Hacer el bien siempre

Mc 3, 1-6

En aquel tiempo, Jesús entró en la sinagoga, donde había un hombre que tenía tullida una mano. Los fariseos estaban espiando a Jesús para ver si curaba en sábado y poderlo acusar. Jesús le dijo al tullido: “Levántate y ponte allí en medio”.

Después les preguntó: “¿Qué es lo que está permitido hacer en sábado, el bien o el mal? ¿Se le puede salvar la vida a un hombre en sábado o hay que dejarlo morir?” Ellos se quedaron callados. Entonces, mirándolos con ira y con tristeza, porque no querían entender, le dijo al hombre: “Extiende tu mano”. La extendió, y su mano quedó sana.

Entonces se fueron los fariseos y comenzaron a hacer planes con los del partido de Herodes, para matar a Jesús.

Mk 3:1-6

Jesus entered the synagogue.
There was a man there who had a withered hand.
They watched Jesus closely
to see if he would cure him on the sabbath
so that they might accuse him.
He said to the man with the withered hand,
“Come up here before us.”
Then he said to the Pharisees,
“Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil,
to save life rather than to destroy it?”
But they remained silent.
Looking around at them with anger
and grieved at their hardness of heart,
Jesus said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.”
He stretched it out and his hand was restored.
The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel
with the Herodians against him to put him to death.

Meditacion:

El Reino de Dios está entre vosotros. Con palabras, y con obras. Nueva Alianza, nuevas normas. Pero no se entiende. Jesús se enfada, porque para muchos la norma está por encima de la persona. “Hay muchos días en la semana, no vengáis en sábado a ser curados”. Los fariseos y los herodianos, en principio enemigos políticos y religiosos, en este caso se unen contra un “enemigo” común. Y observan a Jesús, para acusarlo.

A Jesús le duele que no sean capaces de empatizar con el sufrimiento ajeno. Que sea más importante el sábado, el día consagrado a Dios, que la persona de ese pobre con la mano paralizada. Con todos los inconvenientes que eso conllevaba en tiempos de Jesús. En el plano social, e incluso religioso.

Jesús opta por hacer lo bueno, o sea, sanar al enfermo. La mirada de Jesús, siempre atenta, descubre dónde puede hacer el bien. Y lo hace. No le importa la opinión ajena. Aunque sea el motivo de que sus enemigos se alíen contra Él.

Vivimos una época en la opinión ajena influye mucho en la vida de las personas. Lo “políticamente correcto” se va imponiendo, la ideología de género, las corrientes a favor del aborto y la eutanasia… Hay muchos motivos para mirar alrededor, ver qué necesidades hay, y hacer lo correcto. Como hizo Jesús. A pesar de todo. Ojalá que sepamos ser coherentes con nuestros ideales.

Es el tercer día de la semana de oración por la Unidad de los Cristianos. Formar un solo cuerpo: «Amaos los unos a los otros como yo os he amado» (Jn 15, 12b), es el lema de hoy. Que sepamos buscar lo que los une, en medio de tantos problemas. Como Melquisedec, rey de la paz, que supo reconocer a Abrahán como líder del pueblo de Israel.

The Kingdom of God is within you. With words, and with deeds. New Alliance, new rules. But it is not understood. Jesus gets angry, because for many the norm is above the person. "There are many days in the week, do not come on Saturday to be cured." The Pharisees and Herodians, initially political and religious enemies, in this case unite against a common "enemy". We live in a time in which the opinion of others influences a lot in people's lives. The "politically correct" is prevailing, the gender ideology, the trends in favor of abortion and euthanasia ... There are many reasons to look around, see what needs there are, and do the right thing. Like Jesus did. Nonetheless. Hopefully we know how to be consistent with our ideals.

It is the third day of the week of prayer for Christian Unity. To form a single body: "Love one another as I have loved you" (Jn 15, 12b), is today's motto. That we know how to find what unites them, in the midst of so many problems. Like Melchizedek, king of peace, he knew how to recognize Abraham as the leader of the people of Israel.
