Jn 5, 17-30
En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a los judíos (que lo perseguían por hacer curaciones en sábado): "Mi Padre trabaja siempre y yo también trabajo". Por eso los judíos buscaban con mayor empeño darle muerte, ya que no sólo violaba el sábado, sino que llamaba Padre suyo a Dios, igualándose así con Dios.
Entonces Jesús les habló en estos términos: "Yo les aseguro: El Hijo no puede hacer nada por su cuenta y sólo hace lo que le ve hacer al Padre; lo que hace el Padre también lo hace el Hijo. El Padre ama al Hijo y le manifiesta todo lo que hace; le manifestará obras todavía mayores que éstas, para asombro de ustedes. Así como el Padre resucita a los muertos y les da la vida, así también el Hijo da la vida a quien él quiere dársela. El Padre no juzga a nadie, porque todo juicio se lo ha dado al Hijo, para que todos honren al Hijo, como honran al Padre. El que no honra al Hijo tampoco honra al Padre.
Yo les aseguro que, quien escucha mi palabra y cree en el que me envió, tiene vida eterna y no será condenado en el juicio, porque ya pasó de la muerte a la vida.
Les aseguro que viene la hora, y ya está aquí, en que los muertos oirán la voz del Hijo de Dios, y los que la hayan oído vivirán. Pues así como el Padre tiene la vida en sí mismo, también le ha dado al Hijo tener la vida en sí mismo; y le ha dado el poder de juzgar, porque es el Hijo del hombre.
No se asombren de esto, porque viene la hora en que todos los que yacen en la tumba oirán mi voz y resucitarán: los que hicieron el bien para la vida; los que hicieron el mal, para la condenación. Yo nada puedo hacer por mí mismo. Según lo que oigo, juzgo; y mi juicio es justo, porque no busco mi voluntad, sino la voluntad del que me envió".

Jesus answered the Jews:
"My Father is at work until now, so I am at work."
For this reason they tried all the more to kill him,
because he not only broke the sabbath
but he also called God his own father, making himself equal to God.
Jesus answered and said to them,
"Amen, amen, I say to you, the Son cannot do anything on his own,
but only what he sees the Father doing;
for what he does, the Son will do also.
For the Father loves the Son
and shows him everything that he himself does,
and he will show him greater works than these,
so that you may be amazed.
For just as the Father raises the dead and gives life,
so also does the Son give life to whomever he wishes.
Nor does the Father judge anyone,
but he has given all judgment to the Son,
so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father.
Whoever does not honor the Son
does not honor the Father who sent him.
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word
and believes in the one who sent me
has eternal life and will not come to condemnation,
but has passed from death to life.
Amen, amen, I say to you, the hour is coming and is now here
when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God,
and those who hear will live.
For just as the Father has life in himself,
so also he gave to the Son the possession of life in himself.
And he gave him power to exercise judgment,
because he is the Son of Man.
Do not be amazed at this,
because the hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs
will hear his voice and will come out,
those who have done good deeds
to the resurrection of life,
but those who have done wicked deeds
to the resurrection of condemnation.
"I cannot do anything on my own;
I judge as I hear, and my judgment is just,
because I do not seek my own will
but the will of the one who sent me."

Meditation:
En este caminar diario hacia la Pascua, se nos va revelando el misterio maximoque la entrega de Jesús en la cruz pone de manifiesto al mundo: el misterio del amor divino hacia nosotros.
En cada gesto y actitud de Jesus descubrimos el amor misericordioso que Dios tiene hacia el hijo y hacia cada uno de nosotros.
Es este misterio, incomprensible para la mente humana, el que aun hoy dia nos sigue admirando; en Filipenses 2:8 nos lo muestra claramente: " y estando en la condición de hombre, se humilló a sí mismo, haciéndose obediente hasta la muerte, y muerte de cruz."
Jesus nos muestra el camino para llegar a El.. el amor misericordioso, eterno, impavido que nos debe mover cada dia para hacer el bien y amar a nuestros hermanos.
Jesus ama al Padre, y no cae en falsas reglas que limitan hacer el bien. Para los judios, el sabado era (es) sagrado pero para Jesus no era un limitante para hacer el bien.. y nada debe serlo..
Pensemos por un minuto que "sabados" tenemos en nuestras vidas que nos impiden hacer el bien? que cosas deberiamos cambiar que no nos permiten tocar de una manera imperfecta pero amorosa el corazon de otra persona?
Porque no nos salvamos solos, nos salvamos ejercitando la misericordia de nuestro creador sobre cada persona.. con amor, con alegria en el servicio se entra en el Reino de los Cielos.
“Yo no puedo hacer nada por mi propia cuenta… no trato de hacer mi voluntad sino la voluntad del Padre que me ha enviado” dice en Juan 5, 30. Esta es la clave para nosotros también: hacer la voluntad de Cristo antes que la nuestra, demostrando amor, fe y humildad. Amen
In this daily walk towards Easter, the greatest mystery is revealed to us that the surrender of Jesus on the cross reveals the world: the mystery of divine love towards us.
In every gesture and attitude of Jesus we discover the merciful love that God has for the son and each one of us.
It is this mystery, incomprehensible to the human mind, which even today continues to admire us; in Philippians 2: 8 he clearly shows it to us: "and being in the condition of a man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, and death on a cross."
Jesus shows us the way to reach Him ... the merciful, eternal, impassioned love that should move us every day to do good and love our brothers.
Jesus loves the Father, and does not fall into false rules that limit doing good. For the Jews, the Sabbath was (is) sacred but for Jesus it was not a limitation to do good ... and nothing should be ..
Think for a minute that "sabados" we have in our lives that prevent us from doing good? What things should we change that do not allow us to touch in an imperfect but loving way the heart of another person?
Because we do not save ourselves, we save ourselves by exercising the mercy of our creator on each person ... with love, with joy in service, we enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
"I can not do anything on my own ... I do not try to do my will but the will of the Father who sent me" says in John 5:30. This is the key for us too: doing the will of Christ before the our, demonstrating love, faith and humility. Amen
