La alegria de la resurreccion

Mc 16, 15-20

En aquel tiempo, se apareció Jesús a los Once y les dijo: "Vayan por todo el mundo y prediquen el Evangelio a toda creatura. El que crea y se bautice, se salvará; el que se resista a creer, será condenado. Éstos son los milagros que acompañarán a los que hayan creído: arrojarán demonios en mi nombre, hablarán lenguas nuevas, cogerán serpientes en sus manos, y si beben un veneno mortal, no les hará daño; impondrán las manos a los enfermos y éstos quedarán sanos".

El Señor Jesús, después de hablarles, subió al cielo y está sentado a la derecha de Dios. Ellos fueron y proclamaron el Evangelio por todas partes, y el Señor actuaba con ellos y confirmaba su predicación con los milagros que hacían.

GospelJN 16:16-20

Jesus said to his disciples: 
"A little while and you will no longer see me,
and again a little while later and you will see me."
So some of his disciples said to one another,
"What does this mean that he is saying to us,
'A little while and you will not see me,
and again a little while and you will see me,'
and 'Because I am going to the Father'?"
So they said, "What is this 'little while' of which he speaks?
We do not know what he means." 
Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them,
"Are you discussing with one another what I said,
'A little while and you will not see me,
and again a little while and you will see me'?
Amen, amen, I say to you,
you will weep and mourn, while the world rejoices;
you will grieve, but your grief will become joy."

Meditacion:

 Leemos el Evangelio de hoy y quizá no nos quede claro si tenemos que alegrarnos o entristecernos. ¿Está el Señor con nosotros o no? Lo cierto es que para algunos ser cristiano es algo triste y duro. Es como una especie de trabajo pesado, una carga que se lleva sobre los hombros. ¿Cómo alegrarse en esa situación? Da la impresión de que todas las alegrías del cristiano queda relegadas a la otra vida, cuando nos encontremos definitivamente con el Señor. 

Dicho en otras palabras, es como si la vida del cristiano fuese, o debiese ser, una cuaresma permanente, dedicada siempre a la penitencia y a prepararnos para nuestra particular pasión, a imitación de la pasión de Cristo. La Pascua, desde esa perspectiva es como una especie de alegría indebida. Algún día llegará. Pero a día de hoy no toca, porque estamos penando en este valle de lágrimas. 

La alegría de la vida, la que da la familia, la que dan los amigos, la que da el sentirse bien con el trabajo o con el servicio generoso que hacemos a los demás, parece que es un poco impropia. Hasta corre el chiste de que todas las cosas buenas de la vida o engordan o son pecado.

¡Qué pena que vivamos así nuestra vida cristiana! Porque a los discípulos les tocó vivir en directo aquel momento tan duro de la muerte de Jesús. Aquel si fue tiempo para la tristeza, para llorar sin saber hasta cuándo. Pero, hay que recordarlo y tenerlo siempre presente, ¡Jesús resucitó! Vivimos en este tiempo de la resurrección, de la presencia. La Vida se ha hecho presente en medio de nosotros. Ya no hay lugar para la tristeza sino para el gozo y el disfrute. El cristiano mira este mundo, su propia vida, desde esta perspectiva de la resurrección del Señor. Sabe, en lo más profundo de su corazón, que este mundo se ha abierto a la Vida de Dios, que nuestra vida ya no está herida de muerte sino de Vida. El cristiano está convencido de que somos, los hombres y mujeres de este mundo, creaturas amadas de Dios. Y nuestro Dios es el Dios de la Vida, del Amor y de la Libertad. La tristeza que tuvieron los discípulos se nos ha convertido en gozo y alegría. Nuestro testimonio, nuestra mejor forma de testimoniar la buena nueva del Evangelio al mundo, es vivir en alegría y esperanza cada uno de los momentos de nuestra vida y compartir vida, alegría y esperanza con los que nos rodean. Amen

We read the Gospel today and it may not be clear to us if we have to be happy or saddened. Is the Lord with us or not? The truth is that for some being a Christian is something sad and hard. It is like a kind of heavy work, a load that is carried on the shoulders. How to be happy in that situation? It gives the impression that all the joys of the Christian are relegated to the other life, when we find ourselves definitively with the Lord.

In other words, it is as if the life of the Christian was, or should be, a permanent Lent, always dedicated to penance and to prepare ourselves for our particular passion, in imitation of the passion of Christ. Easter, from that perspective, is like a kind of undue joy. Someday it will come. But today does not touch, because we are suffering in this valley of tears.

The joy of life, the joy of the family, the joy of friends, the feeling of being good with work or the generous service we give to others seems to be a bit inappropriate. Even the joke is that all the good things in life are either fat or sinful.

What a pity that we live our Christian life like this! Because the disciples had to live live that hard moment of the death of Jesus. That if it was time for sadness, to cry without knowing until when. But, we must remember it and keep it in mind, Jesus was resurrected! We live in this time of the resurrection, of the presence. Life has become present in our midst. There is no longer room for sadness but for joy and enjoyment. The Christian looks at this world, his own life, from this perspective of the resurrection of the Lord. Know, in the depths of your heart, that this world has been opened to the Life of God, that our life is no longer hurt by death but by Life. The Christian is convinced that we are, the men and women of this world, beloved creatures of God. And our God is the God of Life, Love and Freedom. The sadness that the disciples had has turned into joy and joy. Our testimony, our best way to witness the good news of the Gospel to the world, is to live in joy and hope each of the moments of our life and share life, joy and hope with those around us. Amen
