Solo somos eternidad

Jn 6, 1-15

En aquel tiempo, Jesús se fue a la otra orilla del mar de Galilea o lago de Tiberíades. Lo seguía mucha gente, porque habían visto los signos que hacía curando a los enfermos. Jesús subió al monte y se sentó allí con sus discípulos.

Estaba cerca la Pascua, festividad de los judíos. Viendo Jesús que mucha gente lo seguía, le dijo a Felipe: "¿Cómo compraremos pan para que coman éstos?" Le hizo esta pregunta para ponerlo a prueba, pues él bien sabía lo que iba a hacer. Felipe le respondió: "Ni doscientos denarios de pan bastarían para que a cada uno le tocara un pedazo de pan". Otro de sus discípulos, Andrés, el hermano de Simón Pedro, le dijo: "Aquí hay un muchacho que trae cinco panes de cebada y dos pescados. Pero, ¿qué es eso para tanta gente?" Jesús le respondió: "Díganle a la gente que se siente". En aquel lugar había mucha hierba. Todos, pues, se sentaron ahí; y tan sólo los hombres eran unos cinco mil.

Enseguida tomó Jesús los panes, y después de dar gracias a Dios, se los fue repartiendo a los que se habían sentado a comer. Igualmente les fue dando de los pescados todo lo que quisieron. Después de que todos se saciaron, dijo a sus discípulos: "Recojan los pedazos sobrantes, para que no se desperdicien". Los recogieron y con los pedazos que sobraron de los cinco panes llenaron doce canastos.

Entonces la gente, al ver el signo que Jesús había hecho, decía: "Éste es, en verdad, el profeta que habría de venir al mundo". Pero Jesús, sabiendo que iban a llevárselo para proclamarlo rey, se retiró de nuevo a la montaña, él solo.

GospelJN 6:1-15

Jesus went across the Sea of Galilee.
A large crowd followed him,
because they saw the signs he was performing on the sick.
Jesus went up on the mountain,
and there he sat down with his disciples. 
The Jewish feast of Passover was near.
When Jesus raised his eyes and saw that a large crowd was coming to him,
he said to Philip, "Where can we buy enough food for them to eat?"
He said this to test him,
because he himself knew what he was going to do.
Philip answered him,
"Two hundred days' wages worth of food would not be enough
for each of them to have a little."
One of his disciples,
Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to him,
"There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish;
but what good are these for so many?"
Jesus said, "Have the people recline." 
Now there was a great deal of grass in that place. 
So the men reclined, about five thousand in number.
Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks,
and distributed them to those who were reclining,
and also as much of the fish as they wanted.
When they had had their fill, he said to his disciples,
"Gather the fragments left over,
so that nothing will be wasted."
So they collected them,
and filled twelve wicker baskets with fragments
from the five barley loaves that had been more than they could eat.
When the people saw the sign he had done, they said,
"This is truly the Prophet, the one who is to come into the world." 
Since Jesus knew that they were going to come and carry him off
to make him king,
he withdrew again to the mountain alone.

Meditacion:

En estos dias la primera lectura refiere a como los apostoles no podian dejar de proclamar el evangelio y toda la oposicion que se les presentaba de parte de la jerarquia religiosa.

Hoy finalmente, uno de los maestros de la ley judia, hablando al sanedrin les dice "no os metáis con esos hombres; soltadlos. Si su idea y su actividad son cosa de hombres, se disolverá; pero, si es cosa de Dios, no lograréis destruirlos, y os expondríais a luchar contra Dios».

Y en el evangelio contemplamos la multiplicacion de los peces y los panes. 

Anoche escribia sobre como la desesperanza nos quita el amor de Dios porque lo sacamos del centro de nuestra vida.

Y es que sin Dios como centro y guia de nuestro quehacer diario, los desafios terrenales a veces nos superan.

"Con Dios todo, sin Dios nada" deberia ser el slogan de nuestras vidas. Si ponemos a Dios en el centro de ella, nuestro futuro, sin duda, sera de gloria.

Pero al igual que los apostoles que no comprendian como iban a hacer para alimentar a 5000 personas, a veces solo vemos lo inmediato, lo material y dejamos de lado "the big picture", la gran pintura, el paisaje total.

Somos eternidad, cada paso que damos tratemos de verlo en ese sentido.. si logramos vivir una vida bendecida por el Amor del Padre, nada nos parecera tan pesado ni tan imposible sencillamente porque para Dios nada es imposible. Amen

In these days the first reading refers to how the apostles could not stop proclaiming the gospel and all the opposition that was presented to them by the religious hierarchy.

Today, finally, one of the teachers of the Jewish law, speaking to the Sanhedrin, tells them "do not get involved with these men, let them go." If his idea and activity are human, it will dissolve, but if it is God's thing, you will destroy them, and you will expose yourself to fight against God ».

And in the gospel we contemplate the multiplication of fish and bread.

Last night I wrote about how hopelessness takes away the love of God because we take it out of the center of our lives.

And without God as the center and guide of our daily work, earthly challenges sometimes surpass us.

"With God everything, without God nothing" should be the slogan of our lives. If we put God at the center of it, our future will undoubtedly be of glory.

But like the apostles who did not understand how they were going to do to feed 5000 people, sometimes we only see the immediate, the material and leave aside "the big picture", the great painting, the total landscape.

We are eternity, every step we take we try to see it in that sense .. if we manage to live a life blessed by the Love of the Father, nothing will seem so heavy or so impossible simply because nothing is impossible for God. Amen
