La autoridad de Jesus

Mc 1, 21-28 

En aquel tiempo, llegó Jesús a Cafarnaúm y el sábado siguiente fue a la sinagoga y se puso a enseñar. Los oyentes quedaron asombrados de sus palabras, pues enseñaba como quien tiene autoridad y no como los escribas. 

Había en la sinagoga un hombre poseído por un espíritu inmundo, que se puso a gritar: "¿Qué quieres tú con nosotros, Jesús de Nazaret? ¿Has venido a acabar con nosotros? Ya sé quién eres: el Santo de Dios". Jesús le ordenó: "¡Cállate y sal de él!" El espíritu inmundo, sacudiendo al hombre con violencia y dando un alarido, salió de él. Todos quedaron estupefactos y se preguntaban: "¿Qué es esto? ¿Qué nueva doctrina es ésta? Este hombre tiene autoridad para mandar hasta a los espíritus inmundos y lo obedecen". Y muy pronto se extendió su fama por toda Galilea.

Jesus came to Capernaum with his followers, 
and on the sabbath he entered the synagogue and taught.
The people were astonished at his teaching,
for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.
In their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit;
he cried out, "What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?
Have you come to destroy us?
I know who you are–the Holy One of God!" 
Jesus rebuked him and said, "Quiet!  Come out of him!"
The unclean spirit convulsed him and with a loud cry came out of him.
All were amazed and asked one another,
"What is this?
A new teaching with authority.
He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him."
His fame spread everywhere throughout the whole region of Galilee.

Meditacion:

Miren este pasaje debemos leerlo con cuidado porque lo que relata es bastante curioso para nuestra mirada contemporanea.

En mi experiencia, si hay alguien que reconoce el poder de Jesus de inmediato es el demonio. En cada lugar que Jesus va y encuentra uno, el rechazo es inmediato y violento.

Pero miren que aqui Jesus se encuentra uno en la sinagoga. Jesus era para ese momento un rabbi importante y se le concedia la proclamacion del sabado sin problema.

Sin duda, su fama le precedia.

Aqui vemos como inmediatamente manda salir al demonio que estaba poseyendo a este pobre hombre con autoridad. Muchos autores biblicos hablan de estos "posesos" mas como enfermos mentales; yo no voy a entrar en esa discusion porque no viene al caso.

Quizá no se sepa con precisión en qué consistía su enfermedad; lo importante es que en él, por medio de Jesús, Yahvé muestra que comienza a reinar, que el dolor humano retrocede y la comunión entre los humanos se restablece. Jesús anuncia y “realiza” la llegada de los tiempos mesiánicos. Ante esto, solo cabe la admiración: “¿Qué es esto?”. Y se perfila mejor la imagen tradicional de Dios: no desea otra cosa que el bienestar humano.

Recordando esta demostración, y otras que la seguirán, y recodando igualmente la autoridad de la palabra magistral de Jesús, la Iglesia naciente seguirá reflexionando acerca de él; le “ve coronado de gloria y honor” y le aplica el dicho del Salmo 8: “todo lo sometiste bajo sus pies”. Es otra forma de confesarle “Señor”.

Esto lo reafirma la carta a los Hebreos con una expresión que debió de tomar de una antigua fórmula bautismal: Jesús es Señor, “por quien existe todo y para quien existe todo” (cf. 1Co 8,5-6). Pero el erudito autor añade una observación de interés: “no vemos todavía que le esté sometido todo”. Jesús, por tanto, es el Señor de derecho, pero no lo es de hecho. Hay muchos que no le conocen, otros,, conociéndole, le rechazan; hay mucho poder del mal y estructuras de pecado. Hay en nosotros mismos, en nuestra sensibilidad y criterios, “zonas no suficientemente bautizadas”, poco iluminadas por su presencia.

Recibamos por tanto una llamada a la conversión, a dejarnos guiar y transformar por Él, y también una llamada a la misión, al testimonio, de modo que algún día ya no se pueda cantar aquello de “no es tu reino, Señor, la tierra no es tu reino”.

“Señor mío Jesucristo, te invito a entrar en lo más recóndito de mi ser para que me unas a tu Sagrado Corazón con lazos de amor. Enséñame, Señor, a vivir dedicado exclusivamente a ti.” Amen

Look at this passage we must read it carefully because what it tells is quite curious for our contemporary gaze.

In my experience, if there is someone who recognizes the power of Jesus immediately, it is the devil. In each place that Jesus goes and finds one, the rejection is immediate and violent.

But look here Jesus is in the synagogue. Jesus was at that time an important rabbi and he was granted the proclamation of Saturday without a problem.

Without a doubt, his fame preceded him.

Here we see how he immediately sends out the demon that was possessing this poor man with authority. Many biblical authors speak of these "possessed" more as mentally ill; I'm not going to enter into that discussion because it does not matter.

Perhaps it is not known exactly what his illness consisted of; the important thing is that in him, through Jesus, Yahweh shows that he begins to reign, that human pain recedes and communion among humans is restored. Jesus announces and "realizes" the arrival of messianic times. Before this, only the admiration fits: "What is this?". And the traditional image of God is better outlined: he wants nothing more than human welfare.

Recalling this demonstration, and others that will follow it, and also recalling the authority of the masterly word of Jesus, the nascent Church will continue to reflect on it; he "sees him crowned with glory and honor" and he applies the saying of Psalm 8: "you have put everything under his feet". It is another way of confessing "Lord".

This is confirmed by the letter to the Hebrews with an expression that must have been taken from an ancient baptismal formula: Jesus is Lord, "through whom everything exists and for whom everything exists" (1Co 8,5-6). But the erudite author adds an observation of interest: "we still do not see that everything is submitted to him". Jesus, therefore, is the Lord of right, but it is not in fact. There are many who do not know him, others, knowing him, rejecting him; There is a lot of evil power and structures of sin. There is in ourselves, in our sensitivity and criteria, "areas not sufficiently baptized", little illuminated by their presence.

Let us therefore receive a call to conversion, to let ourselves be guided and transformed by Him, and also a call to mission, to testimony, so that one day we can no longer sing that "it is not your kingdom, Lord, the earth It is not your kingdom. "

"My Lord Jesus Christ, I invite you to enter into the deepest recesses of my being so that I may join your Sacred Heart with bonds of love. Teach me, Lord, to live dedicated exclusively to you. "Amen
