Lc 4, 38-44

En aquel tiempo, Jesús salió de la sinagoga y entró en la casa de Simón. La suegra de Simón estaba con fiebre muy alta y le pidieron a Jesús que hiciera algo por ella. Jesús, de pie junto a ella, mandó con energía a la fiebre, y la fiebre desapareció. Ella se levantó enseguida y se puso a servirles.

Al meterse el sol, todos los que tenían enfermos se los llevaron a Jesús y él, imponiendo las manos sobre cada uno, los fue curando de sus enfermedades. De muchos de ellos salían también demonios que gritaban: "¡Tú eres el Hijo de Dios!" Pero él les ordenaba enérgicamente que se callaran, porque sabían que él era el Mesías.

Al día siguiente se fue a un lugar solitario y la gente lo andaba buscando. Cuando lo encontraron, quisieron retenerlo, para que no se alejara de ellos; pero él les dijo: "También tengo que anunciarles el Reino de Dios a las otras ciudades, pues para eso he sido enviado". Y se fue a predicar en las sinagogas de Judea.

After Jesus left the synagogue, he entered the house of Simon.
Simon's mother-in-law was afflicted with a severe fever,
and they interceded with him about her.
He stood over her, rebuked the fever, and it left her.
She got up immediately and waited on them.

At sunset, all who had people sick with various diseases brought them to him.
He laid his hands on each of them and cured them.
And demons also came out from many, shouting, "You are the Son of God."
But he rebuked them and did not allow them to speak
because they knew that he was the Christ.

At daybreak, Jesus left and went to a deserted place.
The crowds went looking for him, and when they came to him,
they tried to prevent him from leaving them.
But he said to them, "To the other towns also
I must proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God,
because for this purpose I have been sent."
And he was preaching in the synagogues of Judea.

Meditacion:

Hay varias detalles que debemos ver en el evangelio de hoy.

Creo que el que mas me toco fue el hecho de que la gente de Cafarnaum queria acaparar a Jesus, que se quedara "solo con ellos"

Retener a Jesús es convertirlo en ídolo, instrumentalizarlo para nuestros intereses mezquinos, pensar que solo es correcto mirarlo y estudiarlo desde nuestras ideas y convicciones cortas y chatas. Jesús es universal, ha venido también “para otros pueblos”. Y en esta expresión, caben otras culturas, otras visiones de la realidad y de la Iglesia, otras costumbres. No achiquemos a nuestro Dios, que traspasa el tiempo y el espacio.

Y al salir de la sinagoga, a Jesús le ha entrado la fiebre de curar, empezando por la fiebre de la suegra de Pedro. Luego se extenderá a todos los enfermos que le presentaban, al ponerse el sol. Por fin, da termina curando a un endemoniado que acaba confesando: “Tú eres el Santo de Dios”. Un detalle que les gusta resaltar a los que leen este texto; Jesús, al curar, no olvida el detalle de imponer las manos “sobre cada uno”: cada uno era importante. Tal abundancia de sanaciones,  por parte de Jesús, ocasiona que la gente quede embriagada con tanta felicidad. Por eso, pretenden retenerle, que no se vaya, que solo lo acaparen ellos mismos.

No achiquemos a nuestro Dios, que traspasa el tiempo y el espacio.  En fin, hagamos todo, “mirando a cada uno”, deteniéndonos en cada persona, llamando a cada uno por su nombre. Es señal de amor. Somos comunidad; no, masa. “Me has mirado a los ojos, sonriendo, has dicho mi nombre”. Así cantamos.

Así pues, hermano no te conformes con lo mínimo; decídete a seguir a Cristo de todo corazón. Reordena tus prioridades y reconoce que no hay nada más valioso en esta vida que iniciar y mantener una comunión de amor y fidelidad con el Salvador del mundo. Él te está esperando con una sonrisa en los labios y con los brazos abiertos.

“Jesús, Señor mío, permite que tu Palabra me comunique vida y me revele tu divina voluntad. Quiero responder correctamente a la gracia que tú me concedes.” Amen

There are several details that we should see in today's gospel.

I think that the one that touched me the most was the fact that the people of Capernaum wanted to monopolize Jesus, to stay "alone with them"

To retain Jesus is to make him an idol, instrumentalize him for our petty interests, to think that it is only right to look at him and study him from our short and flat ideas and convictions. Jesus is universal, he has also come "for other peoples." And in this expression, there are other cultures, other visions of reality and the Church, other customs. Let's not shrink our God, who transcends time and space.

And when he left the synagogue, Jesus had a fever to heal, starting with Peter's mother-in-law's fever. Then it will be extended to all the patients who presented it, at sunset. Finally, he ends up healing a demoniac who ends up confessing: "You are the Holy One of God." A detail that people who read this text like to highlight; Jesus, in healing, does not forget the detail of laying hands "on each one": each one was important. Such an abundance of healing, by Jesus, causes people to get drunk with so much happiness. Therefore, they intend to retain him, that he does not leave, that they only monopolize him.

Let's not shrink our God, who transcends time and space. Anyway, let's do everything, "looking at each one", stopping at each person, calling each one by name. It is a sign of love. We are community; No, dough "You have looked me in the eye, smiling, you have said my name." This is how we sing.

So, brother, don't settle for the least; decide to follow Christ with all your heart. Reorder your priorities and recognize that there is nothing more valuable in this life than to initiate and maintain a communion of love and faithfulness with the Savior of the world. He is waiting for you with a smile on his lips and with open arms.
