Mt 18, 15-20

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Si tu hermano comete un pecado, ve y amonéstalo a solas. Si te escucha, habrás salvado a tu hermano. Si no te hace caso, hazte acompañar de una o dos personas, para que todo lo que se diga conste por boca de dos o tres testigos. Pero si ni así te hace caso, díselo a la comunidad; y si ni a la comunidad le hace caso, apártate de él como de un pagano o de un publicano.

Yo les aseguro que todo lo que aten en la tierra, quedará atado en el cielo, y todo lo que desaten en la tierra, quedará desatado en el cielo.

Yo les aseguro también que si dos de ustedes se ponen de acuerdo para pedir algo, sea lo que fuere, mi Padre celestial se lo concederá; pues donde dos o tres se reúnen en mi nombre, ahí estoy yo en medio de ellos''.

Jesus said to his disciples:
"If your brother sins against you,
go and tell him his fault between you and him alone.
If he listens to you, you have won over your brother.
If he does not listen, 
take one or two others along with you,
so that  every fact may be established
on the testimony of two or three witnesses.
If he refuses to listen to them, tell the Church.
If he refuses to listen even to the Church,
then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector.
Amen, I say to you,
whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again, amen, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth
about anything for which they are to pray,
it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them."

Meditacion:

Antes de hablar del evangelio de hoy, me gustaria recordar a San Maximiliano Kolbe, un sacerdote polaco martirizado en 1941 durante la ocupacion nazi a Polonia.

No es un Santo de hace cientos de anos, San Maximiliano fue condenado a morir de hambre con otros 9 personas luego de que El pidiera ser cambiado con otro hombre que tenia familia (y que sobrevivio al campo de concentracion). Dar la vida por el otro es algo increiblemente dificil y sin embargo este Santo, en medio de un campo de concentracion, dio el mejor ejemplo para todos y aun ilumina nuestras vidas.

El evangelio de hoy nos muestra como Jesus les ensenaba a sus discipulos a manejar el pecado en la comunidad.

Es curioso ver como Jesus  acepta que habra personas a las cuales habra que apartar porque no querran cambiar su actitud; esta idea parece casi contradictoria con el "ama a Dios y tu hermano" pero en realidad hay muchas ocasiones donde es mejor apartarse de una persona toxica para no seguir el mismo camino nosotros.

No por eso dejaremos de orar por su conversion pero, sencillamente, a veces las personas no estan listas para aceptar el amor que nosotros o Dios les brinda.

Tú puedes expresar misericordia y perdón a quienes tienes cerca, tal como lo hace Dios contigo. ¿Cómo hacerlo? Una manera es preguntarse: “¿Cuántas veces digo o pienso palabras negativas o de crítica contra alguien?” Tal vez creas que son expresiones inofensivas, pero las palabras realmente tienen el poder de atar a las personas en las mismas cosas que nos resultan desagradables a nosotros. Ahora, te puedes preguntar: “¿Cuántas veces digo o pienso expresiones de perdón, comprensión y bondad para otros?” Estos pensamientos también son tan potentes como los otros y ¡Dios los ve y los escucha todos! 

Cambia de actitud y pronuncia palabras de libertad para ti mismo y para tus semejantes. En vez de decir “Soy demasiado criticón”, afirma “Yo puedo ser compasivo como Dios”, y cuando cometas el mismo error por enésima vez, trata de decir “La próxima vez lo haré mejor”, o “Señor, esto me cuesta mucho. ¡Necesito tu ayuda!” Si ves que los adolescentes hacen desorden en la plaza o que los conductores manejan de modo agresivo en la carretera, reza por ellos y afirma que Dios los ama y quiere darles una vida mejor, pronuncia palabras pacificadoras y de bendición sobre ellos. Busca las actitudes liberadoras y misericordiosas que hay en tu corazón y ejercita este asombroso poder para disculpar y perdonar.

“Amado Jesucristo, ayúdame a perdonar y pronunciar bendiciones sobre mí mismo, mi familia, mis amigos y hasta mis enemigos.” Amen

Before talking about today's Gospel, I would like to remember Saint Maximilian Kolbe, a Polish priest martyred in 1941 during the Nazi occupation of Poland.

Not a Saint of hundreds of years ago, St. Maximilian was condemned to starve to death with another 9 people after He asked to be changed with another man who had a family (and who survived the concentration camp). Giving life for the other is something incredibly difficult and yet this Saint, in the midst of a concentration camp, set the best example for all and even illuminates our lives.

Today's gospel shows us how Jesus taught his disciples to handle sin in the community.

It is curious to see how Jesus accepts that there will be people who will have to be separated because they will not want to change their attitude; This idea seems almost contradictory to the "love God and your brother" but in reality there are many occasions where it is better to depart from a toxic person so as not to follow the same path.

That is why we will not stop praying for their conversion but, simply, sometimes people are not ready to accept the love that we or God gives them.

You can express mercy and forgiveness to those close to you, just as God does with you. How to do it? One way is to ask: "How many times do I say or think negative or critical words against someone?" You may think they are harmless expressions, but words really have the power to bind people in the same things that are unpleasant to us. we. Now, you may ask yourself: "How many times do I say or think expressions of forgiveness, understanding and kindness to others?" These thoughts are also as powerful as the others and God sees them and hears them all!

Change your attitude and speak words of freedom for yourself and your fellow man. Instead of saying "I am too critical," he says, "I can be compassionate like God," and when you make the same mistake for the umpteenth time, try saying "Next time I will do better," or "Lord, this costs me a lot. . I need your help! ”If you see that teenagers mess in the square or that drivers drive aggressively on the road, pray for them and affirm that God loves them and wants to give them a better life, utter words of peace and blessing about them. Find the liberating and merciful attitudes in your heart and exercise this amazing power to apologize and forgive.
