Pecadores

Mc 2, 13-17

En aquel tiempo, Jesús salió de nuevo a caminar por la orilla del lago; toda la muchedumbre lo seguía y él les hablaba. Al pasar, vio a Leví (Mateo), el hijo de Alfeo, sentado en el banco de los impuestos, y le dijo: “Sígueme”. Él se levantó y lo siguió.

Mientras Jesús estaba a la mesa en casa de Leví, muchos publicanos y pecadores se sentaron a la mesa junto con Jesús y sus discípulos, porque eran muchos los que lo seguían. Entonces unos escribas de la secta de los fariseos, viéndolo comer con los pecadores y publicanos, preguntaron a sus discípulos: “¿Por qué su maestro come y bebe en compañía de publicanos y pecadores?”
Habiendo oído esto, Jesús les dijo: “No son los sanos los que tienen necesidad del médico, sino los enfermos. Yo no he venido para llamar a los justos, sino a los pecadores”.

GospelMK 2:13-17

Jesus went out along the sea.
All the crowd came to him and he taught them.
As he passed by, he saw Levi, son of Alphaeus,
sitting at the customs post.
Jesus said to him, “Follow me.”
And he got up and followed Jesus.
While he was at table in his house,
many tax collectors and sinners sat with Jesus and his disciples;
for there were many who followed him.
Some scribes who were Pharisees saw that Jesus was eating with sinners
and tax collectors and said to his disciples,
“Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
Jesus heard this and said to them,
“Those who are well do not need a physician, but the sick do.
I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.”

Meditacion:

Cómo consuelan las palabras de Jesús! “No he venido a llamar a los justos, sino a los pecadores.” Se ve en sus palabras, y se ve en sus gestos. En sus aproximaciones a la gente. En Jesús sí que no hay acepción de personas.

Para su tarea evangelizadora, para anunciar el Reino de Dios, llama a los que considera apropiados. Sabe mirar al corazón de cada hombre, despertar esa semilla del Reino que se encuentra dentro de cada uno. Y Mateo, un hombre que también estaba mal visto en su ambiente, acusado de colaborar, de repente ve que se le devuelve su dignidad de hijo de Dios. Un “apestado”, apóstol del reino.

La alegría de Mateo se contagia, y en la fiesta en la que celebra su elección, se le unen un montón de “apestados”. Que también se sienten llamados de nuevo a la vida. Y eso no les gusta a muchos. Que siempre andan pendientes de los demás, para criticar los hechos, o, si no pueden, criticar la intención. Y Jesús les cierra la boca con una respuesta contundente. Con unas palabras que cómo consuelan. Nos podemos sentir entre los enfermos, a los que el Maestro ha venido a buscar.

A lo largo de la semana, hemos visto a gente que venía buscando a Jesús, que eran llevados a la presencia de Jesús, y, al final, el mismo Jesús que viene al encuentro. En cada momento, en cada situación, en cada vuelta de la vida, Cristo está cerca. Necesitamos la fe, para verlo, para sentirlo presente en nuestras vidas. Esa fe que nos permite acercarnos a Él, para sentir su perdón, para que nos sintamos otra vez amigos de Dios. Es tu opción. De parte de Jesús la puerta está siempre abierta. La línea siempre está libre, para que hagas la llamada. Y la contraseña no es difícil, basta decir “Ayúdame”.

How they comfort the words of Jesus! “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” It is seen in his words, and seen in his gestures. In his approaches to people. In Jesus there is no meaning of people.

For his evangelizing task, to announce the Kingdom of God, call those he deems appropriate. He knows how to look at the heart of each man, to awaken that seed of the Kingdom that is within each one. And Matthew, a man who was also frowned upon in his environment, accused of collaborating, suddenly sees his dignity as a child of God restored. A "stinky" apostle of the kingdom.

Mateo's joy is spread, and at the party where he celebrates his election, he is joined by a lot of "stinkers." That they also feel called back to life. And many do not like that. That always they are pending of the others, to criticize the facts, or, if they cannot, criticize the intention. And Jesus closes their mouths with a blunt response. With some words that comfort. We can feel among the sick, whom the Master has come to look for.

