Mc 1, 14-20
Después de que arrestaron a Juan el Bautista, Jesús se fue a Galilea para predicar el Evangelio de Dios y decía: "Se ha cumplido el tiempo y el Reino de Dios ya está cerca. Arrepiéntanse y crean en el Evangelio".
Caminaba Jesús por la orilla del lago de Galilea, cuando vio a Simón y a su hermano, Andrés, echando las redes en el lago, pues eran pescadores. Jesús les dijo: "Síganme y haré de ustedes pescadores de hombres". Inmediatamente dejaron las redes y lo siguieron.
Un poco más adelante, vio a Santiago y a Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que estaban en una barca, remendando sus redes. Los llamó, y ellos, dejando en la barca a su padre con los trabajadores, se fueron con Jesús

After John had been arrested,
Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the Gospel of God:
"This is the time of fulfillment.
The Kingdom of God is at hand.
Repent, and believe in the Gospel."
As he passed by the Sea of Galilee,
he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting their nets into the sea;
they were fishermen.
Jesus said to them,
"Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men."
Then they left their nets and followed him.
He walked along a little farther
and saw James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John.
They too were in a boat mending their nets.
Then he called them.
So they left their father Zebedee in the boat
along with the hired men and followed him.

Meditacion:
Hoy contemplamos a Jesus al comienzo de su ministerio. Anunciaba que el Reino de Dios esta cerca, que todo mundo debia arrepentirse.
Y tambien contemplamos como Jesus comienza a llamar a sus discipulos.
Jesús les dijo a varios de sus discípulos: “Síganme, y yo haré que ustedes sean pescadores de hombres.” Esta invitación al discipulado debe haber sido muy emocionante, pero a la vez motivo de preocupación, porque Jesús les pedía que dejaran todo lo que era para ellos conocido y fuente de seguridad: trabajos, vecindario y hasta sus familiares y amigos para seguirlo a él. Y hay que reconocer que la respuesta de estos discípulos fue inmediata y completa. Lo dejaron todo para seguir a Cristo, y ciertamente llegaron a ser pescadores de hombres.
Hoy el Señor nos llama a cada uno de nosotros y nos invita a ser discípulos suyos. Quizás esto nos cause inquietud también, porque no sabemos a qué tendremos que renunciar, pero Jesús nos ha prometido estar siempre con nosotros (Mateo 28, 20). Todo lo que nos pide es que le digamos “sí” cada día. Así, con la fuerza del Espíritu Santo, también podremos llegar a ser discípulos de Cristo y pescadores de hombres.
“Señor Jesús, me entrego a ti de todo corazón para que me sanes. Te invito a hacer tu morada en mi corazón y quiero seguirte y traer a otros para que te conozcan, te amen y te sirvan.” Amen

Today we contemplate Jesus at the beginning of his ministry. He announced that the Kingdom of God is near, that everyone should repent.
And we also contemplate how Jesus begins to call his disciples.
Jesus told several of his disciples: "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." This invitation to discipleship must have been very exciting, but also cause for concern, because Jesus asked them to leave everything that It was known to them and a source of security: jobs, neighborhood and even family and friends to follow him. And we must recognize that the response of these disciples was immediate and complete. They left everything to follow Christ, and they certainly became fishers of men.
Today the Lord calls each one of us and invites us to be his disciples. Perhaps this also causes us concern, because we do not know what we will have to renounce, but Jesus has promised to be always with us (Matthew 28, 20). All he asks is that we say "yes" every day. Thus, with the power of the Holy Spirit, we can also become disciples of Christ and fishers of men.
"Lord Jesus, I give myself to you with all my heart so that you may heal me. I invite you to make your home in my heart and I want to follow you and bring others to know you, love you and serve you. "Amen
