Mc 12, 28-34
En aquel tiempo, uno de los escribas se acercó a Jesús y le preguntó: “¿Cuál es el primero de todos los mandamientos?” Jesús le respondió: “El primero es: Escucha, Israel: El Señor, nuestro Dios, es el único Señor; amarás al Señor, tu Dios, con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma, con toda tu mente y con todas tus fuerzas. El segundo es éste: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. No hay ningún mandamiento mayor que éstos”.
El escriba replicó: “Muy bien, Maestro. Tienes razón, cuando dices que el Señor es único y que no hay otro fuera de él, y amarlo con todo el corazón, con toda el alma, con todas las fuerzas, y amar al prójimo como a uno mismo, vale más que todos los holocaustos y sacrificios”.
Jesús, viendo que había hablado muy sensatamente, le dijo: “No estás lejos del Reino de Dios”. Y ya nadie se atrevió a hacerle más preguntas.
El escriba replicó: “Muy bien, Maestro. Tienes razón, cuando dices que el Señor es único y que no hay otro fuera de él, y amarlo con todo el corazón, con toda el alma, con todas las fuerzas, y amar al prójimo como a uno mismo, vale más que todos los holocaustos y sacrificios”.
Jesús, viendo que había hablado muy sensatamente, le dijo: “No estás lejos del Reino de Dios”. Y ya nadie se atrevió a hacerle más preguntas.

One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him,
"Which is the first of all the commandments?"
Jesus replied, "The first is this:
Hear, O Israel!
The Lord our God is Lord alone!
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, with all your mind,
and with all your strength.
The second is this:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
There is no other commandment greater than these."
The scribe said to him, "Well said, teacher.
You are right in saying,
He is One and there is no other than he.
And to love him with all your heart,
with all your understanding,
with all your strength,
and to love your neighbor as yourself
is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
And when Jesus saw that he answered with understanding,
he said to him, "You are not far from the Kingdom of God."
And no one dared to ask him any more questions.

Meditation:
Hoy Jesus se ve gratamente sorprendido por este escriba que apoya sus palabras respecto al mandamiento mas importante.
"No estas lejos del Reino de Dios" o sea.. estas en la periferia, tienes una idea bastante cercana pero te falta encarnar esa idea para seguir elevandote.
Cuantos de nosotros hoy dia estamos igual que este escriba, cerca del Reino de Dios?.
Cuantos de nosotros nos preguntamos hoy dia que quiere Dios de mi?
No sé si a vosotros os pasa. A mí bastantes veces. Empezamos a complicarnos la vida, a dar vueltas, a dudar y sospechar, a buscar atajos ocultos… y nos olvidamos de lo fundamental: el sentido común.
¿Qué me pide Dios?, ¿cuál es su voluntad para mí?, ¿qué decisión tomar frente a este asunto?, ¿cómo elegir lo más importante?... Cada uno podemos poner nuestras preguntas. Jesús no se enreda con minucias ni necesita preguntarte datos de tu vida y situación. No. Va al corazón: Escucha y ama. Escucha y ama. Escucha y ama. Y nadie se atrevió a hacerle más preguntas.
¿Escuchar? Sí, y amar. Porque si escuchas y no amas, la escucha puede convertirse en autocomplacencia, en resignación o en refugio para no hacer nada. Y no entenderás a quien te habla, ni a Dios ni a los demás. Terminarás escuchándote solo a ti.
¿Amar? Sí y escuchar. Porque si amas sin escuchar, tu amor se irá haciendo cada vez más pequeño, más automático o más artificial y amaestrado. Sin nada ni nadie que te mantenga vigilante, en camino, sabiendo que la medida del amor no la das tú mismo sino el Otro y los otros a quienes escuchas.
“Voy a amarlos aunque no lo merezcan —dijo el Todopoderoso por medio del profeta Oseas— Voy a ser para Israel como el rocío, y él dará flores como los lirios. Sus raíces serán tan firmes como el monte Líbano… Israel vivirá de nuevo bajo mi protección; entonces crecerán como el trigo, florecerán como la vid” (Oseas, 14, 4.5.7). El amor que Dios nos concede gratuitamente nos alimenta y nos sustenta, del mismo modo que el agua produce y sustenta la vida en un jardín.

Todo parece mas simple cuando aplicamos el sentido común… ¿verdad? Pero qué pocas veces lo hacemos, especialmente con las cosas de Dios.Amen
