Al que se le da mucho....

Lc 12, 39-48

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Fíjense en esto: Si un padre de familia supiera a qué hora va a venir el ladrón, estaría vigilando y no dejaría que se le metiera por un boquete en su casa. Pues también ustedes estén preparados, porque a la hora en que menos lo piensen, vendrá el Hijo del hombre".

Entonces Pedro le preguntó a Jesús: "¿Dices esta parábola sólo por nosotros o por todos?"

El Señor le respondió: "Supongan que un administrador, puesto por su amo al frente de la servidumbre con el encargo de repartirles a su tiempo los alimentos, se porta con fidelidad y prudencia. Dichoso ese siervo, si el amo, a su llegada, lo encuentra cumpliendo con su deber. Yo les aseguro que lo pondrá al frente de todo lo que tiene.

Pero si ese siervo piensa: 'Mi amo tardará en llegar' y empieza a maltratar a los otros siervos y siervas, a comer, a beber y a embriagarse, el día menos pensado y a la hora más inesperada llegará su amo y lo castigará severamente y le hará correr la misma suerte de los desleales.

El siervo que conociendo la voluntad de su amo, no haya preparado ni hecho lo que debía, recibirá muchos azotes; pero el que, sin conocerla, haya hecho algo digno de castigo, recibirá pocos.

Al que mucho se le da, se le exigirá mucho; y al que mucho se le confía, se le exigirá mucho más.

GospelLK 12:39-48

Jesus said to his disciples: 
“Be sure of this:
if the master of the house had known the hour
when the thief was coming,
he would not have let his house be broken into.
You also must be prepared,
for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.”

Then Peter said,
“Lord, is this parable meant for us or for everyone?”
And the Lord replied,
“Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward
whom the master will put in charge of his servants
to distribute the food allowance at the proper time?
Blessed is that servant whom his master on arrival finds doing so.
Truly, I say to you, he will put him
in charge of all his property.
But if that servant says to himself,
‘My master is delayed in coming,’
and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants,
to eat and drink and get drunk,
then that servant’s master will come
on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour
and will punish the servant severely
and assign him a place with the unfaithful.
That servant who knew his master’s will
but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will
shall be beaten severely;
and the servant who was ignorant of his master’s will
but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating
shall be beaten only lightly. 
Much will be required of the person entrusted with much,
and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more.”

Meditacion:

Venia leyendo el evangelio de hoy sin mayores sorpresas; como les dije ayer, en estos dias las lecturas se centran en estar preparados.

Pero la ultima frase del evangelio si me toco de cerca.

"Al que mucho se le da, se le exigirá mucho; y al que mucho se le confía, se le exigirá mucho más"

De repente mire mi vida, todas las cosas maravillosas que Dios me ha dado... mi ministerio, mi parroquia, mi familia... he pasado por momentos oscuros y complicados pero siempre ha estado alli la mano de Dios, sin dejarme caer.

Y de repente me pregunte... cuando comparo cuanto hago por Dios.. compenza lo que Dios me da? la balanza da para mi lado o para el de El?

Esta es la pregunta de hoy dia mis amigos.. trabajamos por Dios lo suficiente?? O solo nos dedicamos a tomar lo que la vida nos pone por delante sin siquiera dar gracias??

Porque como siempre digo solo somos administradores, nada es nuestro y nada nos llevaremos. 

Entonces como va la cuenta? No se asusten si la hacen y se dan cuenta que estan "flojos de amor", cada minuto es un buen momento para cambiar nuestra actitud.

Justamente hoy dia se celebra un santo que fue un gran santo, que dio "todo" en su vida por misionar.. San Antonio Maria Claret que recitaba esta oracion: "Señor y Padre mío, que te conozca y te haga conocer, que te ame y te haga amar, que te sirva y te haga servir, que te alabe y te haga alabar por todas tus criaturas”

Que Dios nos brinde la gracia de tener esas ansias de hacer conocer a Jesus como este Santo las tenia, ese ardor del amor por Dios.

Termino recordando la respuesta que el P. Claret dio a una persona admirada de su inmensa capacidad de trabajo apostólico, quien le preguntó: “¿cómo es posible que pueda hacer tanto? El P. Claret le respondió: “Enamoraos de Jesucristo y del prójimo y haréis cosas mayores”. Allí está el desafío: estar vigilantes para acoger ese amor que es capaz de centrarnos, enamorarnos y comprometernos de lleno en la construcción del Reino de Dios.