Throughout the week, we have seen people who were looking for Jesus, who were brought to the presence of Jesus, and, in the end, the same Jesus who comes to meet. In every moment, in every situation, in every turn of life, Christ is near. We need faith, to see it, to feel it present in our lives. That faith that allows us to approach Him, to feel his forgiveness, so that we feel again friends of God. It's your choice. From Jesus the door is always open. The line is always free, so you can make the call. And the password is not difficult, just say "Help me".

Tus pecados te son perdonados

Mc 2, 1-12

Cuando Jesús volvió a Cafarnaúm, corrió la voz de que estaba en casa, y muy pronto se aglomeró tanta gente, que ya no había sitio frente a la puerta. Mientras él enseñaba su doctrina, le quisieron presentar a un paralítico, que iban cargando entre cuatro. Pero como no podían acercarse a Jesús por la cantidad de gente, quitaron parte del techo, encima de donde estaba Jesús, y por el agujero bajaron al enfermo en una camilla.

Viendo Jesús la fe de aquellos hombres, le dijo al paralítico: “Hijo, tus pecados te quedan perdonados”. Algunos escribas que estaban allí sentados comenzaron a pensar: “¿Por qué habla éste así? Eso es una blasfemia. ¿Quién puede perdonar los pecados sino sólo Dios?”

Conociendo Jesús lo que estaban pensando, les dijo: “¿Por qué piensan así? ¿Qué es más fácil, decirle al paralítico: ‘Tus pecados te son perdonados’ o decirle: ‘Levántate, recoge tu camilla y vete a tu casa’? Pues para que sepan que el Hijo del hombre tiene poder en la tierra para perdonar los pecados –le dijo al paralítico–: Yo te lo mando: levántate, recoge tu camilla y vete a tu casa”.

El hombre se levantó inmediatamente, recogió su camilla y salió de allí a la vista de todos, que se quedaron atónitos y daban gloria a Dios, diciendo: “¡Nunca habíamos visto cosa igual!”

GospelMK 2:1-12

When Jesus returned to Capernaum after some days,
it became known that he was at home.
Many gathered together so that there was no longer room for them,
not even around the door,
and he preached the word to them.
They came bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men.
Unable to get near Jesus because of the crowd,
they opened up the roof above him.
After they had broken through,
they let down the mat on which the paralytic was lying.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to him,
“Child, your sins are forgiven.”
Now some of the scribes were sitting there asking themselves,
“Why does this man speak that way?  He is blaspheming.
Who but God alone can forgive sins?”
Jesus immediately knew in his mind what
they were thinking to themselves,
so he said, “Why are you thinking such things in your hearts?
Which is easier, to say to the paralytic,
‘Your sins are forgiven,’
or to say, ‘Rise, pick up your mat and walk’?
But that you may know
that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth”
–he said to the paralytic,
“I say to you, rise, pick up your mat, and go home.”
He rose, picked up his mat at once,
and went away in the sight of everyone.
They were all astounded
and glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this.”

Meditacion:

Hoy meditamos de "La palabra entre nosotros"

Casi todos tenemos algo en común con el paralítico del Evangelio de hoy. San Pablo dice que todos hemos pecado y estamos privados de la gloria de Dios (Romanos 3, 23). Todos hemos preferido seguir nuestro propio camino en lugar del camino que nos muestra Aquel que nos creó y, por lo tanto, conspiramos contra nuestro propio bien (Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica 398). Lo que necesitamos es escuchar que Jesús nos diga: “Hijo, tus pecados te quedan perdonados” (Marcos 2, 5).

Sí, ¡tus pecados te son perdonados! Aunque lo que hayas hecho en tu vida sea grave, por las razones que sean, Jesús te perdona. Nunca se ha visto en el mundo una transformación mayor que sucede en una persona cuando sabe y declara que Dios la ha perdonado: ¡Claro! Ya no hay por qué seguir sintiéndose paralizado por el remordimiento ni la vergüenza. Si crees que eres demasiado débil o incapaz de servir a Dios, o incluso para seguirlo por el camino del bien, el Señor te puede fortalecer mediante la poderosa corriente de su misericordia y su gracia.

