La puerta

Lc 13, 22-30

En aquel tiempo, Jesús iba enseñando por ciudades y pueblos, mientras se encaminaba a Jerusalén. Alguien le preguntó: "Señor, ¿es verdad que son pocos los que se salvan?"

Jesús le respondió: "Esfuércense en entrar por la puerta, que es angosta, pues yo les aseguro que muchos tratarán de entrar y no podrán. Cuando el dueño de la casa se levante de la mesa y cierre la puerta, ustedes se quedarán afuera y se pondrán a tocar la puerta, diciendo: 'Señor, ábrenos'. Pero él les responderá: 'No sé quiénes son ustedes'. Entonces le dirán con insistencia: 'Hemos comido y bebido contigo y tú has enseñado en nuestras plazas'. Pero él replicará: 'Yo les aseguro que no sé quiénes son ustedes. Apártense de mí, todos ustedes los que hacen el mal'. Entonces llorarán ustedes y se desesperarán, cuando vean a Abraham, a Isaac, a Jacob y a todos los profetas en el Reino de Dios, y ustedes se vean echados fuera. Vendrán muchos del oriente y del poniente, del norte y del sur, y participarán en el banquete del Reino de Dios.

Pues los que ahora son los últimos, serán los primeros; y los que ahora son los primeros, serán los últimos".

Jesus passed through towns and villages,
teaching as he went and making his way to Jerusalem.
Someone asked him,
"Lord, will only a few people be saved?"
He answered them,
"Strive to enter through the narrow gate,
for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter
but will not be strong enough.
After the master of the house has arisen and locked the door,
then will you stand outside knocking and saying,
'Lord, open the door for us.'
He will say to you in reply,
'I do not know where you are from.'
And you will say,
'We ate and drank in your company and you taught in our streets.'
Then he will say to you,
'I do not know where you are from.
Depart from me, all you evildoers!'
And there will be wailing and grinding of teeth
when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God
and you yourselves cast out.
And people will come from the east and the west
and from the north and the south
and will recline at table in the Kingdom of God.
For behold, some are last who will be first,
and some are first who will be last."

Meditacion:

¿Cuántas veces hemos escuchado frases del tipo: "Este no es de los nuestros" aplicada a inmigrantes que aparecen en nuestra ciudad, a cristianos que no son de nuestra parroquia o movimiento, a hombres y mujeres que escriben en periódicos que no son de nuestra devoción?

El "otro", en cuanto extraño, siempre nos produce desconcierto y a veces temor. Instintivamente tendemos a estar con "los nuestros", con los de nuestra cuerda. Pero eso, que es tan normal, ¿qué gracia tiene? Lo igual busca a lo igual. Pero el conocimiento y el amor sólo avanzan cuando se abren a lo desigual, a lo otro. Así ha hecho Dios queriéndonos a nosotros. Si no reflejamos esto mismos, vendrán "otros" que se sentará a la mesa en el Reino de Dios y nosotros seremos "echados fuera".

¿Serán pocos los que se salven? Jesús no responde a esta pregunta de un periodista aficionado que encontró de camino hacia Jerusalén. Quien se cierra en lo suyo, en lo seguro, se pierde a sí mismo, renuncia a aceptar la gracia que viene de fuera. Esta cerrazón es una condena.

Por eso hay una enorme diferencia entre decir que tenemos una parroquia abierta, donde entra el que quiera.... pero no siempre se siente bienvenido y acompañado y decir que tenemos una parroquia inclusiva donde todo el mundo se sienta a la mesa de la eucaristia en calidad de hermanos y hermanas, sin miradas extrañas, recibiendo a todos como amigos y hermanos.

De la misma manera, cuando dejamos atras lo que nos inmoviliza como ciertas estructuras corporativistas de la parroquia y avanzamos con una mirada de fe y amor hacia los demas, estamos "abriendo la puerta" a nuestra familia que son todos el mundo.

Jesús, miembro de un pueblo que tendía a considerarse el elegido y a cerrarse en su propio orgullo, siempre invita a abrir las puertas. Los que se abren a lo nuevo, a veces, sin caer en la cuenta, pueden recibir a ángeles en su propia casa.

“Señor y Salvador nuestro, fortalece nuestra fe para que en toda situación de tentación y tribulación resistamos firmes en la fe. Queremos estar arraigados en tu amor, porque sabemos que así estaremos seguros y sin miedo.” Amen

How many times have we heard phrases of the type: "This is not ours" applied to immigrants who appear in our city, to Christians who are not from our parish or movement, to men and women who write in newspapers that are not of our devotion?
The "other", as strange, always causes us bewilderment and sometimes fear. Instinctively we tend to be with "ours", with those of our rope. But that, which is so normal, how funny is it? The same looks the same. But knowledge and love only advance when they open up to the unequal, to the other. This is how God has done loving us. If we do not reflect this, "others" will come and will sit at the table in the Kingdom of God and we will be "cast out."
Will few be saved? Jesus does not answer this question from an amateur journalist who found his way to Jerusalem. Who closes in his own, in the sure thing, loses himself, renounces to accept the grace that comes from outside. This closure is a condemnation.
That is why there is a huge difference between saying that we have an open parish, where anyone wants to enter ... but it does not always feel welcome and accompanied and say that we have an inclusive parish where everyone sits at the table of the Eucharist as brothers and sisters, without strange looks, receiving everyone as friends and brothers.
In the same way, when we leave behind what immobilizes us as certain corporatist structures of the parish and move forward with a look of faith and love towards others, we are "opening the door" to our family that are all the world.
Jesus, a member of a town that tended to consider himself the chosen one and to close in his own pride, always invites to open the doors. Those who open up to the new, sometimes, without realizing it, can receive angels in their own home.
“Lord and our Savior, strengthen our faith so that in every situation of temptation and tribulation we stand firm in the faith. We want to be rooted in your love, because we know that we will be safe and fearless. ”Amen
