Mt 5, 20-26

GospelMT 5:20-26
Jesus said to his disciples:
“I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that
of the scribes and Pharisees,
you will not enter into the Kingdom of heaven.
“I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that
of the scribes and Pharisees,
you will not enter into the Kingdom of heaven.
“You have heard that it was said to your ancestors,
You shall not kill; and whoever kills will be liable to judgment.
But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother
will be liable to judgment,
and whoever says to his brother, Raqa,
will be answerable to the Sanhedrin,
and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ will be liable to fiery Gehenna.
Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar,
and there recall that your brother
has anything against you,
leave your gift there at the altar,
go first and be reconciled with your brother,
and then come and offer your gift.
Settle with your opponent quickly while on the way to court with him.
Otherwise your opponent will hand you over to the judge,
and the judge will hand you over to the guard,
and you will be thrown into prison.
Amen, I say to you,
you will not be released until you have paid the last penny.”

Meditacion:

One of the reasons why I followed my missionary and priestly vocation is because I fell in love with the Jesus of this Gospel today.
Direct, without political corrections of any kind, it tells us to "clean our house before cleaning the temple." simple, direct and to the heart.
Our justice, says Jesus, must be greater than that of the Pharisees and scribes, who sat in the forms and not in the sincerity of the heart, who prayed a lot but exhausted people with absurd commands and heavy burdens.
Set a point here. In our society it seems that the opposite happens ... nothing forces us to go to mass, to follow the precepts; It seems that if we do not pray or do not follow the Law of God, nothing happens.
And yet we are destined to follow it because it is the natural Law of love, compassion, mercy and peace between people. And here it does not matter what your belief is, it is something that we must exercise "naturally", from our hearts.
That is why, friends, Jesus is a way of life, a style of doing things always looking at others.
If you follow this way of life, without a doubt you will turn your life into a constant prayer and one day something will speak within you "you are not very far from the Kingdom of Heaven ... '
"Father help me turn my life into prayer" Amen