Sí, hermano, ¡tus pecados te son perdonados! Es Jesús quien lo ha hecho posible, gracias a su muerte en la cruz y su resurrección gloriosa. A él se le ha dado toda autoridad en el cielo y en la tierra, y ahora él te dice: “Hijo, tus pecados te quedan perdonados.”

Si nunca has oído que Jesús te dice estas maravillosas palabras, corre al Sacramento de la Reconciliación. Si es necesario, rompe el techo de la casa y baja tú mismo allí ante la presencia del Señor para que él te diga: “Hijo, tus pecados te quedan perdonados.”

Deja que el Espíritu Santo te muestre lo que Jesús quiere sanar en tu vida. Quizás la ira y el rencor, o los resentimientos y traumas del pasado, o bien malos hábitos o adicciones destructivas. Cualquiera sea tu situación, ya sea de salud física, emocional o espiritual, o las circunstancias por las que estés pasando, Cristo está contigo y quiere que confíes en él. No te cohíbas, porque él te ama, te sana y te dice: “Hijo, tus pecados te quedan perdonados.”

“Amado Señor, perdóname, te lo ruego. Cúrame, Señor, de todo lo que necesite sanar. Renueva mi vida, Señor, y ayúdame a comenzar de nuevo y dedicarme a vivir para ti.” Amen

Today we meditate on "The word among us"

Almost everyone has something in common with the paralytic of today's Gospel. St. Paul says that we have all sinned and are deprived of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). We have all preferred to follow our own path instead of the path that He who created us shows us and, therefore, we conspire against our own good (Catechism of the Catholic Church 398). What we need is to hear Jesus tell us: "Son, your sins are forgiven" (Mark 2, 5).

Yes, your sins are forgiven! Although what you have done in your life is serious, for whatever reasons, Jesus forgives you. There has never been a major transformation in the world that happens in a person when he knows and declares that God has forgiven him: There is no longer why to continue feeling paralyzed by remorse or shame. If you believe that you are too weak or unable to serve God, or even to follow him on the path of good, the Lord can strengthen you through the powerful current of his mercy and grace.

Yes, brother, your sins are forgiven! It is Jesus who has made it possible, thanks to his death on the cross and his glorious resurrection. He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth, and now he tells you: "Son, your sins are forgiven."

If you have never heard that Jesus tells you these wonderful words, run to the Sacrament of Reconciliation. If necessary, break the roof of the house and lower yourself there in the presence of the Lord for him to say: "Son, your sins are forgiven."

Let the Holy Spirit show you what Jesus wants to heal in your life. Perhaps anger and resentment, or resentments and traumas of the past, or bad habits or destructive addictions. Whatever your situation, whether of physical, emotional or spiritual health, or the circumstances you are going through, Christ is with you and wants you to trust him. Do not shy away, because he loves you, heals you and says: "Son, your sins are forgiven."

“Dear Lord, forgive me, I beg you. Heal me, Lord, of everything I need to heal. Renew my life, Lord, and help me to start over and dedicate myself to live for you. ”Amen

Leprosos y gracia

Mc 1, 40-45

En aquel tiempo, se le acercó a Jesús un leproso para suplicarle de rodillas: “Si tú quieres, puedes curarme”. Jesús se compadeció de él, y extendiendo la mano, lo tocó y le dijo: “¡Sí quiero: sana!” Inmediatamente se le quitó la lepra y quedó limpio.

Al despedirlo, Jesús le mandó con severidad: “No se lo cuentes a nadie; pero para que conste, ve a presentarte al sacerdote y ofrece por tu purificación lo prescrito por Moisés”.

Pero aquel hombre comenzó a divulgar tanto el hecho, que Jesús no podía ya entrar abiertamente en la ciudad, sino que se quedaba fuera, en lugares solitarios, a donde acudían a él de todas partes.

GospelMK 1:40-45

A leper came to him and kneeling down begged him and said,
“If you wish, you can make me clean.”
Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched the leper, and said to him,
“I do will it. Be made clean.”
The leprosy left him immediately, and he was made clean.
Then, warning him sternly, he dismissed him at once.
Then he said to him, “See that you tell no one anything,
but go, show yourself to the priest
and offer for your cleansing what Moses prescribed;
that will be proof for them.”
The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter.
He spread the report abroad
so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly.
He remained outside in deserted places,
and people kept coming to him from everywhere.

