La Paz de Jesus

Jn 14, 27-31

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: “La paz les dejo, mi paz les doy. No se la doy como la da el mundo. No pierdan la paz ni se acobarden. Me han oído decir: ‘Me voy, pero volveré a su lado’. Si me amaran, se alegrarían de que me vaya al Padre, porque el Padre es más que yo. Se lo he dicho ahora, antes de que suceda, para que cuando suceda, crean.

Ya no hablaré muchas cosas con ustedes, porque se acerca el príncipe de este mundo; no es que él tenga poder sobre mí, pero es necesario que el mundo sepa que amo al Padre y que cumplo exactamente lo que el Padre me ha mandado’’.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
Not as the world gives do I give it to you.
Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.
You heard me tell you,
‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’
If you loved me,
you would rejoice that I am going to the Father;
for the Father is greater than I.
And now I have told you this before it happens,
so that when it happens you may believe.
I will no longer speak much with you,
for the ruler of the world is coming.
He has no power over me,
but the world must know that I love the Father
and that I do just as the Father has commanded me.”

Meditacion:

Jesús nos habla indirectamente de la cruz: nos deja la paz, pero al precio de su dolorosa salida de este mundo. Durante todo el tiempo en que Jesús permaneció en este mundo, siempre irradió la paz de Dios, una paz sobrenatural que supera todo entendimiento humano. Al principio de su ministerio, el Espíritu Santo lo condujo al desierto, donde fue sometido a las perversas tentaciones de Satanás. Los ataques del diablo fueron terribles, pero Jesús permaneció firme y fiel al amor y la verdad de su Padre. Cristo iba a menudo a un lugar tranquilo para orar en paz y escuchar a Dios; en esos momentos tan especiales, recibía con gozo la gracia y la paz que Dios le prodigaba.

Un día, Jesús iba en la barca con los apóstoles, cuando se levantó una terrible tormenta, pero él siguió durmiendo, sin que lo molestara el tumulto (Lucas 8, 22-25). Finalmente, los apóstoles, muertos de miedo, lo despertaron. El Señor se levantó, reprendió al viento y calmó el mar, muestra de que tenía pleno dominio sobre todas las cosas.

Dondequiera iba Jesús, las multitudes se apretujaban para tocarlo y recibir sanación y liberación, pero él nunca se sintió agobiado. Más bien, continuamente acudía al Padre, confiando en su sabiduría y su fortaleza, y así permaneció siempre en la paz de Dios.

En el corazón de Jesús no había otra cosa que amor, confianza y una total seguridad en el poder del Padre. Cuando dio su paz a sus discípulos, Cristo sabía que se acercaba la hora de la cruz; no obstante, siguió declarando la grandeza de su Padre: “Él es más que yo”, “Voy al Padre”, “Yo amo al Padre” (14, 28. 31).

Todos pasamos por pruebas, desencantos y temores que nos quitan la paz y a veces nos hacen caer en la frustración o el desánimo. Pero, Jesús nos dice: “Les dejo la paz. Les doy mi paz”. Incluso cuando no experimentamos dificultades particulares, el Señor continúa hablándonos de esta manera, porque siempre quiere estar presente en nuestro corazón, para llevarnos al Padre y hacernos experimentar la clase de paz que no depende de las circunstancias, sino de su amor.

“Jesús, recuérdanos que el amor y la misericordia del Padre son perfectos.” Amen

Jesus speaks indirectly to us about the cross: he leaves us peace, but at the price of his painful departure from this world. Throughout the time that Jesus remained in this world, he always radiated the peace of God, a supernatural peace that surpasses all human understanding. At the beginning of his ministry, the Holy Spirit led him into the desert, where he was subjected to the evil temptations of Satan. The devil's attacks were terrible, but Jesus remained firm and faithful to the love and truth of his Father. Christ often went to a quiet place to pray in peace and listen to God; In those special moments, he received with joy the grace and peace that God lavished on him.

One day Jesus was in the boat with the apostles, when a terrible storm arose, but he continued to sleep, without being disturbed by the tumult (Luke 8, 22-25). Finally, the apostles, scared to death, woke him up. The Lord got up, rebuked the wind and calmed the sea, showing that he had full control over all things.

Wherever Jesus went, crowds crowded together to touch him and receive healing and deliverance, but he never felt overwhelmed. Rather, he continually turned to the Father, trusting in his wisdom and strength, and thus always remained in the peace of God.

In the heart of Jesus there was nothing but love, trust and total security in the power of the Father. When he gave his disciples his peace, Christ knew that the hour of the cross was at hand; nevertheless, he continued declaring the greatness of his Father: "He is more than me", "I go to the Father", "I love the Father" (14, 28. 31).

We all go through trials, disappointments and fears that take away our peace and sometimes make us fall into frustration or discouragement. But, Jesus tells us: “I leave you peace. I give you my peace. ” Even when we do not experience particular difficulties, the Lord continues to speak to us in this way, because he always wants to be present in our hearts, to take us to the Father and make us experience the kind of peace that does not depend on circumstances, but on his love.
