Padre Santo...

Jn 17, 11-19

En aquel tiempo, Jesús levantó los ojos al cielo y dijo: “Padre santo, cuida en tu nombre a los que me has dado, para que sean uno, como nosotros. Cuando estaba con ellos, yo cuidaba en tu nombre a los que me diste; yo velaba por ellos y ninguno de ellos se perdió, excepto el que tenía que perderse, para que se cumpliera la Escritura.

Pero ahora voy a ti, y mientras estoy aún en el mundo, digo estas cosas para que mi gozo llegue a su plenitud en ellos. Yo les he entregado tu palabra y el mundo los odia, porque no son del mundo, como yo tampoco soy del mundo. No te pido que los saques del mundo, sino que los libres del mal. Ellos no son del mundo, como tampoco yo soy del mundo.

Santifícalos en la verdad. Tu palabra es la verdad. Así como tú me enviaste al mundo, así los envío yo también al mundo. Yo me santifico a mí mismo por ellos, para que también ellos sean santificados en la verdad’’.

Meditacion:

Hoy leemos al Padre Enrique Martinez Lama: "Jesús, elevando los ojos al cielo, comienza su oración pronunciando: «Padre Santo». Una invocación con la que recuerda y subraya que su origen (Padre) está en el Dios trascendente, «fuera» o diferente del mundo y de sus criterios (Santo). Y también que ese Padre Santo es su destino definitivo («ahora voy a ti»).  Fue el Padre quien le envió al mundo para salvarlo («tanto amó Dios al mundo»), y a tal fin, Jesús mismo fue «santificado», es decir, que recibió el Espíritu del Amor (recordemos su Bautismo en el Jordán, y de paso también nuestro propio bautismo), que le hizo experimentarse en todo momento como «hijo amado del Padre». Así Jesús queda «santificado» o «consagrado» a Dios, para poder llevar a cabo la misión encomendada: hacer presente en el mundo el Amor de Dios, y transformarlo todo con los criterios, y los deseos de Dios, ese proyecto que llamamos «Reino». Así también él será «santificador», como su Padre. Jesús santificado, consagrado por el Padre será santificador, encargado de consagrar el mundo.

Cuando decimos que algo (o alguien) es «santo», estamos diciendo que pertenece al ámbito de Dios, que Dios se hace allí presente de alguna forma, que a través de ese algo o alguien encontramos a Dios. Jesús es el «Santo» por excelencia, porque él es la presencia y la revelación de Dios en nuestro mundo, que llegará a su punto culminante en la «hora» de su muerte y resurrección. 

Entonces se mostrará lo que significa que Dios es Amor, que Dios es Vida, que Dios Salva... y también sabremos cuál es la plenitud y el destino del hombre, al ser totalmente «santificado», lleno de Dios. Es lo que aquí se llama «la Verdad»: santifícalos en la Verdad.

 Por eso, cuando Jesús ora pidiendo al Padre Santo que los suyos sean consagrados en la verdad, está pidiendo por una parte que entren en nosotros, hasta el fondo, transformándonos, los valores y criterios del  Evangelio y haciéndonos evangelizadores, portadores de Dios... Pero a la vez está rogando para que haya una profunda intimidad personal, una comunión plena con el propio Jesús, que es la Verdad.

 Dicho con otras palabras: perteneceremos a Dios, seremos santificados, santos y santificadores, como el mismo Jesús, y mantendremos en nosotros los criterios y valores de Dios... en la medida en que mantengamos la comunión, el Amor de Dios en nosotros (precisamente ese Amor es el Espíritu). Como dice el propio Jesús: Tu «palabra» es verdad (el Evangelio), pero también tu «Palabra» (Jesucristo) es verdad.

 Así entendemos la oración y el deseo de Jesús: «Que sean uno». La intimidad-unidad de Jesús con el Padre Santo le ha resguardado, apoyado y guiado en su tarea en el mundo. Y los que somos enviados por Jesús y en su nombre, sólo saldremos adelante en nuestra misión si mantenemos la unidad con el Padre y el Hijo en el Espíritu... y ¡también la unidad entre nosotros! Mañana lo meditaremos.

 Palabras densas, profundas, gozosas... no tanto para pensarlas o razonarlas, cuanto  contemplarlas,  orarlas, saborearlas despacio,  y descubrirlas como claves de nuestro caminar cristiano de santificación. Para que ninguno de nosotros «se pierda».

“Padre, derrama tu Espíritu Santo para unirnos contigo y tu amado Hijo Jesús y, por su gran poder, envíanos al mundo a predicar y renovar la faz de la tierra.” Amen

 For this reason, when Jesus prays asking the Holy Father that his own be consecrated in the truth, he is asking, on the one hand, that they enter into us, to the bottom, transforming us, the values ​​and criteria of the Gospel and making us evangelizers, bearers of God. But at the same time he is praying for a deep personal intimacy, a full communion with Jesus himself, who is the Truth.

 In other words: we will belong to God, we will be sanctified, holy and sanctifying, like Jesus himself, and we will maintain in ourselves the criteria and values ​​of God ... insofar as we maintain communion, the Love of God in us ( precisely that Love is the Spirit). As Jesus himself says: Your "word" is true (the Gospel), but also your "Word" (Jesus Christ) is true.

 This is how we understand Jesus' prayer and desire: "May they be one." The intimacy-unity of Jesus with the Holy Father has safeguarded, supported and guided him in his task in the world. And those of us who are sent by Jesus and in his name will only succeed in our mission if we maintain unity with the Father and the Son in the Spirit ... and also unity between us! Tomorrow we will meditate.

 Dense, deep, joyous words ... not so much to think or reason, as to contemplate, pray, savor slowly, and discover them as keys to our Christian journey of sanctification. So that none of us "get lost".

"Father, pour out your Holy Spirit to unite us with you and your beloved Son Jesus and, by his great power, send us into the world to preach and renew the face of the earth." Amen
