Tus ojos son la luz del mundo

Mt 6, 19-23

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "No acumulen ustedes tesoros en la tierra, donde la polilla y el moho los destruyen, donde los ladrones perforan las paredes y se los roban. Más bien acumulen tesoros en el cielo, donde ni la polilla ni el moho los destruyen, ni hay ladrones que perforen las paredes y se los roben; porque donde está tu tesoro, ahí también está tu corazón.

Tus ojos son la luz de tu cuerpo; de manera que, si tus ojos están sanos, todo tu cuerpo tendrá luz. Pero si tus ojos están enfermos, todo tu cuerpo tendrá oscuridad. Y si lo que en ti debería ser luz, no es más que oscuridad, ¡qué negra no será tu propia oscuridad!"

Jesus said to his disciples:
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and decay destroy, and thieves break in and steal.
But store up treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor decay destroys, nor thieves break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.

"The lamp of the body is the eye.
If your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light;
but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness.
And if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be."

Meditacion:

Hay una frase que dice "los ojos son el espejo del alma" y Jesus hoy dice nos pide tener mucho cuidado con lo que esos ojos miran.

Todos nosotros sabemos lo rapida que es nuestra mente a la hora de asociar una imagen con un pensamiento.

O sea que si solo estoy mirando con malicia o lujuria a otra hermana o hermano o viendo peliculas violentas o de situaciones incomodas, esas imagenes generaran pensamientos en la misma direccion, haciendo que nos imaginemos lo mismo.

Este simple circuito mental del cual la mayoria no lo tenemos mucho en cuenta es el responsable de que a veces seamos tan vagos con lo que tenemos que hacer; preferimos alimentar nuestra mente con un entretenimiento que nos distraiga, sin darnos cuenta que estamos creando un conjunto de conductas con nuestros pensamientos.

Imaginense ustedes si en vez de alimentar nuestra mirada y pensamiento con tanta imagenes de violencia, lujuria, envidia y demas que nos bombardean casi constantemente solo recibieramos imagenes de acciones positivas... sin duda que el mundo entero bajaria su tension.

Dios habla en el silencio, en la oracion; es muy dificil que logremos conectarnos con Dios si nos alimentamos permanentemente de imagenes perversas. Por eso es tan importante en algun momento del dia apagar todo y orar en silencio, no como una obligacion sino como un lugar especial donde nos vamos a encontrar con ese amigo especial que tanto nos ha ayudado en el dia a dia.

Y termino con otra frase (refranes muy antiguos) que dice "de la abundancia del corazon habla la boca" y que sin duda tambien resuena en este evangelio de Jesus "si tus ojos están sanos, todo tu cuerpo tendrá luz. Pero si tus ojos están enfermos, todo tu cuerpo tendrá oscuridad"

Hermanos debemos ser muy selectivos sobre lo que vemos y como lo vemos, cuidandonos de alimentar nuestra alma solo con lo positivo, con lo emocionalmente buen“Señor, ayúdame a proteger mis ojos y volverme a ti de todo corazón.”o para nosotros.

Y de la misma manera deberiamos aplicar esto a las personas que nos rodean, pero ese es otro largo discurso que otro dia hablaremos.

“Señor, ayúdame a proteger mis ojos y volverme a ti de todo corazón.”

There is a phrase that says "the eyes are the mirror of the soul" and Jesus says today he asks us to be very careful with what those eyes look at.

We all know how quick our mind is at the time of associating an image with a thought.

So if I'm just looking with malice or lust at another sister or brother or watching violent movies or uncomfortable situations, these images generate thoughts in the same direction, making us imagine the same.

This simple mental circuit of which most of us do not have much in mind is responsible for that sometimes we are so lazy with what we have to do; we prefer to feed our mind with entertainment that distracts us, without realizing that we are creating a set of behaviors with our thoughts.

Imagine if instead of feeding our eyes and thoughts with so many images of violence, lust, envy and others that bombard us almost constantly we would only receive images of positive actions ... without a doubt that the whole world would lower its tension.

God speaks in silence, in prayer; It is very difficult for us to connect with God if we constantly feed on perverse images. That is why it is so important at some point of the day to turn everything off and pray silently, not as an obligation but as a special place where we will meet that special friend who has helped us so much every day.

And I finish with another phrase (very old proverbs) that says "from the abundance of the heart speaks the mouth" and that no doubt also resonates in this Gospel of Jesus "if your eyes are healthy, your whole body will have light, but if your eyes they are sick, your whole body will have darkness "

Brothers we must be very selective about what we see and how we see it, taking care to feed our soul only with the positive, with the emotionally good "Lord, help me protect my eyes and turn to you with all my heart." Or for us.
