Amense los unos a los otros....

Jn 15, 12-17

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Éste es mi mandamiento: que se amen los unos a los otros como yo los he amado. Nadie tiene amor más grande a sus amigos que el que da la vida por ellos. Ustedes son mis amigos, si hacen lo que yo les mando. Ya no los llamo siervos, porque el siervo no sabe lo que hace su amo; a ustedes los llamo amigos, porque les he dado a conocer todo lo que le he oído a mi Padre.

Meditacion:

Hoy, despues de toda una semana en el que el evangelio nos hablo del amor de Dios, finalmente Jesus nos da el mandamiento mas importante: amarse los unos a los otros como yo los he amado.

Fijense y es muy importante que no sectoriza, no dice "amen solo a los latinos" o "amense solo entre catolicos" o "no amen a las personas homosexuales"... no, lo dice bien clarito, amen a todo el mundo, consideren a todo el mundo su hermano.

Y despues dice algo aun mas interesante "No son ustedes los que me han elegido, soy yo quien los ha elegido y los ha destinado para que vayan y den fruto y su fruto permanezca, de modo que el Padre les conceda cuanto le pidan en mi nombre. Esto es lo que les mando: que se amen los unos a los otros''. Por eso en la primera carta de Pedro (1 Pedro 1:2) dice "Elegidos según la presciencia de Dios Padre en santificación del Espíritu, para obedecer y ser rociados con la sangre de Jesucristo: Gracia y paz os sea multiplicada"

Que Padre no quiere ayudar a sus hijos? Pero para un padre ver que sus hijos se pelean o no se aceptan o causan divisiones entre ellos no es bueno, no es a lo que hemos sido llamados.

Cuando Jesús nos dice “que se amen unos a otros como yo los he amado a ustedes”, nos está mandando que hagamos lo mismo que él hace. Nos habla como a una comunidad de creyentes, para que tratemos a los demás como amigos, tal como él trata a sus discípulos. Este mandamiento del amor impregna las palabras de Cristo acerca de dar fruto duradero, de manera que, si aprendemos a amar en forma individual y como comunidad, podemos dar un fruto bueno y duradero.

Si queremos que nuestra propia vida y las comunidades parroquiales a las que pertenecemos produzcan frutos que permanezcan, debemos reconocer que estas palabras son vitales. Pidámosle al Señor que nos muestre en qué hemos faltado al amor al prójimo y nos conceda valor y convicción para caminar por la vía del amor.

“Señor Jesús, enséñame a amar como tú amas. Que tu gracia me ayude a reconocer mis faltas de amor y arrepentirme de corazón, de manera que mi vida se transforme.” Amen

Como el Padre me ama...

Jn 15, 9-11

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: “Como el Padre me ama, así los amo yo. Permanezcan en mi amor. Si cumplen mis mandamientos, permanecen en mi amor; lo mismo que yo cumplo los mandamientos de mi Padre y permanezco en su amor. Les he dicho esto para que mi alegría esté en ustedes y su alegría sea plena”.

Meditacion:

Hoy el evangelio nos habla de permanecer en el amor.

Y la verdad que muchas veces entre nuestra vida diaria, el trabajo, la familia y todo lo que nos rodea, hay poco tiempo para permanecer en el amor.

Es como si Jesus nos quedara lejos, relegado a los "domingos de misa" y el resto de la semana, lo guardamos y ni lo miramos.

Cuando uno esta enamorado, una alegria sincera nos llena y vemos todo de color rosa. Imaginense si nos enamoraramos de Dios de la misma manera que nos enamoramos de una persona!

Jesús dijo: “Yo los amo a ustedes como el Padre me ama a mí” (Juan 15, 9). Para comprender más cabalmente el amor que Dios nos tiene, es esencial entender el amor que el Padre le tiene a su Hijo, porque es el mismo amor. El amor de Dios a su Hijo es eterno, no comenzó con la encarnación de Cristo ni terminó con su crucifixión. Jesús estuvo con el Padre desde el principio y es el primer objeto de su amor. Por consiguiente, cuando Jesús nos dice que nos ama, su amor no está limitado por el espacio ni por el tiempo, es también eterno.

Cuando el amor de Jesús se hace presente en la vida del creyente, derrite la frialdad, ablanda la dureza y nos hace amarlo de corazón, al punto de hacernos conocer su voluntad y obedecer sus mandatos, pues cuando lo hacemos experimentamos más profundamente aún su maravilloso amor (Juan 15, 10).

