Fiesta de Asuncion

Lc 1, 39-56

En aquellos días, María se encaminó presurosa a un pueblo de las montañas de Judea, y entrando en la casa de Zacarías, saludó a Isabel. En cuanto ésta oyó el saludo de María, la creatura saltó en su seno.

Entonces Isabel quedó llena del Espíritu Santo, y levantando la voz, exclamó: "¡Bendita tú entre las mujeres y bendito el fruto de tu vientre! ¿Quién soy yo para que la madre de mi Señor venga a verme? Apenas llegó tu saludo a mis oídos, el niño saltó de gozo en mi seno. Dichosa tú, que has creído, porque se cumplirá cuanto te fue anunciado de parte del Señor".

Entonces dijo María:
"Mi alma glorifica al Señor
y mi espíritu se llena de júbilo en Dios, mi salvador,
porque puso sus ojos en la humildad de su esclava.

Desde ahora me llamarán dichosa todas las generaciones,
porque ha hecho en mí grandes cosas el que todo lo puede.
Santo es su nombre
y su misericordia llega de generación en generación
a los que lo temen.
Ha hecho sentir el poder de su brazo:
dispersó a los de corazón altanero,
destronó a los potentados
y exaltó a los humildes.
A los hambrientos los colmó de bienes
y a los ricos los despidió sin nada.

Acordándose de su misericordia,
vino en ayuda de Israel, su siervo,
como lo había prometido a nuestros padres,
a Abraham y a su descendencia
para siempre''.

María permaneció con Isabel unos tres meses, y luego regresó a su casa.

Mary set out
and traveled to the hill country in haste
to a town of Judah,

He has shown the strength of his arm,

and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel
for he has remembered his promise of mercy,

Mary remained with her about three months

Meditacion:

El evangelio de hoy celebra la visita de la Virgen Maria a su prima, Isabel que estaba embarazada del que luego seria Juan el Bautista.

Es curioso leer que la Virgen y su prima estuvieron juntas por tres meses. los medicos siempre se refieren a los primeros tres meses del embarazo como los mas delicados y aqui vemos que ambas comparten tres meses, como si Dios nos hubiera querido asegurar que Jesus estaria bien, que no le pasaria nada.

Y veamos otro punto

El 1º de enero celebrábamos a Santa María, Madre de Dios.

El 25 de Marzo la Anunciación de Ntra. Señora, y hoy, 15 de Agosto, celebramos a María Asunta en Cuerpo y alma al cielo.

La historia humana es una historia de exilio. Nos encontramos desterrados en la tierra donde luchan el bien y el mal, la solidaridad y el egoísmo, la justicia y la mentira, es decir, la lucha entre los valores de la muerte y los valores de la vida. María supo salir victoriosa.

La fiesta de hoy nos invita a contemplar la historia humana como historia de salvación.

 Y rescato de la homilía del Papa Emérito Benedicto XVI en la fiesta de la Asunción de 2005, estas frases que me gustaron mucho:

La fiesta de la Asunción es un día de alegría. Dios ha vencido. El amor ha vencido. Ha vencido la vida. Se ha puesto de manifiesto que el amor es más fuerte que la muerte, que Dios tiene la verdadera fuerza, y su fuerza es bondad y amor.

María fue asunta al cielo en cuerpo y alma. En Dios también hay lugar para el cuerpo. El cielo ya no es para nosotros una esfera muy lejana y desconocida. En el cielo tenemos una madre. Y la Madre de Dios, la Madre del Hijo de Dios, es nuestra madre. El mismo Señor lo dijo. La hizo madre nuestra cuando dijo al discípulo y a todos nosotros: “He aquí a tu madre.” En el cielo tenemos una madre. El cielo está abierto; el cielo tiene un corazón.

Antes se pensaba y se creía que, desentendiéndonos de Dios y siendo nosotros autónomos, siguiendo nuestras propias ideas, nuestra voluntad, llegaríamos a ser realmente libres, para hacer lo que nos apeteciera sin tener que obedecer a nadie. Pero cuando Dios desaparece, el hombre no adquiere grandeza; al contrario, pierde la dignidad divina, pierde el reflejo del esplendor de Dios. Al final se convierte sólo en el producto de una evolución ciega, del que se puede usar y abusar. Eso es precisamente lo que ha confirmado la experiencia de nuestra época.

El hombre es grande sólo si Dios es grande. Con María debemos comenzar a comprender que es así. No debemos alejarnos de Dios, sino hacer que Dios esté presente, hacer que Dios sea grande en nuestra vida; así también nosotros seremos divinos: tendremos todo el esplendor de la dignidad divina.

Apliquemos esto a nuestra vida. Es importante que Dios sea grande entre nosotros, en la vida pública y en la vida privada; que Dios esté presente en nuestra vida común, porque sólo si Dios está presente tenemos una orientación, un camino común; de lo contrario, los contrastes se hacen inconciliables, pues ya no se reconoce la dignidad común.

Engrandezcamos a Dios en la vida pública y en la vida privada. Eso significa hacer espacio para Dios cada día en nuestra vida, comenzando desde la mañana con la oración, luego dando tiempo a Dios, y dedicándole el domingo.

“Santa María Asunta, signo de esperanza y de consuelo, de humanidad nueva y redimida, danos de tu Hijo ser como tú, llenos del Espíritu Santo.” Amen

In the end it becomes only the product of a blind evolution, from which it can be used and abused. That is precisely what the experience of our time has confirmed.

Man is great only if God is great. With Mary we must begin to understand that it is so. We must not turn away from God, but make God present, make God great in our life; so we too will be divine: we will have all the splendor of divine dignity.

Let's apply this to our life. It is important that God be great among us, in public life and in private life; May God be present in our common life, because only if God is present do we have an orientation, a common path; otherwise, the contrasts become irreconcilable, because the common dignity is no longer recognized.

Let us enlarge God in public life and in private life. That means making room for God every day in our lives, starting from the morning with prayer, then giving time to God, and dedicating Sunday.

"Holy Mary Assumed, sign of hope and consolation, of new and redeemed humanity, give us of your Son to be like you, full of the Holy Spirit." Amen
