Bienaventurados....

Mt 5, 1-12

GospelJN 19:25-34

Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother
and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas,
and Mary of Magdala.
When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved,
he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son."
Then he said to the disciple,
"Behold, your mother."
And from that hour the disciple took her into his home.
After this, aware that everything was now finished,
in order that the Scripture might be fulfilled,
Jesus said, "I thirst."
There was a vessel filled with common wine.
So they put a sponge soaked in wine on a sprig of hyssop
and put it up to his mouth.
When Jesus had taken the wine, he said,
"It is finished."
And bowing his head, he handed over the spirit.

Now since it was preparation day,
in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath,
for the sabbath day of that week was a solemn one,
the Jews asked Pilate that their legs be broken
and they be taken down.
So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first
and then of the other one who was crucified with Jesus.
But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead,
they did not break his legs,
but one soldier thrust his lance into his side,
and immediately Blood and water flowed out.

Meditacion:
Amen

After spending and living the joy of Easter time and closing yesterday with the Pentecostal party, today begins ordinary time.
And we started it in a very special way, remembering the Blessed Virgin Mary, the "Theotokos" as our orthodox brothers call it.
And we find ourselves, to open this ordinary time with the gospel of the Sermon on the Mount. If only this fragment is the only one that existed of all that Jesus proclaimed, it would be enough.
Because at this time the Sermon on the Mount is especially current; today more than ever, people need to be comforted, they are hungry and thirsty for justice, they suffer in different ways.
And today as it is never important to convey that we must be merciful, we must be clean of heart and, unfortunately, also, we are being persecuted for the same cause and killed for being followers of the way.
Brothers, let us begin this ordinary time by asking Mary for her intercession in our lives and actively working for peace and the harmony of the world; There are many dark forces that refuse to abandon the reality of this world and, at first glance, it seems that they are winning.
But below, love keeps running, keeps working, is still there and is, at the end of the day, the engine that should move us in each moment.
"Blessed Virgin Mary, who accepted the invitation of the Father to be the Mother of her Son, guide me, my Mother, in the search for justice, peace and fraternity." Amen
