Jn 17, 1-11

GospelJN 17:1-11A
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said,
“Father, the hour has come.
Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you,
just as you gave him authority over all people,
so that your son may give eternal life to all you gave him.
Now this is eternal life,
that they should know you, the only true God,
and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
I glorified you on earth
by accomplishing the work that you gave me to do.
Now glorify me, Father, with you,
with the glory that I had with you before the world began.
“I revealed your name to those whom you gave me out of the world.
They belonged to you, and you gave them to me,
and they have kept your word.
Now they know that everything you gave me is from you,
because the words you gave to me I have given to them,
and they accepted them and truly understood that I came from you,
and they have believed that you sent me.
I pray for them.
I do not pray for the world but for the ones you have given me,
because they are yours, and everything of mine is yours
and everything of yours is mine,
and I have been glorified in them.
And now I will no longer be in the world,
but they are in the world, while I am coming to you.”

Meditacion:
Amen

Today's Gospel tells us about the “hour” of the maximum gift of Christ that is given by everyone.
Christ became man to give glory to the Father, revealing the holiness of God, which human sin had distorted. "Glory" is something of supreme importance and magnificence, characterized by the perfection and grace that are showered on all of Creation.
The glory of God is manifested in his holiness. Jesus honored the Father by revealing his holiness with his words and his life. The Father glorified the Son by resurrecting him, ascending him to heaven, and returning to give him the glory he had had from all eternity. On the other hand, Jesus is honored by us every time we do the Father's will (John 17, 6-10) and we have a part in his sufferings (1 Peter 4, 13-15).
We are all called to honor and glorify the Father, and Jesus is the example we must follow. The Son glorified the Father by obeying him, making him known and giving himself totally to the work of God. To do so, he stripped himself of his own glory and came into the world assuming the fragility of the human condition.
But Jesus did not limit himself to living holy by obeying the Father. He lived and died so that the glory of the Almighty would break down the barriers of sin and illuminate the hearts of his faithful. Jesus did not shy away from the cross, because that was precisely why he had come (John 12: 27-28).
In our case, it is not necessary to perform heroic or extraordinary acts of faith to give glory to God. We can glorify him in our daily work, however insignificant it may seem, because all work can give glory to God if we do it with that motivation: taking care of children, cooking, working in a factory or office, being farmers, teachers or even cleaning floors.
So start each day giving glory to God. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you accept the divine plan, profess your faith, and accomplish the Father's work. If you do, divine light will illuminate you and those around you.
"Lord, my God, I give you glory and praise because you are my Father and because you love me with eternal love. I love you too, Lord, and I want to follow you every day of my life. ” Amen
