Pescadores en el camino

 

Evangelio

Lc 5, 1-11

En aquel tiempo, Jesús estaba a orillas del lago de Genesaret y la gente se agolpaba en torno suyo para oír la palabra de Dios. Jesús vio dos barcas que estaban junto a la orilla. Los pescadores habían desembarcado y estaban lavando las redes. Subió Jesús a una de las barcas, la de Simón, le pidió que la alejara un poco de tierra, y sentado en la barca, enseñaba a la multitud.

Cuando acabó de hablar, dijo a Simón: “Lleva la barca mar adentro y echen sus redes para pescar”. Simón replicó: “Maestro, hemos trabajado toda la noche y no hemos pescado nada; pero, confiado en tu palabra echaré las redes”. Así lo hizo y cogieron tal cantidad de pescados, que las redes se rompían. Entonces hicieron señas a sus compañeros, que estaban en la otra barca, para que vinieran a ayudarlos. Vinieron ellos y llenaron tanto las dos barcas, que casi se hundían.

Al ver esto, Simón Pedro se arrojó a los pies de Jesús y le dijo: “¡Apártate de mí, Señor, porque soy un pecador!” Porque tanto él como sus compañeros estaban llenos de asombro, al ver la pesca que habían conseguido. Lo mismo les pasaba a Santiago y a Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que eran compañeros de Simón.

Entonces Jesús le dijo a Simón: “No temas; desde ahora serás pescador de hombres”. Luego llevaron las barcas a tierra, y dejándolo todo, lo siguieron

Gospel

LK 5:1-11

While the crowd was pressing in on Jesus and listening to the word of God,
he was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret.
He saw two boats there alongside the lake;
the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets.
Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon,
he asked him to put out a short distance from the shore.
Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat.
After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon,
“Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.”
Simon said in reply,
“Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing,
but at your command I will lower the nets.”
When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish
and their nets were tearing.
They signaled to their partners in the other boat
to come to help them. 
They came and filled both boats
so that the boats were in danger of sinking.
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said,
“Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.”
For astonishment at the catch of fish they had made seized him
and all those with him,
and likewise James and John, the sons of Zebedee,
who were partners of Simon.
Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid;
from now on you will be catching men.”
When they brought their boats to the shore,
they left everything and followed him.

Meditacion:

Este evangelio siempre me deja con una sonrisa. Y es porque interiormente, después de toda la grandeza del misterio de la pesca milagrosa, al final, ya casi cayéndose del relato dice algo que siempre me causo gracia "y dejándolo todo, lo siguieron"

Y yo me pregunto... el pescado es algo delicado, habian pescado como nunca, habia muchisimo que hacer.. limpiar y filetear, arreglar de nuevo las redes, repararlas y prepararlas para el otro dia, sin contar que con semejando pesca el dinero iba a ser muy bueno.

Y sin embargo, estos pescadores se dejaron llevar por la llamada de Jesus, dejaron todo (espero que encargado a alguien) y siguieron al Maestro.

Hicieron el life crossover como dicen los gringos por aca.

Despues de eso, sin duda que el camino no fue facil, Pedro escuchó a Jesús, luego le siguió, luego dudó, luego le volvió a seguir. Por el camino llegó a negar haber conocido a Jesús. Es que Pedro era una persona normal, como nosotros. Con sus debilidades y sus fortalezas. Lo importante es que se mantuvo en el empeño. Siguió tras Jesús. Y llegó a su meta. Si él pudo, nosotros también. No importa lo que haya habido por el camino. No importan los errores cometidos. Lo importante es seguir y llegar. Y, no lo dudemos, la gracias de Dios está con nosotros. Como lo estuvo con Pedro.

“Señor Jesús, gracias por invitarme a seguirte.” Amen

And I wonder ... the fish is something delicate, they had fished like never before, there was a lot to do ... clean and fillet, fix the nets again, repair them and prepare them for the next day, without counting that with resembling money fishing it was going to be very good.

And yet these fishermen were carried away by the call of Jesus, they left everything (I hope they commissioned someone) and followed the Master.

After that, without a doubt that the road was not easy, Peter listened to Jesus, then he followed him, then he doubted, then he followed him again. Along the way, he came to deny having met Jesus. It's that Pedro was a normal person, like us. With its weaknesses and its strengths. The important thing is that he stayed in the effort. He followed after Jesus. And he reached his goal. If he could, we could too. It doesn't matter what happened along the way. The mistakes made don't matter. The important thing is to go on and get there. And, let us not doubt it, the grace of God is with us. As it was with Pedro.

"Lord Jesus, thank you for inviting me to follow you." Amen