“Jesús, Señor mío, me pongo por entero en tus manos para que me utilices como mejor te parezca para la construcción de tu Reino.” Amen

He came reading the gospel today without major surprises; As I said yesterday, in these days the readings are focused on being prepared.

But the last phrase of the gospel if I touch closely.

"To whom much is given, much will be demanded of him, and he who is entrusted with much will be required much more"

Suddenly look at my life, all the wonderful things that God has given me ... my ministry, my parish, my family ... I have gone through dark and complicated times but God's hand has always been there, without letting me fall.

And suddenly I wonder ... when I compare what I do for God ... what does God give me? Is the balance for my side or for him?

This is the question of today my friends .. we work for God enough? Or we just dedicate ourselves to taking what life puts in front of us without even giving thanks?

Because as I always say we are only administrators, nothing is ours and nothing will take us.

So how's the account? Do not be scared if they do it and realize they are "lazy with love", every minute is a good time to change our attitude.

Just today is celebrated a saint who was a great saint, who gave "everything" in his life to be a missionary. Saint Anthony Mary Claret who recited this prayer: "Lord and my Father, who knows you and makes you know, who love and make you love, serve you and make you serve, praise you and make you praise for all your creatures "

May God grant us the grace to have those anxieties to make Jesus known as this Saint had them, that ardor of love for God.

I conclude by recalling the response that Fr. Claret gave to a person admired for his immense capacity for apostolic work, who asked him: "How is it possible that I can do so much? Father Claret replied: "Fall in love with Jesus Christ and your neighbor and you will do greater things." There is the challenge: to be vigilant to welcome that love that is able to focus, fall in love and commit ourselves fully to the construction of the Kingdom of God.

"Jesus, my Lord, I put myself entirely in your hands so that you can use me as you see fit for the construction of your Kingdom." Amen

Atentos y vigilantes

Lc 12, 35-38

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Estén listos, con la túnica puesta y las lámparas encendidas. Sean semejantes a los criados que están esperando a que su señor regrese de la boda, para abrirle en cuanto llegue y toque. Dichosos aquellos a quienes su señor, al llegar, encuentre en vela. Yo les aseguro que se recogerá la túnica, los hará sentar a la mesa y él mismo les servirá. Y si llega a medianoche o a la madrugada y los encuentra en vela, dichosos ellos".

LK 12:35-38

Jesus said to his disciples: 
“Gird your loins and light your lamps
and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding,
ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks.
Blessed are those servants
whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival.
Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself,
have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them.
And should he come in the second or third watch
and find them prepared in this way,
blessed are those servants.”

Meditacion:

"Esten despiertos y vigilantes..." en estos dias leeremos varias veces evangelios referido a este tema, a no distraerse en el camino de elevacion de nuestra alma.

Hemos creado una sociedad en la que la distraccion y el consumo es lo mas importante; parece como si otras cosas como nuestro trabajo incluso queda en segundo plano.. aun en horas de trabajo, consultamos en nuestro celular el facebook o respondemos un mensaje de whatsapp. o vemos un corto video... constantemente estamos consumiendo contenidos que alimentan nuestra almas no siempre con el mejor mensaje.

Y hace mas de 2000 años atras ya Jesus advertia esta tendencia a la distraccion constante y nos prevenia.

Esa atencion de la que habla el evangelio es una mirada  siempre atenta y siempre critica sobre nuestra propia vida... estamos haciendo lo correcto?, estamos tomando los pasos para ser mejores? somos mejor personas hoy que ayer?

Fijense que no hablamos aca  de practicas espirituales, hablamos de algo aun mas basico... ser buena personas con los que nos rodean porque por alli se comienza.

Entonces una cosa llevara a la otra y nos veremos pronto en un camino en el Jesus estara con nosotros.

“Señor, ayúdanos a servirte fielmente para que en el último día recibamos el más excelente de los premios: el gozo supremo de tu presencia.” Amen

"Be awake and vigilant ..." In these days we will read several times gospels referring to this topic, not to be distracted in the way of elevation of our soul.

We have created a society in which distraction and consumption is the most important; it seems as if other things like our work even remain in the background .. even during work hours, we consult our cell phone on facebook or answer a whatsapp message. or we see a short video ... we are constantly consuming contents that feed our souls not always with the best message.