Meditacion:

Durante mis vacaciones en Colombia tuve la oportunidad de conocer un taxista misionero. El senor no hacia mucho, no buscaba convencerte pero en su taxi ponia musica religiosa, algun que otro videito (para irlo escuchando) y si se podia, entablaba una charla respetuosa respecto a la salvacion.

Me gusto mucho su respuesta cuando le prgunte para que creia que veniamos a este mundo "para ser santos" me respondio con seguridad y con una sonrisa. Y la verdad, me hizo el dia, me senti tocado por un milagro.

Encontrar alguien con ese nivel de convencimiento, misionero en cada uno de sus dias, poniendo a Dios en el centro de sus actividades, siendo consciente de que cada minuto hay que respirar la gracia, no es para nada comun.

Este taxista andaba por las calles de Bogota llevando gracia y consuelo para los pecadores con los que se cruzaba.

Igualmente, Jesus en el evangelio de hoy cura a un leproso luego de compadecerse y ver esa enorme fe del leproso que sabia que si Jesus queria, seria curado.

Nosotros hemos oído hablar de Jesús, sabemos mucho de Él – seguramente mucho más que aquel leproso – aunque a lo peor, no tenemos tanta fe. O no nos decidimos a pedirle a Cristo que nos libere. Pero lo más importante es que Jesús, como sintió lástima de aquel enfermo, siente también lástima por ti. Por cada uno de nosotros. Basta que nos acerquemos a nuestro Salvador con la esperanza de que Él lo puede todo. Y nos purifica, nos limpia, nos da la vida y nos devuelve la dignidad de hijos de Dios. Ahí radica la fuerza del sacramento de la Penitencia.

El ex leproso se dedicó a alabar a Jesús “con grandes ponderaciones”. Ojalá nosotros podamos ser testigos de la alegría, cada vez que recibimos el perdón, y que se note en nuestras vidas. Y, si hace mucho que no te confiesas, aprovecha la ocasión que nos da hoy la Liturgia para decirle a Jesús que, si quiere puede limpiarte. Seguro que quiere. Y siéntete limpio otra vez. Siempre se puede.

“Padre eterno, fortalece a los de fe débil; ayúdales a confiar que tú quieres lo mejor para ellos. Enséñanos a todos a vivir por fe, y recibir todo lo bueno que tienes para tus hijos.” Amen

During my vacation in Colombia I had the opportunity to meet a missionary taxi driver. The gentleman did not do much, he did not seek to convince you but in his taxi he played religious music, the occasional video (to listen to it) and if he could, he made a respectful talk about salvation.

I really liked his response when I asked him to believe that we were coming to this world "to be saints" he answered me safely and with a smile. And the truth, it made my day, I felt touched by a miracle.

Finding someone with that level of conviction, a missionary in each of his days, putting God at the center of his activities, being aware that every minute you have to breathe grace, is not at all common.

This taxi driver walked the streets of Bogota, bringing grace and comfort to the sinners he crossed.

Likewise, Jesus in today's Gospel heals a leper after pitying and seeing that enormous faith of the leper who knew that if Jesus wanted, he would be healed.

We have heard of Jesus, we know a lot about Him - surely much more than that leper - although at worst, we don't have so much faith. Or we don't decide to ask Christ to set us free. But the most important thing is that Jesus, as he felt sorry for that sick man, also feels sorry for you. For each one of us. It is enough that we approach our Savior in the hope that He can do everything. And it purifies us, cleanses us, gives us life and gives us back the dignity of God's children. Therein lies the strength of the sacrament of Penance.

The former leper dedicated himself to praising Jesus "with great weights." Hopefully we can witness joy, every time we receive forgiveness, and it shows in our lives. And, if you have not confessed for a long time, take advantage of the occasion that the Liturgy gives us today to tell Jesus that, if he wants, he can cleanse you. Surely he wants. And feel clean again. It's always possible.

