Gente sin Fe

Lectura del santo evangelio según san Marcos (9,14-29):

En aquel tiempo, cuando Jesús y los tres discípulos bajaron de la montaña, al llegar adonde estaban los demás discípulos, vieron mucha gente alrededor, y a unos escribas discutiendo con ellos. Al ver a Jesús, la gente se sorprendió, y corrió a saludarlo. 
Él les preguntó: «¿De qué discutís?»
Uno le contestó: «Maestro, te he traído a mi hijo; tiene un espíritu que no le deja hablar y, cuando lo agarra, lo tira al suelo, echa espumarajos, rechina los dientes y se queda tieso. He pedido a tus discípulos que lo echen, y no han sido capaces.»
Él les contestó: «¡Gente sin fe! ¿Hasta cuándo estaré con vosotros? ¿Hasta cuándo os tendré que soportar? Traédmelo.»
Se lo llevaron. El espíritu, en cuanto vio a Jesús, retorció al niño; cayó por tierra y se revolcaba, echando espumarajos.
Jesús preguntó al padre: «¿Cuánto tiempo hace que le pasa esto?»
Contestó él: «Desde pequeño. Y muchas veces hasta lo ha echado al fuego y al agua, para acabar con él. Si algo puedes, ten lástima de nosotros y ayúdanos.»
Jesús replicó: «¿Si puedo? Todo es posible al que tiene fe.»
Entonces el padre del muchacho gritó: «Tengo fe, pero dudo; ayúdame.»
Jesús, al ver que acudía gente, increpó al espíritu inmundo, diciendo: «Espíritu mudo y sordo, yo te lo mando: Vete y no vuelvas a entrar en él.»
Gritando y sacudiéndolo violentamente, salió. El niño se quedó como un cadáver, de modo que la multitud decía que estaba muerto. Pero Jesús lo levantó, cogiéndolo de la mano, y el niño se puso en pie. 
Al entrar en casa, sus discípulos le preguntaron a solas: «¿Por qué no pudimos echarlo nosotros?»
Él les respondió: «Esta especie sólo puede salir con oración y ayuno

Meditacion:

Hoy la Iglesia celebra a Santa Maria, como su madre. El Papa Francisco nos regala este dia para celebrar a nuestra Madre en sus multiples advocaciones, la lectura evangelica es la de la pasion donde Jesus le dice a Juan "aqui esta tu madre">

Yo he decidido hoy dia usar una lectura del tiempo liturgico ortodoxo de Marcos sobre la expulsion de un demonio.

En la escena evangélica nos encontramos a un joven con serias "dificultades", acompañado de su padre. En aquella cultura era habitual referirse a diferentes enfermedades mentales y de otro tipo como posesiones demoniacas. En el caso de hoy podríamos pensar en algo parecido a una epilepsia. 

Pero lo que importa es plantearse si tiene algo que ver este joven con el hombre de hoy? ¿Incluso: me parezco yo en algo a este joven, tiene algo que aportarme?  

Por lo que cuenta nos cuenta el relato, se trata de alguien que no puede hablar. Es terrible que lo que ocurre en el interior de una persona, no pueda ser expresado, exteriorizado, porque hay fuerzas de todo tipo que se lo impiden: Convencionalismos, miedos, presión del grupo, complejos, falta de conocimiento y reflexión sobre uno mismo para reconocerse lo que le pasa, manipulaciones... Incluso intereses sociales y económicos. No costaría mucho hacer una lista de personas y grupos que «no tienen voz»: desde países enteros, a minorías religiosas, razas, o por su condición sexual, o simplemente (?) porque tienen pocos ingresos, o ciertas enfermedades... En fin, la lista sería larga.

Pero también nos puede afectar a nosotros, cuando no nos atrevemos a expresar nuestras ideas o sentimientos, por miedo a ser juzgados y rechazados, a perder prestigio, a quedar arrinconados...

 El joven está cerrado sobre sí mismo. Su incapacidad para hablar y para escuchar, le aísla de su entorno. Es una reacción-tentación frecuente en la que fácilmente caemos cuando tenemos problemas, heridas, sufrimientos, nos sentimos incomprendidos, o tal vez raros... ¡Encerrarnos!

Por otro lado, es presa de reacciones y sentimientos, que no puede controlar, y que son violentos. Sufre cambios repentinos de humor. Las personas que sufren y se ven desesperadas e incapaces de salir de sus problemas... suelen ser agresivas y duras con los demás. Es su manera de «protestar» o «desahogarse». 

 En general no nos resulta fácil controlar nuestros sentimientos (positivos o negativos). A veces los reprimimos, y eso acaba haciéndonos daño. Otras veces se nos escapan descontrolados, aunque luego nos arrepintamos de nuestra reacción. Pero sobre todo, demasiadas veces no somos siquiera conscientes de nuestro estado de ánimo y de sus repercusiones en nuestro comportamiento y en las relaciones por los demás: ellos lo pagan. Con lo cual el aislamiento y el dolor aumentan.

