Jn 6, 22-29

GospelJN 6:22-29
[After Jesus had fed the five thousand men, his disciples saw him walking on the sea.]
The next day, the crowd that remained across the sea
saw that there had been only one boat there,
and that Jesus had not gone along with his disciples in the boat,
but only his disciples had left.
Other boats came from Tiberias
near the place where they had eaten the bread
when the Lord gave thanks.
When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there,
they themselves got into boats
and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus.
And when they found him across the sea they said to him,
“Rabbi, when did you get here?”
Jesus answered them and said,
“Amen, amen, I say to you, you are looking for me
not because you saw signs
but because you ate the loaves and were filled.
Do not work for food that perishes
but for the food that endures for eternal life,
which the Son of Man will give you.
For on him the Father, God, has set his seal.”
So they said to him,
“What can we do to accomplish the works of God?”
Jesus answered and said to them,
“This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent.”

Meditacion:
Amen

Christ in today's Gospel clearly speaks of the need to work for "food that does not perish", understand, our own sanctity.
In today's society we tend to be disconnected from our spiritual life for much of the day; the obligations, the family, the work, in an insistent bombardment of contents by social networks, makes us live in a constant state of emotional insensibility. We see photos, reports, videos of wars, death and destruction and, simply, we do not react emotionally to that; Sometimes it seems distant and it does not affect us.
And one day follows another and it seems that we do not find him back ... many of us want to "put" Jesus at the head of our life but we do not know where to start.
The first thing, is to say it, to surrender to Him; in a sincere prayer, to tell him that we give him our life to fulfill our destiny, be it that he is ... and not fall behind because Jesus listens and guides.
The second thing is to be very selective that we let it affect us, that we consume. Reduce our time in front of social networks, and begin, above all, to load each word with meaning, each phrase we say; think more, react less. And finally, increase our spiritual practices .. pray more, read the gospel, go to mass. I assure you that if we follow those practices, our life and our vision of the world will change completely.
And we will arrive at what Jesus tells us in the last phrase of today's Gospel:
«The work of God is this: that you believe in the one he has sent».
Amen