“Eternal Father, strengthen those of weak faith; Help them to trust that you want the best for them. Teach us all to live by faith, and receive all the good you have for your children. ”Amen

Un dia con Jesus

Mc 1, 29-39

En aquel tiempo, al salir Jesús de la sinagoga, fue con Santiago y Juan a casa de Simón y Andrés. La suegra de Simón estaba en cama, con fiebre, y enseguida le avisaron a Jesús. Él se le acercó, y tomándola de la mano, la levantó. En ese momento se le quitó la fiebre y se puso a servirles.

Al atardecer, cuando el sol se ponía, le llevaron a todos los enfermos y poseídos del demonio, y todo el pueblo se apiñó junto a la puerta. Curó a muchos enfermos de diversos males y expulsó a muchos demonios, pero no dejó que los demonios hablaran, porque sabían quién era él.

De madrugada, cuando todavía estaba muy oscuro, Jesús se levantó, salió y se fue a un lugar solitario, donde se puso a orar. Simón y sus compañeros lo fueron a buscar, y al encontrarlo, le dijeron: “Todos te andan buscando”. Él les dijo: “Vamos a los pueblos cercanos para predicar también allá el Evangelio, pues para eso he venido”. Y recorrió toda Galilea, predicando en las sinagogas y expulsando a los demonios.

GospelMK 1:29-39

On leaving the synagogue
Jesus entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John.
Simon’s mother-in-law lay sick with a fever.
They immediately told him about her.
He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up.
Then the fever left her and she waited on them.

When it was evening, after sunset,
they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by demons.
The whole town was gathered at the door.
He cured many who were sick with various diseases,
and he drove out many demons,
not permitting them to speak because they knew him.

Rising very early before dawn,
he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed.
Simon and those who were with him pursued him
and on finding him said, “Everyone is looking for you.”
He told them, “Let us go on to the nearby villages
that I may preach there also.
 
For this purpose have I come.”
So he went into their synagogues, preaching and driving out demons
throughout the whole of Galilee.

Meditacion:

La Liturgia hoy nos propone como modelo un día de Jesús. Y es muy completito. Siempre cerca de los pobres, en este caso, de los enfermos. Primero la suegra de Pedro, y luego todos los del lugar. De la suegra de Pedro, además, se nos dice que “se puso a servirles”. Recuperada de su fiebre, se siente con fuerzas y alimenta agradecida a su Sanador. Nosotros podemos también, cuando Jesús nos libera de nuestra “fiebre espiritual”, del pecado, ponernos a servir a los demás, sobre todo a los más cercanos.

Más tarde, cuando todavía está oscuro, en la soledad de la noche, Jesús se aparta a una zona tranquila, para hablar con su Padre, y encomendarle todas las necesidades con las que se había encontrado en ese lugar. Y pedirle fuerzas, quizá quejarse porque hay muchos escépticos, solicitar que el tiempo y los caminos le fueran propicios… Todo lo que se le dice a un Padre, a un amigo, mientras se habla con Él. Porque eso es la oración. Nosotros podemos también hablar cada día con nuestro Padre, contarle nuestras cosas, pedirle, llorarle, agradecerle, simplemente contemplarle y dejarnos acariciar por su amor.

Y, después del reposo y de la oración, a seguir predicando. “Que para eso he salido”. A encontrarse con los que le buscan, y a buscar a los que no quieren encontrarse con Él. Habrá momentos mejores y peores, gente que se convenza y gente que diga que no les interesa. Jesús se reirá y llorará con la gente; mirará casi siempre con amor, y, algunas veces, con algo de ira; se dejará el corazón y las fuerzas en cada momento, cada día y cada minuto. Nosotros también podemos ponernos en camino, predicar con las palabras y con las obras. Ser testigos, aguantar lo que nos venga y ponerlo todo en las manos de Dios, sabiendo que todo depende de Él, trabajando como si todo dependiera de nosotros.

“Señor mío Jesucristo, renueva y sana mi espíritu quebrantado. Te acepto como Señor de mi vida, y te proclamo como mi Dios y mi Salvador.” Amen

Endemoniados

Mc 1, 21-28

En aquel tiempo, se hallaba Jesús en Cafarnaúm y el sábado fue a la sinagoga y se puso a enseñar. Los oyentes quedaron asombrados de sus palabras, pues enseñaba como quien tiene autoridad y no como los escribas.