Resumiendo: estamos ante una persona que se hace daño a sí misma. Como tantos, que no cuidan convenientemente de su salud, de su descanso, que no saben encontrar algo que relaje la tensión acumulada. Como tantos que se sobrecargan de trabajo, que descuidan la amistad o la familia, que descuidan e incluso abandonan su vida interior. Tantos que se comparan continuamente con los demás, deseando ser como ellos; que se exigen por encima de sus posibilidades para ganar afecto o prestigio, que se culpan por lo que ocurrió ayer o incluso hace años, incapaces de perdonarse o de perdonado.  O que han perdido sus sueños e ilusiones y procuran conformarse, sin lograrlo... Podíamos añadir tantas cosas más. 

También podríamos mirar globalmente al hombre de hoy: tan limitado, reprimido, manipulado, silenciado, ignorado... Desde que el hombre es hombre, se ha visto así, es un fruto del pecado. Como dice el padre de este joven: todo eso le ocurre «desde niño».

Importante la figura de este «padre», que es capaz de comprender lo que le pasa a su hijo, describirlo y buscar ayuda como sea... Es indispensable, cuando no andamos bien, tener cerca a alguien que nos conozca, nos comprenda y guíe nuestros pasos hacia lo bueno: un padre espiritual, un buen amigo que nos ayude a expresarnos, que nos ayude a discernir lo que dice «la gente» y algunos supuestos sabios de este mundo, que no tienen la sabiduría ni el poder de Dios.

A Jesús le enfada esta «¡generación incrédula! ¿Hasta cuándo estaré con vosotros? ¿Hasta cuándo os tendré que soportar?», y que no hace nada por resolver las cosas, se pierde en discusiones con los «especialistas» de siempre (los escribas). Es incrédula porque reduce la fe a discusiones, opiniones, declaraciones, discursos, creencias... pero el enfermo sigue ahí, sin atender.

Jesús afirma que el mal sólo se puede derrotar con ayuda de una fe firme y con oración.  La fe significa adhesión, confianza, implicación personal con Jesús y con su misión liberadora. Y la oración supone mirar la realidad desde Dios, desde su Palabra, discernirla, abrirnos a su Espíritu y ponernos a «hacer». Una oración que nos ayude a recuperar nuestra dignidad, nuestra libertad y nos ayude a echar tantos demonios de nosotros.

For what account tells the story, it is someone who can not speak. It is terrible that what happens inside a person, can not be expressed, externalized, because there are forces of all kinds that prevent it: Conventionalisms, fears, group pressure, complexes, lack of knowledge and reflection on oneself for recognize what happens to him, manipulations ... Even social and economic interests. It would not be hard to make a list of people and groups that "have no voice": from entire countries, to religious minorities, races, or because of their sexual condition, or simply (?) Because they have little income, or certain diseases ... Finally, the list would be long.

But it can also affect us, when we do not dare to express our ideas or feelings, for fear of being judged and rejected, to lose prestige, to be cornered ...

 The young man is closed on himself. His inability to speak and to listen isolates him from his surroundings. It is a frequent reaction-temptation in which we easily fall when we have problems, wounds, sufferings, we feel misunderstood, or perhaps weird ... Lock ourselves!

On the other hand, it is prey to reactions and feelings, which it can not control, and which are violent. He suffers sudden mood swings. People who suffer and look desperate and unable to get out of their problems ... are often aggressive and hard on others. It's his way of "protesting" or "venting."

 In general it is not easy for us to control our feelings (positive or negative). Sometimes we repress them, and that ends up hurting us. Other times we escape uncontrolled, but then we regret our reaction. But above all, too often we are not even aware of our state of mind and its repercussions on our behavior and relationships for others: they pay for it. With which the isolation and pain increase.

In short: we are dealing with a person who harms himself. Like so many, who do not take good care of their health, of their rest, who do not know how to find something that relaxes the accumulated tension. Like so many who overload themselves with work, who neglect friendship or family, who neglect and even abandon their inner life. So many that they continually compare themselves with others, wanting to be like them; that they are required above their means to gain affection or prestige, that they blame themselves for what happened yesterday or even years ago, incapable of forgiveness or forgiveness. Or that they have lost their dreams and illusions and try to conform, without achieving it ... We could add so many more things.

We could also look globally at the man of today: so limited, repressed, manipulated, silenced, ignored ... Since man is man, he has seen himself like that, he is a fruit of sin. As the father of this young man says: all that happens to him «since he was a child».

Important figure of this "father", who is able to understand what happens to his son, describe it and seek help as it is ... It is essential, when we are not doing well, to have close to someone who knows us, understands us and guide our steps towards the good: a spiritual father, a good friend who helps us express ourselves, who helps us to discern what "people" say and some supposed wise men of this world, who do not have the wisdom or power of God .

Jesus is angry at this "unbelieving generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I have to put up with you? "And that he does not do anything to solve things, he loses himself in discussions with the" specialists "as always (the scribes). It is incredulous because it reduces the faith to discussions, opinions, statements, discourses, beliefs ... but the patient is still there, unattended.

Jesus affirms that evil can only be defeated with the help of firm faith and prayer. Faith means adhesion, trust, personal involvement with Jesus and his liberating mission. And prayer means looking at reality from God, from his Word, discerning it, opening ourselves to his Spirit and starting to "do". A prayer that will help us to recover our dignity, our freedom and help us to throw so many demons out of us.
