Pidan y se os dara

Lc 11, 5-13

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: “Supongan que alguno de ustedes tiene un amigo que viene a medianoche a decirle: ‘Préstame, por favor, tres panes, pues un amigo mío ha venido de viaje y no tengo nada que ofrecerle’. Pero él le responde desde dentro: ‘No me molestes. No puedo levantarme a dártelos, porque la puerta ya está cerrada y mis hijos y yo estamos acostados’. Si el otro sigue tocando, yo les aseguro que, aunque no se levante a dárselos por ser su amigo, sin embargo, por su molesta insistencia, sí se levantará y le dará cuanto necesite.

Así también les digo a ustedes: Pidan y se les dará, busquen y encontrarán, toquen y se les abrirá. Porque quien pide, recibe; quien busca, encuentra y al que toca, se le abre. ¿Habrá entre ustedes algún padre que, cuando su hijo le pida pan, le dé una piedra? ¿O cuando le pida pescado, le dé una víbora? ¿O cuando le pida huevo, le dé un alacrán?

Pues, si ustedes, que son malos, saben dar cosas buenas a sus hijos, ¿cuánto más el Padre celestial les dará el Espíritu Santo a quienes se lo pidan?’’

LK 11:5-13

Jesus said to his disciples:
“Suppose one of you has a friend
to whom he goes at midnight and says,
‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
for a friend of mine has arrived at my house from a journey
and I have nothing to offer him,’
and he says in reply from within,
‘Do not bother me; the door has already been locked
and my children and I are already in bed.
I cannot get up to give you anything.’
I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves
because of their friendship,
he will get up to give him whatever he needs
because of his persistence.

“And I tell you, ask and you will receive;
seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives;
and the one who seeks, finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
What father  among you would hand his son a snake
when he asks for a fish?
Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg?
If you then, who are wicked,
know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit
to those who ask him?”

Meditacion:

La mayoría de nosotros estamos familiarizados con la tentación, y sabemos cuando tenemos tentaciones impuras, envidia o codicia. Pero, a veces también tenemos la tentación de dudar de la bondad de Dios. ¿Has dudado alguna vez de que Dios realmente ha perdonado tus pecados? ¿O de que cumplirá sus planes para tu vida? ¿Has dudado de que quiere bendecirte, incluso cuando sabes que tiene poder para hacerlo? Aunque es posible que no pensemos así constantemente, todos lo hemos hecho una que otra vez.

Con estas palabras, el Señor Jesús desafió a sus discípulos, y a cada uno de nosotros, a hacer a un lado las dudas de que el Padre nos cuida. Él sabe lo frágil que puede ser la confianza. Desde que Satanás interpeló a Eva diciéndole “¿Así que Dios les ha dicho que no coman del fruto de ningún árbol del jardín?” (Génesis 3, 1), los seres humanos nos hemos vuelto proclives a desconfiar del Padre celestial. Pensamos que debemos buscar nuestras propias soluciones, pero Cristo quiere que conozcamos a Dios Padre, ¡que es el amor!

Si escuchamos con atención, casi podemos percibir la urgencia en las palabras de Jesús: “¡Adelante! Busquen y encontrarán, por favor, se lo ruego, ¡llamen a la puerta y ésta se abrirá! Pídanle a mi Padre; pídanle y recibirán.” El Señor confía en que si llegamos a conocer al Padre como él mismo lo conoce, nuestra alegría será completa (Juan 15, 11). Después de todo, esa es la razón por la que murió por nosotros. Él quería liberarnos del pecado, para que un día lleguemos a reunirnos con Dios y disfrutar de su gloriosa bondad.

Hermano, ¿cómo respondes a esta pregunta del Señor? ¿Has aceptado el hecho de que verdaderamente eres hijo de Dios? Si no, ¡atrévete a dar el paso! La próxima vez que necesites algo, intenta pedirlo con fe más expectante. Ya sabemos que el Padre celestial escucha las oraciones y que solo quiere lo mejor para nosotros. Hemos sido sellados con la sangre de su Hijo, Jesucristo, que él derramó por nosotros en la cuz, para que nos acerquemos a su trono con confianza. La simple verdad es que, ¡nada es imposible para Dios!

“Señor, gracias por revelarme al Padre, ayúdame a reconocerlo y a confiar en su amor y compasión.” Amen

Most of us are familiar with temptation, and we know when we have impure temptations, envy, or greed. But, sometimes we are also tempted to doubt the goodness of God. Have you ever doubted that God has really forgiven your sins? Or that he will fulfill his plans for your life? Have you doubted that he wants to bless you, even when you know he has the power to do so? Although we may not constantly think this way, we have all done it time and again.

With these words, the Lord Jesus challenged his disciples, and each one of us, to put aside doubts that the Father cares for us. He knows how fragile trust can be. Since Satan challenged Eve saying "So God has told you not to eat the fruit of any tree in the garden?" (Genesis 3, 1), human beings have become prone to distrust the heavenly Father. We think that we should seek our own solutions, but Christ wants us to know God the Father, who is love!

If we listen carefully, we can almost sense the urgency in Jesus' words: “Go ahead! Search and you will find, please, I beg you, knock on the door and it will open! Ask my Father; ask him and you will receive. " The Lord trusts that if we come to know the Father as he knows him, our joy will be complete (John 15:11). After all, that is why he died for us. He wanted to free us from sin, so that one day we could meet with God and enjoy His glorious goodness.

Brother, how do you answer this question from the Lord? Have you accepted the fact that you are truly a child of God? If not, dare to take the step! The next time you need something, try asking for it with more expectant faith. We already know that Heavenly Father hears prayers and wants only the best for us. We have been sealed with the blood of his Son, Jesus Christ, which he shed for us on the cuz, so that we may approach his throne with confidence. The simple truth is, nothing is impossible with God!

"Lord, thank you for revealing the Father to me, help me to recognize him and to trust his love and compassion." Amen