Había en la sinagoga un hombre poseído por un espíritu inmundo, que se puso a gritar: “¿Qué quieres tú con nosotros, Jesús de Nazaret? ¿Has venido a acabar con nosotros? Ya sé quién eres: el Santo de Dios”. Jesús le ordenó: “¡Cállate y sal de él!” El espíritu inmundo, sacudiendo al hombre con violencia y dando un alarido, salió de él. Todos quedaron estupefactos y se preguntaban: “¿Qué es esto? ¿Qué nueva doctrina es ésta? Este hombre tiene autoridad para mandar hasta a los espíritus inmundos y lo obedecen”. Y muy pronto se extendió su fama por toda Galilea.

GospelMK 1:21-28

Jesus came to Capernaum with his followers,
and on the sabbath he entered the synagogue and taught.
The people were astonished at his teaching,
for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.
In their synagogue was a man with an unclean spirit;
he cried out, “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth?
Have you come to destroy us?
I know who you are–the Holy One of God!”
Jesus rebuked him and said, “Quiet!  Come out of him!”
The unclean spirit convulsed him and with a loud cry came out of him.
 
All were amazed and asked one another,
 “What is this?
A new teaching with authority.
He commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him.”
His fame spread everywhere throughout the whole region of Galilee.

Meditacion:

Meditando este evangelio, me acorde del pasaje cuando Jesus le dice a Pedro que se aparte de El porque lo estaba tentando.

Logicamente, no es que Pedro estuviera poseido como el hombre de hoy dia, pero si, el demonio lo estaba usando como herramienta.

Creo que todos hemos sido a veces tentados por el demonio, o, conciente o inconcientemente, hemos sido una herramienta en sus manos sin darnos cuenta o a veces, de una manera intencional.

Cada vez que propago chismes sobre otros, cada vez que le deseo el mal a alguien, cada vez que intencionalmente hago algo que perjudicara a otra persona, estoy siendo un instrumento util al mal.

Entonces, ¿cómo podemos protegernos contra sus tácticas?

Antes que nada, debemos tratar por todos los medios de aceptar y practicar lo que nos enseña el Señor. Por supuesto, siempre podemos pedirle que nos ayude a entender u obedecer sus mandatos, pero continuamente debemos tratar de mantener una actitud de confianza y humildad.

En segundo lugar, tenemos que ponernos la “armadura de Dios” (Efesios 6, 11). Cuando te despiertes por la mañana, pídele al Señor que te proteja a ti y a toda tu familia. Y puedes orar con autoridad diciendo: “En el nombre de Jesús, yo te mando, Satanás, que vayas a la cruz, donde Jesús te derrotó.”

Tercero, escudriña atentamente la Palabra de Dios leyendo la Sagrada Escritura y meditando en ella al menos cinco minutos cada día, y ve a Misa lo más frecuentemente que puedas y recibe a Jesús en la Santa Comunión tan a menudo como puedas.

Por último, recuerda siempre que Jesús, que vive en ti, es más fuerte que el diablo (1 Juan 4, 4).

“Señor mío Jesucristo, enséñame a mantenerme firme en la fe y resistir las tentaciones del maligno.” Amen

Meditating on this gospel, I remembered the passage when Jesus tells Peter to turn away from Him because he was tempting him.

Logically, it is not that Peter was possessed as the man of today, but yes, the devil was using him as a tool.

I think everyone has sometimes been tempted by the devil, or, consciously or unconsciously, have been a tool in your hands without realizing or sometimes an intentional manner.

Whenever propagate gossip about others, whenever I wish someone evil, whenever you intentionally do something to harm someone else, I'm being a useful tool to evil.

So how can we protect ourselves against their tactics?

First of all, we must try by all means to accept and practice what the Lord teaches us. Of course, we can always ask you to help us understand or obey your mandates, but we must continually try to maintain an attitude of trust and humility.

Second, we have to put on the “armor of God” (Ephesians 6, 11). When you wake up in the morning, ask the Lord to protect you and your whole family. And you can pray with authority saying: "In the name of Jesus, I command you, Satan, you go to the cross, where Jesus defeated you."

