Creer siempre...

Mt 13, 54-58

En aquel tiempo, Jesús llegó a su tierra y se puso a enseñar a la gente en la sinagoga, de tal forma, que todos estaban asombrados y se preguntaban: "¿De dónde ha sacado éste esa sabiduría y esos poderes milagrosos? ¿Acaso no es éste el hijo del carpintero? ¿No se llama María su madre y no son sus hermanos Santiago, José, Simón y Judas? ¿Qué no viven entre nosotros todas sus hermanas? ¿De dónde, pues, ha sacado todas estas cosas?" Y se negaban a creer en él.

Entonces, Jesús les dijo: "Un profeta no es despreciado más que en su patria y en su casa". Y no hizo muchos milagros allí por la incredulidad de ellos.

Jesus came to his native place and taught the people in their synagogue.
They were astonished and said,
“Where did this man get such wisdom and mighty deeds?
Is he not the carpenter’s son?
Is not his mother named Mary
and his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?
Are not his sisters all with us?
Where did this man get all this?”
And they took offense at him.
But Jesus said to them,
“A prophet is not without honor except in his native place
and in his own house.”
And he did not work many mighty deeds there
because of their lack of faith.

Meditacion:

Hermanos y hermanas.. hoy encontramos este evangelio que relata a Jesus en la misma posicion incomoda que muchas veces nos pasa: la incredulidad de las personas.

Jesus estaba alli, haciendo milagros aqui y alla y sin embargo para sus propios vecinos, les resultaba muy dificil creer que El fuera el Mesias, el enviado de Dios.

No solo le faltaba a estas personas fe sino tambien creer en la presencia de Dios en otras personas.

No nos ocurre lo mismo a nosotros cada dia? Cuanto nos cuesta ver en otras personas (especialmente las que estan en una situacion de adictas, viviendo en la calle, alejados de cualquier cosa que sea religion) la presencia de Dios?

Esto fue lo que sucedió en todo el ministerio de Jesús: algunos lo buscaban con mucho entusiasmo, se curaban de sus enfermedades y se libraban de sus pecados; mientras que otros lo observaban a la distancia, con cierto recelo, y así desperdiciaban la oportunidad de experimentar una profunda transformación positiva en la vida de cada uno. Esto sucede porque Jesús no desea ser conocido nada más que como “el hijo del carpintero” o como “alguien que murió hace dos mil años”. Él quiere y espera que todos lleguemos a conocerlo como Señor y Salvador, como hermano y amigo.

¿Qué lección podemos sacar de esto? ¡Que hay que acercarse a Jesús; salir a buscarlo; ser uno de los que se apretujan para escuchar sus palabras junto al lago! Invoca el Nombre del Señor, hermano, y llámalo a viva voz diciéndole “¡Jesús, hijo de David, ten piedad de mí!” (Marcos 10, 47). Si no entiendes alguna de las parábolas del Señor cuando leas el Evangelio, pídele que él mismo te la explique, y no te canses jamás de escuchar lo que él te diga; no te contentes con lo que sabes ahora acerca del Señor, porque sus bendiciones se renuevan con el amanecer de cada día.

“Mi Señor y Salvador, quiero conocerte cada día mejor; quiero experimentar tu presencia hoy en mi vida. Enséñame, Señor, muchas cosas de ti que jamás he conocido antes.” Amen

Brothers and sisters ... today we find this Gospel that tells Jesus in the same uncomfortable position that often happens: the disbelief of people.

Jesus was there, doing miracles here and there and yet for his own neighbors, it was very difficult for him to believe that He was the Messiah, the envoy of God.

Not only did these people lack faith but also believe in the presence of God in other people.

Does not the same thing happen to us every day? How much does it cost us to see other people (especially those who are in a situation of addicts, living on the street, away from anything that is religion) the presence of God?

This was what happened in all of Jesus' ministry: some sought him out with great enthusiasm, were cured of their illnesses and freed themselves from their sins; while others watched him from a distance, with some mistrust, and thus wasted the opportunity to experience a profound positive transformation in each one's life. This happens because Jesus does not want to be known as anything other than as "the carpenter's son" or as "someone who died two thousand years ago." He wants and expects all of us to come to know him as Lord and Savior, as brother and friend.

What lesson can we draw from this? That we must approach Jesus; go out to look for it; be one of those who squeeze to hear their words by the lake! Invite the Name of the Lord, brother, and call him out loud, saying "Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me!" (Mark 10, 47). If you do not understand some of the parables of the Lord when you read the Gospel, ask him to explain it to you, and never tire of listening to what he says; do not be satisfied with what you know now about the Lord, because his blessings are renewed with the dawn of each day.

"My Lord and Savior, I want to know you better every day; I want to experience your presence today in my life. Teach me, Lord, many things about you that I have never known before. "Amen
