Jn 19, 25-27

En aquel tiempo, junto a la cruz de Jesús estaban su madre, la hermana de su madre, María la de Cleofás, y María Magdalena.

Al ver a su madre y junto a ella al discípulo que tanto quería, Jesús dijo a su madre: “Mujer, ahí está tu hijo”. Luego dijo al discípulo: “Ahí está tu madre”. Y desde entonces el discípulo se la llevó a vivir con él.

JN 19:25-27

Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother
and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas,
and Mary Magdalene.
When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved
he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.”
Then he said to the disciple,
“Behold, your mother.”
And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.

Meditacion:

Al honrar hoy a Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, escuchemos las palabras del Señor y contemplemos a María, nuestra madre. La llamamos así debido a todo lo que sufrió y las dificultades que experimentó en su vida. Conmemoramos el hecho de que ella compartió el dolor y el sufrimiento de su hijo, pero también que comparte tus aflicciones y las mías, y lo hace puesto que nos ama de todo corazón, porque nos considera sus hijos.

Así que tomemos un momento para hablar con María a través de la Letanía de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores:

“María, tú eres Espejo de paciencia. Debes haberte sentido preocupada cuando no podías encontrar a tu hijo perdido en el Templo, y pasaste tres días buscándolo pacientemente. Ayúdame a ser paciente cuando busco al Señor para que responda a mis oraciones. Llévame de la mano para que el pecado no me haga tropezar. Pídele al Espíritu Santo que me dé un corazón lleno de confianza y entrega como el tuyo.

“María, tú eres Refugio de los abandonados. No puedo imaginar el dolor que debiste sentir mientras caminabas cerca de tu Hijo durante su Pasión. Pero siempre te apoyaste en las promesas de Dios, de que Jesús salvaría a su pueblo de sus pecados y que heredaría el trono de su antepasado David, y esas promesas te sostuvieron. Viendo el dolor, los insultos y el rechazo que tu hijo sufrió, te aferraste a sus palabras: “aunque ustedes estén tristes, su tristeza se convertirá en alegría” (Juan 16, 20). Por favor, reza para que yo me aferre a las promesas de Dios cuando la oscuridad me aflija.

“Tú eres Apaciguadora de las tormentas. Fueron grandes las tormentas que tuviste en tu vida: un embarazo inesperado y sin explicación; el peligro real de que José te rechazara; la huida a Egipto para proteger a tu pequeño hijo; y otras más. Pero nunca perdiste la confianza en Dios. Con valentía hiciste frente a estas tempestades emocionales y nunca tuviste resentimiento contra Dios. Ayúdame a soportar las tormentas de mi vida y de la vida de los que están más cerca de mí. Enséñame a mantener la confianza en Dios cuando lleguen las tormentas y reza para que yo tenga la firme confianza que tú tuviste.”

“María, madre celestial, gracias por cuidarme. Santa María, Madre de Dios, nunca te apartes de mi lado.” Amen

As we honor Our Lady of Sorrows today, let us listen to the words of the Lord and contemplate Mary, our mother. We call her that because of all that she suffered and the difficulties she experienced in her life. We commemorate the fact that she shared her son's pain and suffering, but also that she shares your afflictions and mine, and she does so because she loves us with all her heart, because she considers us her children.

So let's take a moment to talk to Mary through the Litany of Our Lady of Sorrows:

“Maria, you are the Mirror of patience. You must have been worried when you couldn't find your lost son in the Temple, and you spent three days patiently searching for him. Help me to be patient when I seek the Lord to answer my prayers. Take me by the hand so that sin does not make me stumble. Ask the Holy Spirit to give me a heart full of trust and dedication like yours.

“Maria, you are Refuge of the abandoned. I cannot imagine the pain you must have felt while walking close to your Son during his Passion. But you always relied on God's promises that Jesus would save his people from their sins and inherit the throne from his ancestor David, and those promises sustained you. Seeing the pain, insults and rejection that your son suffered, you clung to his words: “even if you are sad, your sadness will turn into joy” (John 16:20). Please pray that I will hold on to God's promises when darkness afflicts me.

“You are Calmer of storms. The storms you had in your life were great: an unexpected and unexplained pregnancy; the real danger that José will reject you; the flight to Egypt to protect your little son; and others more. But you never lost trust in God. You bravely faced these emotional storms and never held a grudge against God. Help me to withstand the storms in my life and in the lives of those closest to me. Teach me to keep my trust in God when the storms come and pray that I have the firm trust that you had. "

“Mary, heavenly mother, thank you for taking care of me. Holy Mary, Mother of God, never leave my side. " Amen