And more than 2000 years ago, Jesus warned of this tendency to constant distraction and prevent us.

That attention of which the gospel speaks is an attentive and always critical look at our own life ... are we doing the right thing? Are we taking the steps to be better? Are we better people today than yesterday?

Notice that we do not talk here about spiritual practices, we talk about something even more basic ... to be good people with those around us because that's where it starts.

Then one thing will lead to the other and we will see each other soon on a path where Jesus will be with us.

"Lord, help us to serve you faithfully so that on the last day we receive the most excellent of prizes: the supreme joy of your presence." Amen

Let's be givers, no takers

Lc 12, 13-21

En aquel tiempo, hallándose Jesús en medio de una multitud, un hombre le dijo: "Maestro, dile a mi hermano que comparta conmigo la herencia". Pero Jesús le contestó: "Amigo, ¿quién me ha puesto como juez en la distribución de herencias?"

Y dirigiéndose a la multitud, dijo: "Eviten toda clase de avaricia, porque la vida del hombre no depende de la abundancia de los bienes que posea".

Después les propuso esta parábola: "Un hombre rico tuvo una gran cosecha y se puso a pensar: '¿Qué haré, porque no tengo ya en dónde almacenar la cosecha? Ya sé lo que voy a hacer: derribaré mis graneros y construiré otros más grandes para guardar ahí mi cosecha y todo lo que tengo. Entonces podré decirme: Ya tienes bienes acumulados para muchos años; descansa, come, bebe y date a la buena vida'. Pero Dios le dijo: '¡Insensato! Esta misma noche vas a morir. ¿Para quién serán todos tus bienes?' Lo mismo le pasa al que amontona riquezas para sí mismo y no se hace rico de lo que vale ante Dios"

Gospel LK 12:13-21

Someone in the crowd said to Jesus,
“Teacher, tell my brother to share the inheritance with me.”
He replied to him,
“Friend, who appointed me as your judge and arbitrator?”
Then he said to the crowd,
“Take care to guard against all greed,
for though one may be rich,
one’s life does not consist of possessions.”

Then he told them a parable.
“There was a rich man whose land produced a bountiful harvest.
He asked himself, ‘What shall I do,
for I do not have space to store my harvest?’
And he said, ‘This is what I shall do:
I shall tear down my barns and build larger ones.
There I shall store all my grain and other goods
and I shall say to myself, “Now as for you,
you have so many good things stored up for many years,
rest, eat, drink, be merry!”’
But God said to him,
‘You fool, this night your life will be demanded of you;
and the things you have prepared, to whom will they belong?’
Thus will it be for the one who stores up treasure for himself
but is not rich in what matters to God.”

Meditacion:

Me ha tocado a veces por mi trabajo conocer a personas que por años preparan un barco porque su sueño es ir a navegar.. y pasan mucho tiempo preparandolo, literalmente, años, sobre todo, porque es muy caro hacer una tarea de ese tipo.

Luego un dia, cuando tienen todo casi listo, se enferman y fallecen... y nunca disfrutaron de ese sueño. Lo he visto una y otra vez.

Este pasage del evangelio es brutalmente honesto  en cuanto a que es importante cultivar y ahorrar en esta vida.

No nos dice Jesus aca que vivamos de mala manera, sin dinero, siendo absolutamente pobres.. vivimos en una sociedad que no es lo suficientemente generosa con sus miembros por lo que debemos contar con algo de dinero para nuestras necesidades. Pero hay una enorme distancia entre tener algo de dinero para cualquier emergencia y acumular de una manera obsena dinero.. o pertenencias.. lo mismo da.

La unica fuente inagotable para repartir en este mundo es el amor de Dios, cuanto mas damos, mas parece reproducirse.

Hermanos, dejemos de preocuparnos tanto por lo que tenemos o lo que poseemos y preocupemonos un poquito mas por lo que damos, no vivamos esta vida siendo los que tomamos de la mesa sino los que aportamos a la mesa comun. Amen

It has been my job sometimes to meet people who for years prepare a boat because their dream is to go sailing ... and spend a lot of time preparing it, literally, years, especially, because it is very expensive to do a task of that type.

Then one day, when they have everything almost ready, they get sick and die ... and they never enjoyed that dream. I've seen it again and again.

