Jn 14, 21-26

GospelJN 14:21-26
Jesus said to his disciples:
“Whoever has my commandments and observes them
is the one who loves me.
Whoever loves me will be loved by my Father,
and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”
Judas, not the Iscariot, said to him,
“Master, then what happened that you will reveal yourself to us
and not to the world?”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.
Whoever does not love me does not keep my words;
yet the word you hear is not mine
but that of the Father who sent me.
“Whoever has my commandments and observes them
is the one who loves me.
Whoever loves me will be loved by my Father,
and I will love him and reveal myself to him.”
Judas, not the Iscariot, said to him,
“Master, then what happened that you will reveal yourself to us
and not to the world?”
Jesus answered and said to him,
“Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him.
Whoever does not love me does not keep my words;
yet the word you hear is not mine
but that of the Father who sent me.
“I have told you this while I am with you.
The Advocate, the Holy Spirit
whom the Father will send in my nameB
he will teach you everything
and remind you of all that I told you.”
The Advocate, the Holy Spirit
whom the Father will send in my nameB
he will teach you everything
and remind you of all that I told you.”

Meditacion:
Amen

In today's Gospel, Jesus offers us two useful and practical teachings for our Christian life: A few details about love and a promise.
Details about love: Jesus declares that he is truly loved only by those who know his commandments and keep them. The type of love that Jesus promotes is not confused with other types of love. It focuses on knowing and meeting. There is no love without empathizing with Jesus and understanding Him, until discovering that He is the Truth. Although it sometimes seems mysterious, it is never absurd. Without meeting experience, without treatment and contact, without listening to and welcoming his word ... there is no love. We must put into practice his words and do what he proposes. Whoever knows and obeys him, remains united to him, in communion, as the branch "grafted" on the vine, but not as the branch simply "tied" to it, juxtaposed.
A promise: He will send the Holy Spirit who will "teach" and "remember" everything He had said. Whoever opens his heart to the Holy Spirit does not become God, but a "temple of God." But be careful, being "temples" is not the same as being "sacristies" that do not contain the living presence of the Lord, but only store sacred objects. The Holy Spirit dwells in our hearts to the extent that his action is visible in life. Its activity is very rich. It appears described by the titles that the Scriptures give it. Today Jesus calls him "Defender" because he defends us from evil - who, in addition to being a liar and harmful, is always stronger than us - and also an "interior Master" who makes us intelligible what we cannot understand and reminds us of Jesus' words that We forget so often or change them for others. Amen
