Aun tengo mucho que contarles....

Jn 16, 12-15

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Aún tengo muchas cosas que decirles, pero todavía no las pueden comprender. Pero cuando venga el Espíritu de la verdad, él los irá guiando hasta la verdad plena, porque no hablará por su cuenta, sino que dirá lo que haya oído y les anunciará las cosas que van a suceder. Él me glorificará, porque primero recibirá de mí lo que les vaya comunicando. Todo lo que tiene el Padre es mío. Por eso he dicho que tomará de lo mío y se lo comunicará a ustedes".

"I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.
But when he comes, the Spirit of truth,
he will guide you to all truth.
He will not speak on his own,
but he will speak what he hears,
and will declare to you the things that are coming.
He will glorify me,
because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.
Everything that the Father has is mine;
for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine
and declare it to you."

Meditacion:

Aún tengo muchas cosas que decirles. (Juan 16, 12)

Casi todos hemos visto los anuncios comerciales de televisión que dicen: “Pero, espere. ¡Aún hay más para usted!” Jesús tiene algo más para ti también, y lo que es mejor, no tienes que pagar impuestos ni gastos de envío.

Cuando Jesús les dijo estas cosas a los discípulos, sabía que ellos estaban inquietos y preocupados por el futuro. Acababa de decirles que se iba y que después de haberse ido, seguramente ellos experimentarían más oposición y persecución. ¡No era poca cosa! Todo lo que habían aprendido de Jesús y experimentado por sí mismos no parecía ser suficiente ante la perspectiva de la vida sin su guía, su enseñanza y su protección.

¿No te sientes tú así a veces también? Todos pasamos por circunstancias en las que quisiéramos que el Señor estuviera allí con nosotros, y nos guiara como lo había hecho con los apóstoles. ¡Qué alentadora es, precisamente por eso, la promesa de que el Espíritu Santo estará allí para guiarnos en la verdad!

Podemos imaginarnos que estamos frente a Jesús y que él nos dice: “Sí, me voy, pero aquí hay alguien que les va a seguir enseñando y mostrándoles mi amor. ¡Escúchenlo y sigan su guía!”

Por supuesto, no escuchamos la voz del Señor con claridad como que su sonido llegara a nuestros oídos. Lo más probable es que el Espíritu Santo nos hable interiormente, en la intimidad de nuestros pensamientos.

En realidad, el Espíritu nos habla de muchas maneras diferentes. Quizás hoy tú experimentes paz en cuanto a una decisión que tengas que tomar. Esa paz podría ser obra del Espíritu. Si tienes una situación difícil que resolver o estás en una conversación estresante, de repente se te puede venir a la mente un verso de un himno que te alegre el corazón. Eso también podría ser el Espíritu en acción. Un pasaje de la Escritura leído en Misa podría darte una comprensión nueva de cómo ayudar a uno de tus hijos. Eso también podría ser el Espíritu. O bien, un amigo te puede ofrecer un consejo sabio que te llega al corazón. De nuevo, eso podría ser obra del Espíritu.

Tú eres una singular creación de Dios, y él te irá enseñando cosas que se ajusten a cómo él te hizo. Palabras, imágenes, amigos, sentimientos… ¡El Espíritu Santo puede hablarte de mil maneras!. Amen (Extracto de "La palabra entre nosotros")

I still have many things to tell you. (John 16, 12)

Almost all of us have seen television commercials that say: "But, wait. There is still more for you! "Jesus has something else for you too, and what's better, you do not have to pay taxes or shipping.

When Jesus told these things to the disciples, he knew that they were restless and worried about the future. He had just told them he was leaving and that after they left, they would surely experience more opposition and persecution. It was not a small thing! Everything they had learned from Jesus and experienced for themselves did not seem sufficient in the face of life without their guidance, their teaching and their protection.

Do not you feel that way sometimes too? We all go through circumstances in which we want the Lord to be there with us, and to guide us as he did with the apostles. How encouraging, precisely because of that, is the promise that the Holy Spirit will be there to guide us in the truth!

We can imagine that we are facing Jesus and that he says to us: "Yes, I am leaving, but here is someone who will continue to teach them and show them my love. Listen to him and follow his guidance! "

Of course, we do not hear the voice of the Lord clearly as its sound reaches our ears. Most likely, the Holy Spirit speaks to us inwardly, in the privacy of our thoughts.

Actually, the Spirit speaks to us in many different ways. Perhaps today you will experience peace as to a decision that you have to make. That peace could be the work of the Spirit. If you have a difficult situation to solve or you are in a stressful conversation, suddenly you can come to mind a verse of a hymn that cheers your heart. That could also be the Spirit in action. A passage of Scripture read at Mass could give you a new understanding of how to help one of your children. That could also be the Spirit. Or, a friend can offer you wise advice that touches your heart. Again, that could be the work of the Spirit.

You are a unique creation of God, and he will teach you things that conform to how he made you. Words, images, friends, feelings ... The Holy Spirit can speak to you in a thousand ways! Amen (Excerpt from "The word between us")
