Caminemos todos juntos

Jn 17, 20-26

En aquel tiempo, Jesús levantó los ojos al cielo y dijo: "Padre, no sólo te pido por mis discípulos, sino también por los que van a creer en mí por la palabra de ellos, para que todos sean uno, como tú, Padre, en mí y yo en ti somos uno, a fin de que sean uno en nosotros y el mundo crea que tú me has enviado.

Yo les he dado la gloria que tú me diste, para que sean uno, como nosotros somos uno. Yo en ellos y tú en mí, para que su unidad sea perfecta y así el mundo conozca que tú me has enviado y que los amas, como me amas a mí.

Padre, quiero que donde yo esté, estén también conmigo los que me has dado, para que contemplen mi gloria, la que me diste, porque me has amado desde antes de la creación del mundo.

Padre justo, el mundo no te ha conocido; pero yo sí te conozco y éstos han conocido que tú me enviaste. Yo les he dado a conocer tu nombre y se lo seguiré dando a conocer, para que el amor con que me amas esté en ellos y yo también en ellos''.

Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying:
"I pray not only for these,
but also for those who will believe in me through their word,
so that they may all be one,
as you, Father, are in me and I in you,
that they also may be in us,
that the world may believe that you sent me.
And I have given them the glory you gave me,
so that they may be one, as we are one,
I in them and you in me,
that they may be brought to perfection as one,
that the world may know that you sent me,
and that you loved them even as you loved me.
Father, they are your gift to me.
I wish that where I am they also may be with me,
that they may see the glory that you gave me,
because you loved me before the foundation of the world.
Righteous Father, the world also does not know you,
but I know you, and they know that you sent me.
I made known to them your name and I will make it known,
that the love with which you loved me
may be in them and I in them."

Meditacion:

Como esenio el evangelio de hoy me llega especialmente.

 "Padre, no sólo te pido por mis discípulos, sino también por los que van a creer en mí por la palabra de ellos, para que todos sean uno, como tú, Padre, en mí y yo en ti somos uno, a fin de que sean uno en nosotros y el mundo crea que tú me has enviado"

Gran parte de mi trabajo es, justamente, la unidad de todas las denominaciones.

Hoy me levanto y leo que el Papa Francisco declaro que "No vamos a esperar por los teologos" a la hora de buscar la unidad con otras denominaciones sino que "todos deberiamos caminar bajo la unidad de la cruz de Cristo".

Esto me puso muy contento porque apunta  a la realidad de hoy dia, debemos caminar con nuestros hermanos, sean catolicos, luteranos, episcopales, metodistas, baptistas, musulmanes, evangelicos o cualquier otra denominacion, no para discutir teologia sino para unirnos como hermanos y caminar juntos.

Yo se que "bajar" ese discurso, esa linea, especialmente en ciertos sectores de la Iglesia Catolica Romana va a llevar tiempo pero debemos hacerlo porque, la verdad, todos vivimos en el mismo planeta y todos podemos enriquecernos de todos.

Comencemos conociendo al que se sienta al lado en la Iglesia, saludemos despues de la celebracion, no salgamos corriendo; visitemos otras denominaciones... seremos recibidos con respeto y alegria, procuremos conocer personas de otras denominaciones y charlar sobre nuestras diferencias y similitudes.

En suma, caminemos de la mano, caminemos hacia Cristo, lleguemos a la puerta del cielo todos juntos...

“Padre eterno, quiero ser uno contigo, mis hermanos y con Jesús, mi Señor. Te ofrezco mi vida y te ruego que hagas de mi vida un testimonio vivo de tu amor para todo mundo.” Amen

How I pray today's gospel reaches me especially.

 "Father, I not only ask you for my disciples, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that all may be one, like you, Father, in me and I in you are one, in order that they be one in us and the world believe that you have sent me "

Much of my work is, precisely, the unity of all denominations.

Today I get up and read that Pope Francis declared that "We are not going to wait for the theologians" when seeking unity with other denominations but "we should all walk under the unity of the cross of Christ".

This made me very happy because it points to the reality of today, we must walk with our brothers, be Catholics, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Methodists, Baptists, Muslims, Evangelicals or any other denomination, not to discuss theology but to unite as brothers and walk together.

I know that "lowering" that discourse, that line, especially in certain sectors of the Roman Catholic Church will take time but we must do it because, truthfully, we all live on the same planet and we can all enrich ourselves.

Let's start knowing whoever sits next to the Church, let's say goodbye after the celebration, let's not run away; let's visit other denominations ... we will be received with respect and joy, let's try to meet people from other denominations and talk about our differences and similarities.

In short, let's walk hand in hand, walk towards Christ, come to the door of heaven all together ...

"Eternal Father, I want to be one with you, my brothers and with Jesus, my Lord. I offer you my life and I ask you to make of my life a living testimony of your love for all the world. "Amen
