Maria, intercesora de la humanidad

Lc 11, 27-28

En aquel tiempo, mientras Jesús hablaba a la multitud, una mujer del pueblo, gritando, le dijo: “¡Dichosa la mujer que te llevó en su seno y cuyos pechos te amamantaron!” Pero Jesús le respondió: “Dichosos todavía más los que escuchan la palabra de Dios y la ponen en práctica”.

a woman from the crowd called out and said to him,
“Blessed is the womb that carried you
and the breasts at which you nursed.”
He replied,
“Rather, blessed are those
who hear the word of God and observe it.”

Meditacion:

El Faro de Yeda que se encuentra en Arabia Saudita es actualmente el faro operante más alto del mundo. A sus 133 metros de altura, puede proyectar luz en un radio de más de veinticinco millas náuticas y es muy útil para que los marineros sepan cuál es el rumbo correcto y no entren en áreas peligrosas.

Así como los marineros necesitan los faros, nosotros también necesitamos una luz que nos guíe en nuestro caminar al cielo. Y, ¿qué mejor faro podríamos pedir que la propia Virgen María, que ha sido llamada “Estrella del Mar” desde que San Jerónimo acuñó esa frase en el siglo V? Toda su vida es un ejemplo de cómo hay que responderle que sí a Dios. Incluso cuando llegó al final de su vida en la tierra y fue asunta al cielo, ella continuó brillando. El Papa Emérito Benedicto XVI una vez dijo: “Contemplando a María en la gloria celestial, comprendemos que tampoco para nosotros la tierra es una patria definitiva y que, si vivimos orientados hacia los bienes eternos, un día compartiremos su misma gloria.”

No siempre es fácil fijar los ojos en el cielo, especialmente cuando la vida resulta ardua. Los problemas que enfrentamos tienen una forma de oscurecer el glorioso futuro que Dios ha preparado para nosotros; pero el Papa Benedicto nos recuerda que la asunción de María, es una “señal luminosa” que “brilla aún más cuando parecen acumularse en el horizonte sombras tristes de dolor y violencia” (Audiencia General, 16 de agosto de 2006).

La asunción de María al cielo puede haber señalado el final de su presencia física en la tierra, pero ella sigue estando a nuestro lado; así que deja que ella sea tu faro de esperanza en tiempos buenos y malos; permite que te tome de la mano y te guíe hacia su Hijo Jesucristo. Ella te recordará el amor sin fin y el amor misericordioso que el Señor te tiene; te animará a perseverar, tal como lo hizo ella, y te mostrará que así como Dios tenía un plan glorioso para su vida, aunque ella no lo podía entender, él tiene un plan maravilloso para ti también; un plan que culmina en el cielo, al lado de los ángeles y los santos y adorando gozosamente a su Hijo.

“María, Madre de Dios, ¡ruega por mí!” Amen

The problems we face have a way of obscuring the glorious future God has prepared for us; But Pope Benedict reminds us that the assumption of Mary is a “luminous sign” that “shines even more when sad shadows of pain and violence seem to accumulate on the horizon” (General Audience, August 16, 2006).

Mary's assumption into heaven may have signaled the end of her physical presence on earth, but she is still by our side; so let her be your beacon of hope in good times and bad; allow her to take you by the hand and guide you to her Son Jesus Christ. She will remind you of the endless love and the merciful love that the Lord has for you; It will encourage you to persevere, just as she did, and it will show you that just as God had a glorious plan for her life, even though she couldn't understand it, he has a wonderful plan for you too; a plan that culminates in heaven, alongside the angels and saints and joyfully adoring her Son.