Third, carefully scrutinize the Word of God by reading Holy Scripture and meditating on it for at least five minutes every day, and go to Mass as often as you can and receive Jesus in Holy Communion as often as you can.

Finally, always remember that Jesus, who lives in you, is stronger than the devil (1 John 4, 4).

"My Lord Jesus Christ, teach me to stand firm in the faith and resist the temptations of the evil one." Amen

Pescadores de hombres

Mc 1, 14-20

Después de que arrestaron a Juan el Bautista, Jesús se fue a Galilea para predicar el Evangelio de Dios y decía: “Se ha cumplido el tiempo y el Reino de Dios ya está cerca. Arrepintanse y crean en el Evangelio”.

Caminaba Jesús por la orilla del lago de Galilea, cuando vio a Simón y a su hermano, Andrés, echando las redes en el lago, pues eran pescadores. Jesús les dijo: “Síganme y haré de ustedes pescadores de hombres”. Inmediatamente dejaron las redes y lo siguieron.

Un poco más adelante, vio a Santiago y a Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, que estaban en una barca, remendando sus redes. Los llamó, y ellos, dejando en la barca a su padre con los trabajadores, se fueron con Jesús.

Then they left their nets and followed him.

Meditacion:

Con el bautismo de Jesus cerramos el tiempo de Navidad y comenzamos a transitar un corto tiempo ordinario.

Del bautismo de ayer a Jesus invitando a nuevos discipulos hay un dia y sin embargo, hay entre estas dos lecturas un mundo de diferencia.

La llamada de Jesus a ser "pescadores de hombres" no se acaba en los discipulos, es una llamada personal, de cada dia, a seguir extendiendola, a vivirla profundamente en nuestro diario hacer.

Jesus no murio, Jesus sigue actuando aqui y ahora, y es nuestro deber como cristianos el seguir reflejando esa verdad.

Desde el mismo comienzo de su predicación, Jesús estuvo cerca de la gente. ¿Cómo llevó a cabo su misión? Hablando del Reino de Dios, del amor del padre hacia todos, por un lado, y curando a los enfermos por otro. Palabras y hechos. Palabras de apertura a todos, y hechos que confirman esas palabras.

Jesús ve que esa misión debe implicar a otras personas. Porque el Reino no es cosa de unos pocos, sino de todos. Y por ello llama a algunas personas, de esas que se vieron interpeladas por su Palabra, para que le acompañen. “Pescadores de hombres”, les dice. Porque había mucha desorientación, mucha oscuridad. Y la Luz, que se apareció a los hombres en Belén, se extendió por todas partes.

Muchos se vieron convencidos por lo que Jesús decía y hacía. Otros – cada uno es libre – no lo recibieron. Pero por Jesús no queda. Él y sus compañeros se van a lanzar a la aventura que han recibido del Padre.

No solo en los tiempos de Jesús la tarea era difícil. Hoy también. Sigue habiendo desorientación y oscuridad. Siguen haciendo falta muchos obreros para el ancho mundo de Dios. Aunque no sea jueves, podemos rezar por las vocaciones a la vida consagrada y al sacerdocio. Para que siga habiendo personas que anuncien la Palabra. Por todo el mundo. Y tú mismo, en tu condición, puedes hacer tu aporte a la tarea evangelizadora. No lo dejes para mañana.

“Señor Jesús, me entrego a ti y te pido que me sanes. Te recibo en mi corazón y te doy el ‘sí’ a tu invitación a seguirte y a traer a otros para que te conozcan, te amen y te sirvan.” Amen

With the baptism of Jesus, we close Christmas time and begin to go through a short ordinary time.

From yesterday's baptism to Jesus inviting new disciples there is one day and yet there is between these two readings a world of difference.

Jesus' call to be "fishers of men" does not end in the disciples, it is a personal call, every day, to continue extending it, to live it deeply in our daily doing.

Jesus did not die, Jesus continues to act here and now, and it is our duty as Christians to continue to reflect that truth.

From the very beginning of his preaching, Jesus was close to the people. How did you carry out your mission? Speaking of the Kingdom of God, of the father's love for all, on the one hand, and healing the sick on the other. Words and deeds Opening words to all, and facts that confirm those words.

