Mc 3, 7-12

En aquel tiempo, Jesús se retiró con sus discípulos a la orilla del mar, seguido por una muchedumbre de galileos. Una gran multitud, procedente de Judea y Jerusalén, de Idumea y Transjordania y de la parte de Tiro y Sidón, habiendo tenido noticias de lo que Jesús hacía, se trasladó a donde él estaba.

Entonces rogó Jesús a sus discípulos que le consiguieran una barca para subir en ella, porque era tanta la multitud, que estaba a punto de aplastarlo.

En efecto, Jesús había curado a muchos, de manera que todos los que padecían algún mal, se le echaban encima para tocarlo. Cuando los poseídos por espíritus inmundos lo veían, se echaban a sus pies y gritaban: “Tú eres el Hijo de Dios”. Pero Jesús les prohibía que lo manifestaran.

Mk 3:7-12

Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples.
A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea.
Hearing what he was doing, 
a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem, 
from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan, 
and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon.
He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, 
so that they would not crush him.
He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases
were pressing upon him to touch him.
And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him 
and shout, “You are the Son of God.”
He warned them sternly not to make him known.

Meditacion:

Las noticias sobre sanaciones en Cafarnaúm atrajeron a una multitud tan grande que amenazaba con aplastar a Jesús. Sin teléfonos o periódicos, correos electrónicos o mensajes de texto, las noticias se habían difundido hasta Tiro y Sidón, a unos ochenta kilómetros al norte, y a Idumea, más de ciento veinte kilómetros al sur. ¿Cómo habían llegado tan lejos las noticias de los milagros que Jesús realizaba? Tenemos que asumir que una persona le contó a otra, y esa le contó a otra persona que a su vez habló con alguien más. Posiblemente fue así de simple y así de poderoso.

Cuando Dios actúa, lo que sigue es el asombro. Imagina escuchar que la gente se sanaba, los inválidos eran restaurados y la desesperación y el desánimo desaparecían. Si escuchas hablar mucho sobre ellos, podrías atreverte a creer que los milagros son posibles incluso para ti. Las noticias pueden hacer nacer in ti la esperanza. Incluso escuchar sobre cosas “pequeñas” como preocupaciones aliviadas, una bondad inesperada, o poder dormir bien durante la noche, puede tener un efecto similar.

La palabra simple es poderosa, y tú puedes compartir esa clase de buenas noticias. Si crees que Dios ha hecho algo en tu vida, cuéntaselo a alguien más. Si crees que Dios te mostró algo en tu oración, o una lectura de la Misa resuena en tu corazón, cuéntale a alguien. Podrías encender en otros la esperanza o la fe. No es necesario que la dramatices, ni tampoco que le hables a multitudes. Intenta contarle solo a otra persona, simple y llanamente, sobre lo que Dios ha hecho en tu vida. Luego deja espacio para que el Espíritu Santo suscite una fe más profunda.

Tampoco tienes que convencer a nadie. Dios puede hacerlo, ya que sus palabras y acciones tienen poder en sí mismos. El mundo tiene hambre de la presencia de Dios, y tú puedes señalar dónde y cómo lo ves actuar. Si crees que no tienes nada que decir, pídele hoy que te dé algo que puedas compartir. Siempre fíjate en dónde está actuando Dios, ya sea que hable, sane o anime.

“Señor, te ruego que me ayudes a ver tu obra y contarle a otros lo que estás haciendo.”

The news of healings at Capernaum drew such a large crowd that it threatened to crush Jesus. Without telephones or newspapers, emails or text messages, the news had spread to Tire and Sidon, some fifty miles to the north, and to Idumea, more than eighty miles to the south. How had the news of the miracles that Jesus performed got so far? We have to assume that one person told another, and that person told another person who in turn spoke to someone else. It was possibly that simple and that powerful.

When God acts, what follows is wonder. Imagine hearing people get healed, invalids restored, and despair and discouragement disappear. If you hear a lot about them, you might dare to believe that miracles are possible even for you. The news can give birth to hope. Even hearing about "little" things like eased worries, unexpected kindness, or being able to get a good night's sleep can have a similar effect.

The simple word is powerful, and you can share that kind of good news. If you think God has done something in your life, tell someone else. If you think God showed you something in your prayer, or a Mass reading resonates in your heart, tell someone. You could kindle hope or faith in others. You don't need to dramatize it, nor do you need to speak to crowds. Try to tell just one other person, plain and simple, about what God has done in your life. Then leave room for the Holy Ghost to stir up deeper faith.

You also don't have to convince anyone. God can do it, since his words and actions have power in themselves. The world is hungry for God's presence, and you can point out where and how you see him act. If you think you have nothing to say, ask Him today for something you can share. Always be aware of where God is acting, whether He speaks, heals, or encourages.

"Lord, I beg you to help me see your work and tell others what you are doing."
