Dia de Santos

Mt 5, 1-12

En aquel tiempo, cuando Jesús vio a la muchedumbre, subió al monte y se sentó. Entonces se le acercaron sus discípulos. Enseguida comenzó a enseñarles, hablándoles así:

“Dichosos los pobres de espíritu,
porque de ellos es el Reino de los cielos.
Dichosos los que lloran,
porque serán consolados.
Dichosos los sufridos,
porque heredarán la tierra.
Dichosos los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia,
porque serán saciados.
Dichosos los misericordiosos,
porque obtendrán misericordia.
Dichosos los limpios de corazón,
porque verán a Dios.
Dichosos los que trabajan por la paz,
porque se les llamará hijos de Dios.
Dichosos los perseguidos por causa de la justicia,
porque de ellos es el Reino de los cielos.

Dichosos serán ustedes, cuando los injurien, los persigan y digan cosas falsas de ustedes por causa mía. Alégrense y salten de contento, porque su premio será grande en los cielos”.

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain,
and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
He began to teach them, saying:

"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you
and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.
Rejoice and be glad,
for your reward will be great in heaven."

Meditacion:

Hoy se celebra Dia de todos los Santos. Antes que me pregunten, si, debes ir a misa, es precepto para la Iglesia Catolica y casi todas las denominaciones hacen celebraciones en sus templos. O sea que no te hagas el tonto y ve. Hoy toca.

Con esta celebracion se busca recordar no solo a los santos que se listan en el santoral sino a todos los santos anonimos, aquellos que pasaron por esta vida, dando ejemplo de amor fraterno y caminando en la gracia del Padre.

Para ser un Santo digamos... "reconocido" la Iglesia hace toda una investigacion sobre la vida de esa persona, buscando testimonios, recopilando posibles milagros y finalmente, despues de años de investigacion, si se encuentra que la persona hizo los meritos respectivos, se la nombra Santo o Santa.

Pero la verdad que no creo que ningun santo haya vivido su vida pensando en ser entronizado al honor del altar y que le prendan velitas, creo que fueron y son personas comunes con vidas ordinarias, que las convirtieron en extraordinarias, por su fe, por su caridad, por su amor fraterno, por su entrega a sus hermanos.

Podemos nosotros, gente comun, aspirar a la santidad? bueno, no solo podemos sino que debemos, buscando siempre las oportunidades para ser instrumentos de Dios.

Teniendo todo esto presente, hoy es un día propicio para dar gracias a Dios por la bendición de todos estos santos no canonizados que hemos tenido el privilegio de conocer. También es un día para pensar en el modo en que tu vida influye en otras personas. Quizás no te consideres santo, pero tu testimonio de vida puede marcar una diferencia entre tus familiares y conocidos. El Señor dijo que todo el que sea pobre de espíritu, misericordioso, puro de corazón o pacífico es dichoso o bienaventurado. Y la santidad siempre se nota.

“Amado Jesús, gracias por los santos que me has permitido conocer en mi vida. Yo también quiero llegar a formar parte de esa gran multitud que habita en el cielo.”  Amen

Can we, common people, aspire to holiness? well, not only can we but we must, always looking for opportunities to be instruments of God.

With all this in mind, today is an auspicious day to thank God for the blessing of all these non-canonized saints we have had the privilege of knowing. It is also a day to think about how your life influences other people. You may not consider yourself a saint, but your testimony of life can make a difference between your family and acquaintances. The Lord said that everyone who is poor in spirit, merciful, pure in heart or peaceful is blissful or blessed. And holiness always shows.

“Beloved Jesus, thank you for the saints that you have allowed me to know in my life. I also want to become part of that great crowd that lives in heaven. ”Amen
