospel we meditate on "the great commission" that all Catholics have. Go and baptize and proclaim the Gospel. And then he says a promise "I will be with you every day until the end of the world".
We are not alone, we will never be alone because Jesus walks with us at every step, in every decision.
We can think that sometimes God left us alone ... it is easy to believe it in times like these where many of us are going through enormous difficulties, very hard decisions, when many of us have been left without work, locked in our houses, it is easy to think that God is not when you are in a hospital bed, thanking every breath of breath.
And yet, God is still with us, God is there, waiting for us, helping us in subtle ways to be better every day.
We are children of God and heirs of the Kingdom ... would we leave our own children unprotected?
But at the same time it is our job to make our life an example of our Heavenly Father. And it starts with very little, being straight in our decisions, fair to ourselves and to others, loving our brothers, all of them without distinction.
Yesterday I read that the next human generation will be based on respect and mercy. And it is something that I sincerely believe. The time of being "man the wolf of man" has ended and ended in the worst way, I end up in the middle of a pandemic that came from where it came from, helped to bring out the best in people. And so we will continue because, consciously or unconsciously, there is no going back.
"Lord and God of all creation, I love you and I want to praise and bless you every day of my life." Amen