This gospel passage is brutally honest about the importance of cultivating and saving in this life.

Jesus does not tell us here that we live in a bad way, without money, being absolutely poor. We live in a society that is not generous enough with its members, so we must have some money for our needs. But there is a huge gap between having some money for any emergency and accumulating in an obscene way money .. or belongings .. the same thing happens.

The only inexhaustible source to distribute in this world is the love of God, the more we give, the more it seems to reproduce.

Brothers, let's stop worrying so much about what we have or what we have and worry a little more for what we give, let's not live this life being those we take from the table but those we bring to the common table. Amen

Reconciendo a Jesus

Lc 12, 8-12

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Yo les aseguro que a todo aquel que me reconozca abiertamente ante los hombres, lo reconocerá abiertamente el Hijo del hombre ante los ángeles de Dios; pero a aquel que me niegue ante los hombres, yo lo negaré ante los ángeles de Dios.

A todo aquel que diga una palabra contra el Hijo del hombre, se le perdonará; pero a aquel que blasfeme contra el Espíritu Santo, no se le perdonará.

Cuando los lleven a las sinagogas y ante los jueces y autoridades, no se preocupen de cómo se van a defender o qué van a decir, porque el Espíritu Santo les enseñará en aquel momento lo que convenga decir''.

GospelLK 12:8-12

Jesus said to his disciples: 
"I tell you,
everyone who acknowledges me before others
the Son of Man will acknowledge before the angels of God.
But whoever denies me before others
will be denied before the angels of God.

"Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven,
but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit
will not be forgiven.
When they take you before synagogues and before rulers and authorities,
do not worry about how or what your defense will be
or about what you are to say. 
For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment what you should say."

Meditacion:

No es lo mismo seguir a Jesús en espacios y tiempos tranquilos que seguirlo en condiciones de amenaza y persecución. Algunas palabras de Jesús sólo comienzan a ser inteligibles cuando experimentamos dificultades a causa de su nombre; por ejemplo, las que leemos en el evangelio de hoy. ¿Qué significa ponerse de parte de Cristo delante de los hombres? ¿Cómo dar testimonio de él sin arrogancia pero también sin temor al ridículo, sin falsos pudores, sin vergüenza?

A veces los creyentes podemos dar la sensación de que, en el fondo, no creemos lo que decimos creer. Cuando se presentan las ocasiones de decir una palabra clara, o de realizar un gesto oportuno, nos retiramos por temor a ser tildados de ... ¿de qué? Esto les sucede a menudo a muchos cristianos famosos que se mueven en el terreno de la política, de la economía, de la ciencia, de las artes, del deporte. No es que vivan su fe con discreción: es que la viven de manera vergonzante, a escondidas, como si temieran perder relieve social por manifestarse humildemente seguidores de Cristo.

Pero no sólo los famosos. Este temor puede asaltarnos a todos nosotros. Si así fuera, significaría que estimamos en muy poco nuestra fe. O que preferimos la aceptación social a la autenticidad de manifestar lo que somos.

Cuando nos dejamos llevar por el temor no dejamos espacio al Espíritu Santo. Cuando hablamos nosotros, no permitimos que el Espíritu nos enseñe "lo que tenemos que decir". El resultado es una tranquilidad personal aparente y una ocasión perdida para el evangelio.

“Ven, Espíritu Santo, llena los corazones de tus fieles y enciende en ellos el fuego de tu amor. Envía tu Espíritu, Señor, y todo será creado, y renovarás la faz de la tierra.” Amen

It is not the same to follow Jesus in quiet spaces and times than to follow him in conditions of threat and persecution. Some words of Jesus only begin to be intelligible when we experience difficulties because of his name; for example, the ones we read in today's Gospel. What does it mean to stand on the side of Christ before men? How to bear witness to him without arrogance but also without fear of ridicule, without false modesty, without shame?

Sometimes believers can give the feeling that, deep down, we do not believe what we say we believe. When there are occasions to say a clear word, or to make a timely gesture, we retire for fear of being labeled as ... of what? This often happens to many famous Christians who move in the field of politics, economics, science, the arts, sports. It is not that they live their faith with discretion: it is that they live it in a shameful way, secretly, as if they were afraid of losing social relief because they humbly showed themselves followers of Christ.

