Jn 16, 12-15

GospelJN 16:12-15
Jesus said to his disciples:
“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.
But when he comes, the Spirit of truth,
he will guide you to all truth.
He will not speak on his own,
but he will speak what he hears,
and will declare to you the things that are coming.
He will glorify me,
because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.
Everything that the Father has is mine;
for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine
and declare it to you
“I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.
But when he comes, the Spirit of truth,
he will guide you to all truth.
He will not speak on his own,
but he will speak what he hears,
and will declare to you the things that are coming.
He will glorify me,
because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.
Everything that the Father has is mine;
for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine
and declare it to you

Meditacion:

At the Last Supper, Jesus had a long conversation with his disciples and during this conversation he spoke to them five times about the Holy Spirit. The disciples feel great sadness because Jesus is going to withdraw from their side. Given the magnitude of this desolation, Jesus comforts the disciples with the promise of the Holy Spirit that will strengthen the faith of the disciples even in times of crisis and persecution.
Today also the promise of Jesus is very current in favor of all of us his disciples, who also want to follow him, but we encountered so many difficulties along the way. It is not about "understanding" who the Holy Spirit is, it is about invoking and welcoming him as the "sweet guest" of the soul. And tell him from the heart: "Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and infuse in them the fire of your love."
Someone will say to me: "Father, but if I don't understand who he is, how am I going to call and invoke him." The mystery of this Divine Person is like fire, that if you do not approach it, it does not heat you. Let him enter your heart and you will be truly another. In other words, you will be a Christian of fire, full of spirit. Jesus promised us: "When he comes, the Spirit of Truth will guide you to the complete truth."
Let's not look for publicity acts, that claim us as the best, because that was not the style of Jesus. God, our God is smarter than us. His Spirit, the great protagonist of the Mission today and always, will always find the best paths. The strength of the Catholic community does not depend on the merits of its members but on Jesus, who in his farewell said to his apostles: "I am with you every day until the end of this world."
