Y.. que signo haces tu??

Jn 6, 30-35

En aquel tiempo, la gente le preguntó a Jesús: "¿Qué signo vas a realizar tú, para que lo veamos y podamos creerte? ¿Cuáles son tus obras? Nuestros padres comieron el maná en el desierto, como está escrito: Les dio a comer pan del cielo".
Jesús les respondió: "Yo les aseguro: No fue Moisés quien les dio pan del cielo; es mi Padre quien les da el verdadero pan del cielo. Porque el pan de Dios es aquel que baja del cielo y da la vida al mundo".

Entonces le dijeron: "Señor, danos siempre de ese pan". Jesús les contestó: "Yo soy el pan de la vida. El que viene a mí no tendrá hambre, y el que cree en mí nunca tendrá sed".

The crowd said to Jesus:
"What sign can you do, that we may see and believe in you?
What can you do?
Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as it is written:
He gave them bread from heaven to eat."
So Jesus said to them,
"Amen, amen, I say to you,
it was not Moses who gave the bread from heaven;
my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 
For the bread of God is that which comes down from heaven
and gives life to the world."
So they said to Jesus,
"Sir, give us this bread always." 
Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life;
whoever comes to me will never hunger,
and whoever believes in me will never thirst."

Meditacion:

Leemos de "La palabra entre nosotros" esta bellisima reflexion sobre el evangelio de hoy:

"Probablemente Jesús suspiraba durante este diálogo. “¿Qué signo vas a realizar?” preguntaba la gente. ¿Ya se habían olvidado de que había dado de comer a cinco mil personas en la ladera del monte? Pero ellos se referían a aquella época en que sus antepasados cruzaban el desierto y el maná apareció en respuesta a las oraciones de Moisés. Les resultaba conveniente olvidarse del dolor y la dificultad de todos esos años de peregrinación sin rumbo fijo y de la frustración de Dios al ver la falta de confianza y fe de la gente. Ahora pareciera que Jesús les decía: “¡Despierten! Vuelvan al presente. Dios les ofrece comida ahora mismo.” 

Es una gran tentación idealizar lo que Dios hizo en el pasado y no ver lo que está haciendo hoy entre sus hijos. Recordemos cómo Dios nos trajo a la Iglesia, cómo curó a alguien por quien rezamos, cómo abrió la puerta hacia un nuevo trabajo para nosotros, cómo nos ayudó a encontrar a nuestro marido o esposa, o a discernir una vocación a la vida religiosa. ¡Estas son historias maravillosas con finales felices! 

Pero ¿qué está haciendo Dios con nosotros ahora mismo? Quizás te está haciendo salir de tu zona de comodidad para ponerte en contacto con una persona con quien no tienes nada en común para que le lleves el mensaje de la salvación. Tal vez te hace ver que tienes la tendencia a murmurar o criticar a otros. ¿Te está llevando a estudiar y profundizar en una parte de la Escritura que nunca has entendido? No es fácil ser paciente con gente tan imperfecta, como tú y yo, ¿verdad? La mayoría preferimos rodearnos de quienes nos simpatizan y no preocuparnos de los demás. 

La lectura de hoy nos dice que, aun cuando la obra de Cristo en la cruz está terminada, no es algo que permanezca en el pasado, porque él mismo nos invita a acudir a su lado hoy y cada día, a quedarnos con él, alimentarnos de él y seguir creciendo en nuestra unión con Dios. ¡Hay tanto más que el Señor nos quiere dar! “Vengan a mí,” nos invita. “Yo soy tu Pan de la Vida.” Jesucristo es, en realidad, la luz y la vida del mundo, y también quiere serlo para ti. Todo lo que tienes que hacer es pedirle que venga a tu corazón." Amen

We read of "The word among us" this beautiful reflection on the gospel of today:

"Probably Jesus sighed during this dialogue." What sign are you going to make? "People asked, had they already forgotten that he had fed five thousand people on the hillside? that their ancestors crossed the desert and the manna appeared in response to the prayers of Moses, it was convenient for them to forget about the pain and difficulty of all those years of pilgrimage without fixed direction and of the frustration of God to see the lack of confidence and faith Now it seems that Jesus was saying to them, "Wake up, come back to the present, God offers you food right now."

It is a great temptation to idealize what God did in the past and not see what he is doing today among his children. Remember how God brought us to the Church, how he healed someone for whom we prayed, how he opened the door to a new job for us, how he helped us find our husband or wife, or to discern a vocation to religious life. These are wonderful stories with happy endings!

But what is God doing with us right now? Perhaps it is causing you to leave your comfort zone to get in touch with a person with whom you have nothing in common so that you can bring him the message of salvation. Maybe it makes you see that you have the tendency to murmur or criticize others. Is it leading you to study and deepen a part of the Scripture that you have never understood? It is not easy to be patient with such imperfect people, like you and me, right? Most of us prefer to surround ourselves with those who sympathize with us and not worry about others.

Today's reading tells us that, even though the work of Christ on the cross is finished, it is not something that remains in the past, because he invites us to come to his side today and every day, to stay with him, to feed ourselves of him and keep growing in our union with God. There is so much more that the Lord wants to give us! "Come to me," he invites us. "I am your Bread of Life." Jesus Christ is, in reality, the light and life of the world, and he also wants to be it for you. All you have to do is ask him to come to your heart. "Amen
