Mt 10, 16-23

GospelMT 10:16-23
Jesus said to his Apostles:
“Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves;
so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves.
But beware of men,
for they will hand you over to courts
and scourge you in their synagogues,
and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake
as a witness before them and the pagans.
When they hand you over,
do not worry about how you are to speak
or what you are to say.
You will be given at that moment what you are to say.
For it will not be you who speak
but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
Brother will hand over brother to death,
and the father his child;
children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but whoever endures to the end will be saved.
When they persecute you in one town, flee to another.
Amen, I say to you, you will not finish the towns of Israel
before the Son of Man comes.”

Meditacion:
Envíame a mí.” Amen

Are you afraid that the Lord will send you to evangelize? Maybe you think that you are not so holy, that you do not have enough skills or that you are not so nice. But, try to read the words "I send them" from a different perspective.
When you send a letter to a friend, you make it look presentable. You choose a nice piece of paper, a clean envelope, use your best ballpoint pen and try to use the right words. But in reality, the true "force" that moves the letter is the stamp that sticks to the envelope. If there is a misspelled word or a folded corner, it doesn't matter; the letter will always reach its destination as long as it has a stamp. You trust that your friend will receive it and appreciate the gesture.
Being sent by Jesus is not much different. We are like letters sent by God. Every word of encouragement and every act of charity can communicate the love of God to the people with whom we have contact. Saint Paul told the Corinthians that they were a "letter ... written by Christ Himself ... not on stone tablets, but on human hearts" (2 Corinthians 3, 2, 3). It is obvious, then, that you will want your letter to have the best possible letter, that is, you will want to live in a way worthy of the goodness of God and pronounce words that encourage people. However, you also know that the true “strength” of evangelization does not lie solely in your ability or effort: you need the stamp of God's grace!
The Lord asks us to be smart. Yes, being sent requires our time and effort; But remember: evangelization depends on two essential things: the stamp of God's grace and the letter of your life. Don't discount grace! Don't forget that God wants his word to be proclaimed: and don't forget that he wants to help you to be as effective as possible.
So keep saying words of hope and doing good deeds. But it also rests on the knowledge that this does not depend only on you; it also depends on the One who sends you, the God who has sealed you with his grace. He knows your spots and bent corners, and is sending you anyway because he trusts the power of the stamp that has stuck to your life.
Here I am, Lord. Send to me." Amen
