Jn 4, 43-54
En aquel tiempo, Jesús salió de Samaria y se fue a Galilea. Jesús mismo había declarado que a ningún profeta se le honra en su propia patria. Cuando llegó, los galileos lo recibieron bien, porque habían visto todo lo que él había hecho en Jerusalén durante la fiesta, pues también ellos habían estado allí.
Volvió entonces a Caná de Galilea, donde había convertido el agua en vino. Había allí un funcionario real, que tenía un hijo enfermo en Cafarnaúm. Al oír éste que Jesús había venido de Judea a Galilea, fue a verlo y le rogó que fuera a curar a su hijo, que se estaba muriendo. Jesús le dijo: "Si no ven ustedes signos y prodigios, no creen". Pero el funcionario del rey insistió: "Señor, ven antes de que mi muchachito muera". Jesús le contestó: "Vete, tu hijo ya está sano".
Aquel hombre creyó en la palabra de Jesús y se puso en camino. Cuando iba llegando, sus criados le salieron al encuentro para decirle que su hijo ya estaba sano. Él les preguntó a qué hora había empezado la mejoría. Le contestaron: "Ayer, a la una de la tarde, se le quitó la fiebre". El padre reconoció que a esa misma hora Jesús le había dicho: 'Tu hijo ya está sano', y creyó con todos los de su casa.
Éste fue el segundo señal milagrosa que hizo Jesús al volver de Judea a Galilea.

At that time Jesus left [Samaria] for Galilee.
For Jesus himself testified
that a prophet has no honor in his native place.
When he came into Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him,
since they had seen all he had done in Jerusalem at the feast;
for they themselves had gone to the feast.
Then he returned to Cana in Galilee,
where he had made the water wine.
Now there was a royal official whose son was ill in Capernaum.
When he heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea,
he went to him and asked him to come down
and heal his son, who was near death.
Jesus said to him,
“Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will not believe.”
The royal official said to him,
“Sir, come down before my child dies.”
Jesus said to him, “You may go; your son will live.”
The man believed what Jesus said to him and left.
While the man was on his way back,
his slaves met him and told him that his boy would live.
He asked them when he began to recover.
They told him,
“The fever left him yesterday, about one in the afternoon.”
The father realized that just at that time Jesus had said to him,
“Your son will live,”
and he and his whole household came to believe.
Now this was the second sign Jesus did
when he came to Galilee from Judea.

Meditacion:
Este fin de semana estuve en un retiro de conversion.
Tuve el privilegio y la oportunidad de ver como el Espiritu Santo se manifestaba en personas jovenes y maduras que estaban algunas muy alejadas de la Iglesia y de Dios y otras, en un estado de tibieza absoluta.
Vi como el fuego de la conversion los ganaba y el evangelio de hoy viene a certificar este hecho. No es necesario que Jesus venga a nosotros a curarnos, si se pide con fe, se consigue lo pedido.
La experiencia de dolor que este padre estaba pasando se convirtio en una experiencia de salvacion/sanacion para el... muchas veces en nuestra vida pasamos por experiencias asi, no siempre aprendemos lo que debemos.
Y es por eso que Jesus exclama «Si no veis signos y prodigios, no creéis». Tener fe es un don del Espiritu Santo y debemos orar porque nos sea concedido, Para la persona de fe, la vida diaria es el cielo en la tierra.
Pensemos este padre no necesitó signos extraordinarios. Le bastó la palabra y la fe. Se fio de la palabra de Jesús, se dejó guiar por su fe y, al regresar a su casa, encontró a su hijo vivo.
No falta mucho para la Pascua, aun es tiempo de realizar un profundo acto de contrición y una buena confesión que limpie nuestra alma y abra las ventanas al Espíritu Santo. Amen
This weekend I was in a conversion retreat.
I had the privilege and the opportunity to see how the Holy Spirit manifested itself in young and mature people who were some far removed from the Church and from God and others, in a state of absolute lukewarmness.
I saw how the fire of conversion earned them and the gospel of today comes to certify this fact. It is not necessary that Jesus come to us to heal us, if it is requested with faith, the requested is achieved.
The experience of pain that this father was going through became an experience of salvation / healing for him ... many times in our life we go through experiences like this, we do not always learn what we owe.
And that is why Jesus exclaims "If you do not see signs and wonders, you do not believe." Having faith is a gift of the Holy Spirit and we must pray that it be granted to us. For the person of faith, daily life is heaven on earth.
Let's think this father did not need extraordinary signs. Word and faith were enough for him. He trusted the word of Jesus, let himself be guided by his faith and, upon returning home, found his son alive.
There is not much left for Easter, it is still time to make a profound act of contrition and a good confession that cleanses our soul and opens the windows to the Holy Spirit. Amen
