Aquel día, Jesús entró en el templo y comenzó a echar fuera a los que vendían y compraban allí, diciéndoles: “Está escrito: Mi casa es casa de oración; pero ustedes la han convertido en cueva de ladrones”.
Jesús enseñaba todos los días en el templo. Por su parte, los sumos sacerdotes, los escribas y los jefes del pueblo, intentaban matarlo, pero no encontraban cómo hacerlo, porque todo el pueblo estaba pendiente de sus palabras.

Jesus entered the temple area and proceeded to drive out
those who were selling things, saying to them,
“It is written,
My house shall be a house of prayer,
but you have made it a den of thieves.”
And every day he was teaching in the temple area.
The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile,
were seeking to put him to death,
but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose
because all the people were hanging on his words.

Meditacion:
Cuando Jesús habla de “mi casa”, podemos entender esto de diferentes maneras. El Templo de Jerusalén era considerado la casa de Dios. Efectivamente, Jesús pronunció estas palabras mientras purificaba el Templo. Veamos de qué otras formas podemos entender estas palabras.
Mi casa es casa de oración.
Tu familia y la mía son partes de la casa de Dios. De hecho, se dice que cada unidad familiar es una “iglesia doméstica”, o una iglesia en miniatura. Cada familia forma un ambiente único en donde cada miembro puede crecer en santidad junto a los otros. Así que es importante aprovechar cada oportunidad que se presenta para crecer en santidad, ya sea rezando juntos como familia, leyendo la Escritura, participando de los sacramentos o sirviendo a los pobres.
Mi casa es casa de oración.
El pueblo de Dios en general, la Iglesia, también es la casa en la que Dios habita. Esto incluye a todos los feligreses, las personas con las que servimos en algún ministerio y aquellos con quienes tenemos comunión fraterna. Ellos son nuestros hermanos y hermanas, así que siempre debemos tenerles el respeto y el honor que se merecen. Incluso si profesan una espiritualidad distinta, siguen siendo valiosos a los ojos del Señor. Por eso, reza con ellos y por ellos. Recuerda, también, que Dios quiere reunir a todas las personas en su casa, así que, ¡trata a todos los que conozcas como un “posible miembro de tu hogar!”

La estructura física en la que tú asistes a Misa cada domingo, o tal vez diariamente, es literalmente la casa de Dios. Es más que un templo, es un lugar santo, donde puedes encontrarte con el Señor, presente en el sagrario. Es un espacio sagrado, especialmente durante la Misa, cuando Jesús se nos ofrece bajo las formas de pan y vino. Si tu iglesia no se encuentra en el vecindario más rico, o si el edificio no tiene el diseño más elegante, en realidad no importa cómo se vea ni donde esté, porque el Señor Jesús está ahí tan presente como en una catedral. ¡No ignores su increíble don!
Hoy, al rezar, dale gracias a Jesús por las distintas formas en que está presente para ti. ¡Que todos atesoren cada “casa de oración” que Cristo nos ha dado!
“¡Gracias, Señor, por habitar en mi corazón!”

The people of God in general, the Church, is also the house in which God dwells. This includes all parishioners, those with whom we serve in a ministry, and those with whom we have fraternal fellowship. They are our brothers and sisters, so we must always give them the respect and honor they deserve. Even if they profess a different spirituality, they are still valuable in the eyes of the Lord. Therefore, pray with them and for them. Remember, too, that God wants to bring everyone into his home, so treat everyone you meet as a "possible member of your household!"

The physical structure in which you attend Mass every Sunday, or perhaps daily, is literally the house of God. It is more than a temple, it is a holy place, where you can meet the Lord, present in the tabernacle. It is a sacred space, especially during Mass, when Jesus offers himself to us in the forms of bread and wine. If your church is not in the richest neighborhood, or if the building does not have the most elegant design, it does not really matter how it looks or where it is, because the Lord Jesus is there as present as in a cathedral. Don't ignore his incredible gift!
Today, as you pray, give thanks to Jesus for the many ways He is present for you. May everyone treasure every “house of prayer” that Christ has given us!