Jesus sees that mission must involve other people. Because the Kingdom is not something of a few, but of all. And so he calls some people, of those who were questioned by his Word, to accompany him. Ciegos

Lc 5, 12-16

En aquel tiempo, estando Jesús en un poblado, llegó un leproso, y al ver a Jesús, se postró rostro en tierra, diciendo: “Señor, si quieres, puedes curarme”. Jesús extendió la mano y lo tocó, diciendo: “Quiero. Queda limpio”. Y al momento desapareció la lepra. Entonces Jesús le ordenó que no lo dijera a nadie y añadió: “Ve, preséntate al sacerdote y ofrece por tu purificación lo que Moisés prescribió. Eso les servirá de testimonio”.

Y su fama se extendía más y más. Las muchedumbres acudían a oírlo y a ser curados de sus enfermedades. Pero Jesús se retiraba a lugares solitarios para orar.

GospelLK 5:12-16

It happened that there was a man full of leprosy in one of the towns where Jesus was;
and when he saw Jesus,
he fell prostrate, pleaded with him, and said,
“Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.”
Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him, and said,
“I do will it.  Be made clean.”
And the leprosy left him immediately.
Then he ordered him not to tell anyone, but
“Go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing
what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.”
The report about him spread all the more,
and great crowds assembled to listen to him
and to be cured of their ailments,
but he would withdraw to deserted places to pray.

Meditacion:

Volviendo de mis vacaciones, retornamos a la buena costumbre de las meditaciones del Evangelio diario mis amigos.

Aun estamos en "tiempo de Navidad" hasta este domingo que comenzaremos otro tiempo ordinario.

El evangelio de hoy nos presenta un ciego muy particular, un ciego que tenia la fe de creer que Jesus podia curarlo.

Y Jesus lo cura, reafirmando su deseo "quiero, quedas curado" y a continuacion le dice que vaya ante el sacerdote del templo y ofrezca una purificacion.

Cuando muchas veces recibimos milagros de Dios, cuando nos va bien, cuando todo parece encaminado nos acordamos de ir a la Parroquia y dar gracias frente al Santisimo?

Y cuando tenemos problemas, cuando estamos ciegos por nuestras preocupaciones y problemas.. nos acordamos de ponerlas en manos de Dios para que las resuelva?

Si Dios pudo sanar ciegos, expulsar demonios, resucitar muertos... creen ustedes que no puede resolver cualquier problema que tengamos?

Pero el punto es que debemos ser agradecidos y si recibimos la gracia de ver resueltos nuestros problemas, debemos, a nuestra vez, compartir esa gracias con los demas... ayudando, dando de lo que tenemos, cambiando nuestro corazon.

Hermanos, esta es la ultima semana de Navidad; antes de comenzar un tiempo ordinario, miremos al pesebre y sepamos reconocer con sinceridad las ayudas de nuestro Padre en el Cielo y pongamos en sus manos nuestras intenciones para este año.

"Señor Dios, te agradezco los favores recibidos el pasado año y te pido sigas iluminandome para caminar en tu gracias cada dia de este nuevo año" Amen

Returning from my vacation, we return to the good habit of the daily Gospel meditations my friends.

We are still in "Christmas time" until this Sunday that we will begin another ordinary time.

Today's Gospel presents us with a very particular blind man, a blind man who had the faith to believe that Jesus could heal him.

And Jesus heals him, reaffirming his desire "I want, you are healed" and then tells him to go before the temple priest and offer a purification.

When we often receive miracles from God, when we are doing well, when everything seems on track do we remember to go to the Parish and give thanks in front of the Blessed One?

And when we have problems, when we are blind because of our worries and problems .. do we remember to put them in God's hands to solve them?

If God could heal the blind, drive out demons, raise the dead ... do you think he can't solve any problem we have?

But the point is that we must be grateful and if we receive the grace to see our problems resolved, we must, in turn, share that thanks with others ... helping, giving what we have, changing our hearts.

Brothers, this is the last week of Christmas; Before starting an ordinary time, let's look at the manger and know how to sincerely acknowledge the help of our Father in Heaven and put into our hands our intentions for this year.
