Traten a los demas...

Mt 7, 6. 12-14

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "No den a los perros las cosas santas ni echen sus perlas a los cerdos, no sea que las pisoteen y después se vuelvan contra ustedes y los despedacen.

Traten a los demás como quieren que ellos los traten a ustedes. En esto se resumen la ley y los profetas.

Entren por la puerta estrecha; porque ancha es la puerta y amplio el camino que conduce a la perdición, y son muchos los que entran por él. Pero ¡qué estrecha es la puerta y qué angosto el camino que conduce a la vida, y qué pocos son los que lo encuentran!"

Jesus said to his disciples:
"Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine,
lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.

"Do to others whatever you would have them do to you.
This is the Law and the Prophets.

"Enter through the narrow gate;
for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction,
and those who enter through it are many.
How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life.
And those who find it are few."

Meditacion:

“Tratad a los demás como queréis que ellos os traten”. Esta simple regla esta presente de una manera u otra en todas las religiones del mundo.

Pero la diferencia es que Jesus quiere que seamos proactivos con nuestro amor por lo que nos pide no solo que no hagamos el mal al otro sino que lo amemos o sea que hagamos el bien al otro.

Esta diferencia marca un antes y un despues pues antes, el cumplimiento de este consejo se hacía simplemente por “no hacer” o evitar el mal hacia los demás. En Jesús, este consejo es una invitación a hacer el bien por los demás de la forma que esperamos recibir los beneficios que las personas pueden hacernos. El amor verdadero se concretiza en el quehacer cotidiano. Por eso, Santo Ignacio decía que “el amor se debe poner más en las obras que en las palabras”. No basta decir que no hacemos el mal a los demás, como suele ocurrir en algunas confesiones. Esto no es suficiente. Lo que Jesús nos pide es que seamos proactivos, que tengamos control de nuestra conducta de forma creativa, positiva y, sobre todo, activa.  

Y más, al usar esta medida, nuestro relacionamiento estará en conformidad con las enseñanzas de Dios presentes en la Ley y en los profetas. Además, la probabilidad en crear relaciones fraternas aumenta al aplicarla. Esto lo vemos claramente en la primera lectura de hoy. Abrán y Lot se hicieron ricos en rebaño, tierras, oro y plata. Pero la riqueza se hizo un obstáculo en la convivencia de ellos; y empezaron los conflictos. Abrán da pruebas de que no querría conflictos y sugiere la separación para evitar algo peor: “no haya disputas entre nosotros dos, ni entre nuestros pastores, pues somos hermanos”. Abrán deja a Lot la elección de la parte de la tierra que quisiese, renunciando a las mejores tierras. Es una actitud a la que no todos estamos dispuestos: renunciar a nuestros intereses egoístas en pro de la fraternidad.

Pidamos al Señor que nos ayude a superar todos los obstáculos que impiden la solidaridad hacia los demás, que nos ayude a ensanchar nuestro corazón con buenas acciones, pues, al fin y al cabo, todos ganamos en hacer el bien.

“Señor mío Jesucristo, perdón por las veces que no te he seguido de todo corazón o he desistido de hacerlo. Dame tus fuerzas, Señor, para seguir siempre tus pasos.”  Amen

"Treat others as you want them to treat you." This simple rule is present in one way or another in all the religions of the world.

But the difference is that Jesus wants us to be proactive with our love for what he asks us not only to not do evil to the other but to love him or to do good to the other.

This difference marks a before and after then before, the fulfillment of this advice was done simply by "not doing" or avoiding the evil towards others. In Jesus, this advice is an invitation to do good for others in the way we expect to receive the benefits that people can give us. True love is concretized in everyday life. Therefore, Saint Ignatius said that "love should be put more in the works than in the words". It is not enough to say that we do not do evil to others, as often happens in some confessions. This is not enough. What Jesus asks of us is that we be proactive, that we have control of our behavior in a creative, positive and, above all, active way.

And more, by using this measure, our relationship will be in accordance with the teachings of God present in the Law and in the prophets. In addition, the probability of creating fraternal relations increases when applied. We see this clearly in today's first reading. Abrán and Lot became rich in flock, lands, gold and silver. But wealth became an obstacle in their coexistence; and the conflicts began. Abrán gives evidence that he would not want conflicts and suggests separation to avoid something worse: "there are no disputes between the two of us, nor between our pastors, because we are brothers". Abrán leaves to Lot the election of the part of the earth that wanted, resigning to the best earth. It is an attitude to which we are not all willing: to renounce our selfish interests in favor of fraternity.

Let us ask the Lord to help us to overcome all the obstacles that prevent solidarity towards others, to help us broaden our hearts with good actions, because, after all, we all win in doing good.

"My Lord Jesus Christ, sorry for the times that I have not followed you with my whole heart or I have given up on doing it. Give me your strength, Lord, to always follow your steps. "Amen