But not only celebrities. This fear can assault all of us. If so, it would mean that we estimate our faith very little. Or that we prefer social acceptance to the authenticity of manifesting what we are.

When we let ourselves be carried away by fear, we do not leave room for the Holy Spirit. When we speak, we do not allow the Spirit to teach us "what we have to say". The result is an apparent personal tranquility and a lost opportunity for the gospel.

"Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send your Spirit, Lord, and everything will be created, and you will renew the face of the earth. "Amen

Hipocresia

Lc 12, 1-7

En aquel tiempo, la multitud rodeaba a Jesús en tan gran número que se atropellaban unos a otros. Entonces Jesús les dijo a sus discípulos:

"Cuídense de la levadura de los fariseos, es decir de la hipocresía. Porque no hay nada oculto que no llegue a descubrirse, ni nada secreto que no llegue a conocerse. Por eso, todo lo que ustedes hayan dicho en la oscuridad, se dirá a plena luz, y lo que hayan dicho en voz baja y en privado, se proclamará desde las azoteas.

Yo les digo a ustedes, amigos míos: No teman a aquellos que matan el cuerpo y después ya no pueden hacer nada más. Les voy a decir a quién han de temer: Teman a aquel que, después de darles muerte, los puede arrojar al lugar de castigo. Se lo repito: A él sí tienen que temerlo.

¿No se venden cinco pajarillos por dos monedas? Sin embargo, ni de uno solo de ellos se olvida Dios; y por lo que a ustedes toca, todos los cabellos de su cabeza están contados. No teman, pues, porque ustedes valen mucho más que todos los pajarillos''.

GospelLK 12:1-7

At that time:
So many people were crowding together 
that they were trampling one another underfoot.
Jesus began to speak, first to his disciples,
"Beware of the leaven–that is, the hypocrisy–of the Pharisees.

"There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed,
nor secret that will not be known.
Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness
will be heard in the light,
and what you have whispered behind closed doors
will be proclaimed on the housetops.
I tell you, my friends,
do not be afraid of those who kill the body
but after that can do no more.
I shall show you whom to fear.
Be afraid of the one who after killing
has the power to cast into Gehenna;
yes, I tell you, be afraid of that one.
Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins?
Yet not one of them has escaped the notice of God.
Even the hairs of your head have all been counted.
Do not be afraid.
You are worth more than many sparrows."

Meditaciones:

La cita no tiene trampa. El que cuenta el número de las estrellas y la arena de las playas marinas, ¿no va a tener contados los pelos de tu cabeza?

Me dirás: "yo no tengo madera de mártir". Ya somos dos. Pero, después de leer estas palabras, me pregunto: "¿cómo escuchas  las palabras de tu maestro y tu Señor? ¿es que son para ti esa semilla que cae al borde del camino?, ¿o la que cae entre zarzas? ¿No sabes que las palabras de Jesús van dirigidas al hombre entero y que han de llegar al corazón, un corazón bueno, para que puedan dar fruto?". Y si me pregunto de nuevo, con perplejidad y algo de azoramiento, qué es un corazón bueno, me doy cuenta de que necesito meditarlo. Pero, por de pronto, advierto que será un corazón que está abierto a la Palabra; y que esta apertura es algo más que la memorización de unas cuantas frases bonitas del evangelio, y que el encuentro con la Palabra sólo se da en el cor ad cor (el corazón a corazón) con ella.

También me parece bueno añadir dos "coletillas": de momento, no es necesario que me mese los cabellos, ni siquiera que me desmelene; pero tampoco he de preocuparme si en las luchas de la vida salgo ligeramente despeinado. No tengo por qué aparentar ser uno de esos héroes de película que, efectivamente, salen de las más arduas peleas tan indemnes que no se les despeina el pelo. No me fío de esos guionistas y directores que por no sé qué trucos consiguen que sus "buenos" salgan siempre tan guapos, tan elegantes y con el pelo tan arreglado en los fotogramas.

“Padre celestial, te doy gracias por tu amor y tu cuidado. Enséñame, Señor, a creer y aceptar tu amor para no sentirme lleno de vergüenza ni temor.” Amen

The appointment has no trap. The one that counts the number of stars and the sand of the marine beaches, is not going to have counted the hairs of your head?

