El Reino de Dios

Lc 17, 20-25

En aquel tiempo, los fariseos le preguntaron a Jesús: "¿Cuándo llegará el Reino de Dios?" Jesús les respondió: "El Reino de Dios no llega aparatosamente. No se podrá decir: 'Está aquí' o 'Está allá', porque el Reino de Dios ya está entre ustedes".

Les dijo entonces a sus discípulos: "Llegará un tiempo en que ustedes desearán disfrutar siquiera un solo día de la presencia del Hijo del hombre y no podrán. Entonces les dirán: 'Está aquí' o 'Está allá', pero no vayan corriendo a ver, pues así como el fulgor del relámpago brilla de un extremo a otro del cielo, así será la venida del Hijo del hombre en su día. Pero antes tiene que padecer mucho y ser rechazado por los hombres de esta generación".

Asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come,
Jesus said in reply,
"The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed,
and no one will announce, 'Look, here it is,' or, 'There it is.'
For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you."

Then he said to his disciples,
"The days will come when you will long to see
one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
There will be those who will say to you,
'Look, there he is,' or 'Look, here he is.'
Do not go off, do not run in pursuit.
For just as lightning flashes
and lights up the sky from one side to the other,
so will the Son of Man be in his day.
But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation."

Meditacion:

El evangelio de hoy nos presenta la eterna pregunta: cuando llegara el Reino de los Cielos?

Es muy humano querer averiguar esto, todos buscamos naturalmente la felicidad y la perspectiva de un reino donde viviremos eternamente en la contemplacion del amor de Dios es muy tentador.

Jesus responde que "el Reino ya esta entre ustedes" y esto dicho asi desorienta bastante a los fariseos; ellos esperaban la venida de un Rey con toda su corte y sus ejercitos y solo veian a este hombre que los desorientaba pero que de Rey nada de nada.

En este siglo tan loco que vivimos, lo mismo ocurre, seguimos buscando el Reino de Dios sin darnos cuenta que esta a nuestro alrededor, que toda esta creacion se nos fue dada para ser cuidada (claro, despues la destruimos casi completamente), que "vivir el Reino de Dios aqui en la tierra" es una cuestion de aceptar la gracia de Dios y seguir sus preceptos.

Muchos de nosotros ya vivimos esta realidad, mientras que otros tantos esperamos con un poco de ecepticismo y duda.

Tratemos de vivir el Reino de Dios, amando a nuestros congeneres, llevando a cabo practicas piadosas y misionando en cada lugar que vamos.

Cuanto mas abandonamos nuestros destinos mezquinos y humanos y aceptemos la idea de un Dios salvador y amoroso, mas cerca estaremos. Amen

The gospel of today presents us with the eternal question: when will the Kingdom of Heaven come?

It is very human to want to find out this, we all naturally seek happiness and the perspective of a kingdom where we will live eternally in the contemplation of God's love is very tempting.

Jesus answers that "the Kingdom is already among you" and this saying thus disorients the Pharisees enough; they expected the coming of a King with all his court and his armies and they only saw this man who disoriented them but that of Rey nothing at all.

In this crazy century that we live, the same thing happens, we continue looking for the Kingdom of God without realizing that it is around us, that all this creation was given to us to be taken care of (of course, after we destroyed it almost completely), that " living the Kingdom of God here on earth "is a matter of accepting the grace of God and following its precepts.

Many of us already live this reality, while many others we wait with a little bit of ecepticism and doubt.

Let us try to live the Kingdom of God, loving our congeniality, carrying out pious practices and missionating in every place we go.

The more we abandon our petty and human destinies and accept the idea of a saving and loving God, the closer we will be. Amen
