Mc 1, 21-28

En aquel tiempo, llegó Jesús a Cafarnaúm y el sábado siguiente fue a la sinagoga y se puso a enseñar. Los oyentes quedaron asombrados de sus palabras, pues enseñaba como quien tiene autoridad y no como los escribas. 

Había en la sinagoga un hombre poseído por un espíritu inmundo, que se puso a gritar: “¿Qué quieres tú con nosotros, Jesús de Nazaret? ¿Has venido a acabar con nosotros? Ya sé quién eres: el Santo de Dios”. Jesús le ordenó: “¡Cállate y sal de él!” El espíritu inmundo, sacudiendo al hombre con violencia y dando un alarido, salió de él. Todos quedaron estupefactos y se preguntaban: “¿Qué es esto? ¿Qué nueva doctrina es ésta? Este hombre tiene autoridad para mandar hasta a los espíritus inmundos y lo obedecen”. Y muy pronto se extendió su fama por toda Galilea.

Mk 1:21-28

Jesus came to Capernaum with his followers, 
and on the sabbath he entered the synagogue and taught.
The people were astonished at his teaching,
for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.
In their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit;
he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?
Have you come to destroy us?
I know who you are–the Holy One of God!” 
Jesus rebuked him and said, “Quiet!  Come out of him!”
The unclean spirit convulsed him and with a loud cry came out of him.
All were amazed and asked one another,
“What is this?
A new teaching with authority.
He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him.”
His fame spread everywhere throughout the whole region of Galilee.

Meditacion:

En todo el ministerio de Jesús, vemos el deseo de buscar a Dios  materializarse. Las personas viajaban lejos para buscar la sanidad física y espiritual en Cristo. Algunos incluso rompieron los estándares políticos y sociales para acercarse a él. En la lectura de hoy, leemos sobre un hombre poseído por un demonio que se presenta delante de Jesús pidiendo ser liberado, a pesar de la agresividad del demonio.

Para nosotros, los humanos, es un asunto de relación. Entre más conocemos a Jesús y el amor que él tiene por nosotros, más nos convencemos de que diariamente él nos ofrece exactamente lo que necesitamos. No solo nos llegamos a convencer de que él tiene el poder para sanar nuestras heridas, sino que confiamos en que el Señor puede darnos la sabiduría y la gracia que necesitamos para vivir una vida santa. Tenemos la seguridad de que permaneciendo cerca suyo y obedeciendo sus mandamientos, podemos evitar enfermarnos, al menos espiritualmente.

Busca a Jesús apartando tiempo para presentarte ante él en diferentes momentos del día en oración, eventualmente empezarás a escuchar sus palabras de ánimo y su guía. Te sentirás inspirado a detenerte y rezar, a evitar un camino particular de pecado y a seguir otro camino por el que antes no habías intentado andar.

Escucha, todos los días escucha. Luego sigue la inspiración que crees que viene de Jesús. El Señor no te está probando ni está jugando contigo. ¡Jesucristo desea que tú encuentres su sanidad y su amor!

“¡Ven, Espíritu Santo! Te ruego que me enseñes a acercarme hoy a Jesús y a escuchar su voz.”

Throughout Jesus' ministry, we see the desire to seek God materialize. People traveled far and wide to seek physical and spiritual healing in Christ. Some even broke political and social standards to get close to him. In today's reading, we read about a man possessed by a demon who comes before Jesus asking to be released, despite the aggressiveness of the demon.

For us humans, it is a matter of relationship. The more we get to know Jesus and the love he has for us, the more we become convinced that he offers us exactly what we need on a daily basis. Not only do we become convinced that he has the power to heal our wounds, but we trust that the Lord can give us the wisdom and grace we need to live holy lives. We are assured that by staying close to him and obeying his commandments, we can avoid getting sick, at least spiritually.

Seek Jesus by setting aside time to appear before him at different times of the day in prayer, eventually you will begin to hear his words of encouragement and guidance from him. You will be inspired to stop and pray, to avoid a particular path of sin and to follow another path that you had not tried to walk before.

Listen, every day listen. Then follow the inspiration that you think comes from Jesus. The Lord is not testing you nor is He toying with you. Jesus Christ wants you to find his healing and his love!

Come Holy Spirit! I beg you to teach me to get close to Jesus today and to listen to his voice. "