You will say to me: "I do not have wood as a martyr". We are two now. But, after reading these words, I ask myself: "How do you listen to the words of your master and your Lord? Is it for you that seed that falls at the edge of the road? Or the one that falls among brambles? Do you know that the words of Jesus are addressed to the whole man and that they must reach the heart, a good heart, so that they can bear fruit? ". And if I ask myself again, with perplexity and some embarrassment, what is a good heart, I realize that I need to meditate on it. But, suddenly, I notice that it will be a heart that is open to the Word; and that this opening is something more than the memorization of a few beautiful phrases of the gospel, and that the encounter with the Word is only given in the cor ad cor (heart to heart) with it.

It also seems good to add two "coletillas": at the moment, it is not necessary that I brush my hair, not even that I dismele; but I also do not have to worry if in the struggles of life I go slightly disheveled. I do not have to pretend to be one of those movie heroes that, in fact, come out of the most arduous fights so unscathed that they do not ruffle their hair. I do not trust those screenwriters and directors who, because I do not know what tricks get their "good" out always so handsome, so elegant and hair so arranged in the frames.

"Heavenly Father, I thank you for your love and your care. Teach me, Lord, to believe and accept your love so as not to feel full of shame or fear. "Amen

Nos manda al camino...

Lc 10, 1-9

En aquel tiempo, Jesús designó a otros setenta y dos discípulos y los mandó por delante, de dos en dos, a todos los pueblos y lugares a donde pensaba ir, y les dijo: "La cosecha es mucha y los trabajadores pocos. Rueguen, por lo tanto, al dueño de la mies que envíe trabajadores a sus campos. Pónganse en camino; yo los envío como corderos en medio de lobos. No lleven ni dinero ni morral ni sandalias y no se detengan a saludar a nadie por el camino. Cuando entren en una casa digan: 'Que la paz reine en esta casa'. Y si allí hay gente amante de la paz, el deseo de paz de ustedes se cumplirá; si no, no se cumplirá. Quédense en esa casa. Coman y beban de lo que tengan, porque el trabajador tiene derecho a su salario. No anden de casa en casa. En cualquier ciudad donde entren y los reciban, coman lo que les den. Curen a los enfermos que haya y díganles: 'Ya se acerca a ustedes el Reino de Dios' ".

The Lord Jesus appointed seventy-two disciples
whom he sent ahead of him in pairs
to every town and place he intended to visit.

"The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few;
so ask the master of the harvest

Go on your way;
behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves.
Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals;
and greet no one along the way.
Into whatever house you enter,
first say, 'Peace to this household.'
If a peaceful person lives there,
your peace will rest on him;
but if not, it will return to you.

Después de celebrar a Teresa de Jesús y a Ignacio de Antioquia, hoy celebramos a San Lucas. De su persona sabemos muy pocas cosas, pero nos ha quedado una obra maravillosa en dos partes: el tercer evangelio (dedicado al tiempo de Jesús) y los Hechos de los Apóstoles (dedicados al tiempo del Espíritu, que es el tiempo de la iglesia). Leyendo esta obra se pueden adivinar algunas cosas de este cristiano culto y perseverante. Hay dos que me llaman la atención: el "principio misericordia" y el "principio camino".

Es imposible que Lucas tuviera mal carácter. El Jesús que él nos transmite es el rostro visible de un Dios misericordioso. Sólo Lucas nos transmite, por ejemplo, las parábolas del buen samaritano y del hijo pródigo. Sólo Lucas nos transmite algunos rasgos de María, la madre de Jesús, que caen también dentro del "principio misericordia". Su manera de entender y transmitir el evangelio de Jesús conecta bien con los hombres y mujeres de nuestro tiempo, a menudo heridos en el camino que "baja de Jerusalén a Jericó", o pródigos que han emigrado de la casa paterna, o discípulos desalentados que huyen de Jerusalén y buscan refugio en su Emaús de siempre.

El "principio camino" se advierte en su evangelio (que está concebido como un camino que va de Galilea a Jerusalén) y en el libro de los Hechos (que está también concebido como un camino que parte de Jerusalén y expande el evangelio por Judea, Samaría y hasta los confines de la tierra). Pero, más allá de este primer significado "geográfico", el camino es una concepción de la vida cristiana, una manera de entender el seguimiento de Jesús como proceso de configuración con él. También esto conecta con nuestra sensibilidad moderna.
