Jn 5, 17-30
En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a los judíos (que lo perseguían por hacer curaciones en sábado): "Mi Padre trabaja siempre y yo también trabajo". Por eso los judíos buscaban con mayor empeño darle muerte, ya que no sólo violaba el sábado, sino que llamaba Padre suyo a Dios, igualándose así con Dios.
Entonces Jesús les habló en estos términos: "Yo les aseguro: El Hijo no puede hacer nada por su cuenta y sólo hace lo que le ve hacer al Padre; lo que hace el Padre también lo hace el Hijo. El Padre ama al Hijo y le manifiesta todo lo que hace; le manifestará obras todavía mayores que éstas, para asombro de ustedes. Así como el Padre resucita a los muertos y les da la vida, así también el Hijo da la vida a quien él quiere dársela. El Padre no juzga a nadie, porque todo juicio se lo ha dado al Hijo, para que todos honren al Hijo, como honran al Padre. El que no honra al Hijo tampoco honra al Padre.
Yo les aseguro que, quien escucha mi palabra y cree en el que me envió, tiene vida eterna y no será condenado en el juicio, porque ya pasó de la muerte a la vida.
Les aseguro que viene la hora, y ya está aquí, en que los muertos oirán la voz del Hijo de Dios, y los que la hayan oído vivirán. Pues así como el Padre tiene la vida en sí mismo, también le ha dado al Hijo tener la vida en sí mismo; y le ha dado el poder de juzgar, porque es el Hijo del hombre.
No se asombren de esto, porque viene la hora en que todos los que yacen en la tumba oirán mi voz y resucitarán: los que hicieron el bien para la vida; los que hicieron el mal, para la condenación. Yo nada puedo hacer por mí mismo. Según lo que oigo, juzgo; y mi juicio es justo, porque no busco mi voluntad, sino la voluntad del que me envió".

For just as the Father raises the dead and gives life,
so also does the Son give life to whomever he wishes.
Nor does the Father judge anyone,
but he has given all judgment to the Son,
so that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father.
Whoever does not honor the Son
does not honor the Father who sent him.
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever hears my word
and believes in the one who sent me
has eternal life and will not come to condemnation,
but has passed from death to life.
Amen, amen, I say to you, the hour is coming and is now here
when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God,
and those who hear will live.
For just as the Father has life in himself,
so also he gave to the Son the possession of life in himself.
And he gave him power to exercise judgment,
because he is the Son of Man.
Do not be amazed at this,
because the hour is coming in which all who are in the tombs
will hear his voice and will come out,
those who have done good deeds
to the resurrection of life,
but those who have done wicked deeds
to the resurrection of condemnation.

I judge as I hear, and my judgment is just,
because I do not seek my own will
but the will of the one who sent me."

Meditacion:
El evangelio de hoy es la continuacion de la curacion del paralitico junto a la piscina.
Nuevamente Jesus molesta porque rompe la ley de no trabajar en sabado.
Eso y que se compare a Dios irritaba a los judios.
Y ustedes que creen? Podria un padre dejar de llevar a su hijo al hospital porque es sabado? Dejamos de amar a los que amamos en sabado y depues, magicamente, los seguimos amando en domingo?
A mi particularmente me parece que uno jamas deja de amar, de servir, de escuchar y de proclamar el evangelio, desde que se despierta hasta que se acuesta.
"El Hijo no puede hacer nada por su cuenta y sólo hace lo que le ve hacer al Padre; lo que hace el Padre también lo hace el Hijo" dice Jesus y nosotros, honestamente, deberiamos leer esto un par de veces cada dia.
Porque nosotros tambien somos hijos de Dios y herederos del Reino del Cielo y solo haria falta que tuvieramos un fe tan profunda como para creer en esto y la tierra se convertiria en un paraiso.
Miren esto tres veces en este pasaje, al hacer una afirmación, Jesús comienza diciendo “Yo les aseguro . . .” porque lo que va a decir es algo muy importante.
.- Primero, afirma que él no puede hacer nada por su propia cuenta, sino solo aquello que ve hacer al Padre. De modo que todos sus actos de curación, de perdón y de misericordia son un reflejo de lo que sucede en el cielo. Esto significa, hermano, que tu Padre te está mirando siempre con compasión, siempre está trabajando y trayendo la paz del cielo a tu vida.
.- Luego, Jesús dice que quien escucha su palabra y cree en su Padre será liberado de la condenación y tiene la vida eterna. Esto no se refiere solo a los primeros cristianos, sino a los de hoy también. Así, el cielo se llena de las oraciones de cuantos nos han precedido, incluso nuestros seres queridos. Ellos están orando para que nosotros también aceptemos el don de la vida eterna, y nos están animando a seguir adelante, para que lleguemos a ese lugar donde todo juicio desaparece y todo se llena de la gloria de Dios.
.- En tercer lugar, Jesús dijo que llegaría el tiempo en que todo aquel que escuchara su palabra volvería a la vida. El Hijo de Dios sigue hablándonos incluso ahora mismo; nos llama y nos ofrece su sabiduría y su guía, su esperanza y la sanación de las heridas del pasado.
Dedica un momento hoy a imaginarte el cielo como un lugar de inmensa energía. Escucha a tu Padre que te dice palabras de amor y consolación; piensa que sus ángeles te cuidan sin cesar a ti y a tus seres queridos. Imagínate que los santos rezan por ti y te animan. ¡Tú no estás solo! En realidad, cuando lleguemos al cielo, seguramente nos sorprenderemos de encontrar a muchos seres queridos y otras personas conocidas o no conocidas que nos darán la bienvenida con los brazos abiertos. ¡Qué ocasión tan gloriosa y llena de gozo!
“Padre celestial, perdóname por todas las veces que he pensado que tú estabas lejos de mí. Gracias por concederme la gracia del cielo.” Amen

They are praying that we too accept the gift of eternal life, and they are encouraging us to move on, so that we reach that place where all judgment disappears and everything is filled with the glory of God.
- In the third place, Jesus said that the time would come when everyone who heard his word would come back to life. The Son of God continues to speak to us even now; He calls us and offers us his wisdom and guidance, his hope and the healing of the wounds of the past.
Take a moment today to imagine heaven as a place of immense energy. Listen to your Father who tells you words of love and consolation; think that your angels constantly take care of you and your loved ones. Imagine that the saints pray for you and encourage you. You are not alone! Actually, when we get to heaven, we will surely be surprised to find many loved ones and other known or unknown people who will welcome us with open arms. What a glorious and joyful occasion!
