La pesca

Lc 5, 1-11

En aquel tiempo, Jesús estaba a orillas del lago de Genesaret y la gente se agolpaba en torno suyo para oír la palabra de Dios. Jesús vio dos barcas que estaban junto a la orilla. Los pescadores habían desembarcado y estaban lavando las redes. Subió Jesús a una de las barcas, la de Simón, le pidió que la alejara un poco de tierra, y sentado en la barca, enseñaba a la multitud.

Cuando acabó de hablar, dijo a Simón: "Lleva la barca mar adentro y echen sus redes para pescar". Simón replicó: "Maestro, hemos trabajado toda la noche y no hemos pescado nada; pero, confiado en tu palabra echaré las redes". Así lo hizo y cogieron tal cantidad de pescados, que las redes se rompían. Entonces hicieron señas a sus compañeros, que estaban en la otra barca, para que vinieran a ayudarlos. Vinieron ellos y llenaron tanto las dos barcas, que casi se hundían.

Al ver esto, Simón Pedro se arrojó a los pies de Jesús y le dijo: "¡Apártate de mí, Señor, porque soy un pecador!" Porque tanto él como sus compañeros estaban llenos de asombro, al ver la pesca que habían conseguido. Lo mismo les pasaba a Santiago y a Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que eran compañeros de Simón.

Entonces Jesús le dijo a Simón: "No temas; desde ahora serás pescador de hombres". Luego llevaron las barcas a tierra, y dejándolo todo, lo siguieron.

GospelLK 5:1-11

While the crowd was pressing in on Jesus and listening to the word of God,
he was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret.
He saw two boats there alongside the lake;
the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets.
Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon,
he asked him to put out a short distance from the shore.
Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat.
After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon,
"Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch."
Simon said in reply,
"Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing,
but at your command I will lower the nets."
When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish
and their nets were tearing.
They signaled to their partners in the other boat
to come to help them. 
They came and filled both boats
so that the boats were in danger of sinking.
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said,
"Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man."
For astonishment at the catch of fish they had made seized him
and all those with him,
and likewise James and John, the sons of Zebedee,
who were partners of Simon.
Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid;
from now on you will be catching men."
When they brought their boats to the shore,
they left everything and followed him.

Meditacion:

El evangelio de hoy nos presenta a un Simon Pedro cansado de trabajar, habian trabajado toda la noche para nada.

Y ahora venia este tipo medio raro del que hablaba todo el mundo, les pide prestado sus botes y luego les dice que tiren las redes!

Pero es que no habia escuchado? Ellos habian estado pescando toda la noche y nada!

Cuantas veces nos pasa lo mismo... Intentamos por aca, por alla, le buscamos la vuelta por el otro lado y nada... ese trabajo que tanto necesitamos no aparece, nuestra familia por la que luchamos cada dia esta en problemas, nuestra pareja con la que iniciamos un presente en comun nos desiluciona...

Pero Pedro elige confiar en el Senor "...confiado en tu palabra, echare las redes" y de repente las redes reventaban y necesitaron la ayuda de otra barca para sacarlas a tierra.

Es que cuando hacemos algo con Jesus de copiloto, las cosas fluyen, pasan, suenos que por anos fueron eso, suenos, se convierten en realidad; bendiciones que estan esperando por nosotros de generaciones llueven sobre nosotros.

Y el segundo paso llega, ante ese milagro inesperado, esa bendicion que no esperabamos, nuestra propia realidad pecadora se nos presenta "Apartate de mi Senor, porque soy pecador!" Cuantas veces yo he escuchado en el confesionario "No merezco lo que Dios me da, soy pecador!" Y es el alma, reconociendose.

Pero Jesus no vino por los santos sino por los pecadores.

Animense entonces mis amigos! Pongamos a Jesus a nuestra derecha en el control de nuestras vidas y pongamos todo (nuestro trabajo, nuestra familia, nuestra pareja, etc) en sus manos.

Y para hacer eso de una manera correcta, tratemos de visitar al Santisimo, a sus pies contemosle todo, alegrias y tristezas, agradecimientos y necesidades; El siempre esta esperando...

“Amado Jesús, sí, yo creo que cuando te entrego mis problemas, tú me puedes ayudar milagrosamente.” Amen

Today's Gospel introduces us to a Simon Pedro tired of working, they had worked all night for nothing.

And now came this weird half guy that everyone was talking about, he borrows their boats and then tells them to throw the nets!

But has he not heard? They had been fishing all night and nothing!

How many times the same thing happens to us ... We try here, there, we look for the return on the other side and nothing ... that work we need so much does not appear, our family for which we fight every day is in trouble, our couple with whom we initiate a present in common disappoints us ...

But Peter chooses to trust the Lord "... trusting in your word, I will cast the nets" and suddenly the nets burst and they needed the help of another boat to bring them to the ground.

It is that when we do something with Jesus as a co-pilot, things flow, happen, dreams that for years were that, dreams, become reality; Blessings that are waiting for us from generations rain on us.

And the second step comes, before that unexpected miracle, that blessing that we did not expect, our own sinful reality is presented to us "Depart from my Lord, because I am a sinner!" How many times have I heard in the confessional "I don't deserve what God gives me, I'm a sinner!" And it is the soul, recognizing itself.

But Jesus did not come for the saints but for the sinners.

Encourage then my friends! Let's put Jesus on our right in control of our lives and put everything (our work, our family, our partner, etc.) in their hands.

And to do that in a correct way, let's try to visit the Blessed Sacrament, at his feet tell him everything, joys and sorrows, thanks and needs; He is always waiting ...

“Beloved Jesus, yes, I believe that when I give you my problems, you can help me miraculously.” Amen