“Abre mis ojos espirituales, Señor mío Jesucristo, y ayúdame a ver que tus planes y tu proceder son más excelentes y eficaces que las ideas imperfectas y los deseos egoístas que yo tengo.” Amen

Yo soy la vid...

Jn 15, 1-8

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Yo soy la verdadera vid y mi Padre es el viñador. Al sarmiento que no da fruto en mí, él lo arranca, y al que da fruto lo poda para que dé más fruto.

Ustedes ya están purificados por las palabras que les he dicho. Permanezcan en mí y yo en ustedes. Como el sarmiento no puede dar fruto por sí mismo, si no permanece en la vid, así tampoco ustedes, si no permanecen en mí. Yo soy la vid, ustedes los sarmientos; el que permanece en mí y yo en él, ése da fruto abundante, porque sin mí nada pueden hacer. Meditacion:

Es interesante la comparación que nos hace el Señor: Él es la vid (es decir, el tronco) y nosotros las ramas, o sarmientos, porque es en las ramas, no en el tronco, donde se dan los frutos. El Padre celestial quiere que todos estemos bien injertados en el tronco de la vid, es decir, en Jesús mismo, para que sigamos creciendo y dando buen fruto.

Pero el pensamiento de permanecer en Cristo a veces nos lleva a dudar, porque sabemos que es fácil desviarse del camino recto y quedarse enredado en el pasado. Las amenazas contra la fe parecen tan grandes cuando pensamos en ellas, que a veces nos sentimos derrotados incluso antes de levantarnos por la mañana.

Pero ¡calma! Si te parece que permanecer en Cristo te está significando demasiada presión, recuerda que Dios mismo es el viñador que cuida la vid. Déjate cuidar por él. Recuerda, también, que tú ya estás en Cristo en virtud del Bautismo. Piensa que Dios te ayuda a permanecer en Cristo de muchas maneras.

Cada vez que recibes la Sagrada Eucaristía, es Cristo mismo, la vid verdadera, quien te está alimentando. Cada acto de arrepentimiento que realices y cada confesión sacramental que hagas es una experiencia de “poda”. En la Confirmación, el Espíritu ha sido desencadenado en tu vida con toda su fuerza santificadora, y en las Órdenes Sagradas o en el Matrimonio, tú has invitado al Espíritu a comunicarte su poder y asegurar tu vocación en la vida.

Además, el Señor te ha dado su palabra en las Escrituras y también te ha dado hermanos y hermanas en la iglesia. Te ha dado, además, la voz de la conciencia, y naturalmente el mayor de todos los dones: el propio Espíritu Santo que habita en ti. Finalmente, te ha dado la belleza de la creación, que te hace elevar el corazón y la mente a Cristo y reforzar tu fe.

Así que ¡no te aflijas! Jesús, el viñador, te está cuidando. Piensa en la savia vivificante que fluye del tronco a las ramas del árbol. Mientras los conductos estén abiertos, la savia fluye y el árbol no tiene de qué preocuparse. Recibe la abundante provisión que Dios tiene para ti, porque él te ama y se preocupa de ti.

La paz les dejo

Jn 14, 27-31

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "La paz les dejo, mi paz les doy. No se la doy como la da el mundo. No pierdan la paz ni se acobarden. Me han oído decir: 'Me voy, pero volveré a su lado'. Si me amaran, se alegrarían de que me vaya al Padre, porque el Padre es más que yo. Se lo he dicho ahora, antes de que suceda, para que cuando suceda, crean.

Ya no hablaré muchas cosas con ustedes, porque se acerca el príncipe de este mundo; no es que él tenga poder sobre mí, pero es necesario que el mundo sepa que amo al Padre y que cumplo exactamente lo que el Padre me ha mandado''.

Meditacion:

En la primera lectura de estos dias, se narra los viajes de San Pablo con Bernabe y las cosas que les pasa. Para el que nunca leyo el Libro de Hechos de los Apostoles, se los sugiero. Esta lleno de aventura y cosas interesantes (y a veces incluso insolitas) que le pasan a los apostoles. 

Por ejemplo, ayer los tomaron por dioses humanos en una ciudad y querian ofrecerles sacrificios; hoy, a Pablo lo apedrean y lo dejan casi muerto.

No pude mas que sonreir ante la perspectiva de un dia ser el mejor de todos, un semidios con forma humana y al dia siguiente, te anden persiguiendo para matarte... 

Sin embargo, incluso con la gracia de Dios, la tarea de difundir el Evangelio rara vez fue fácil. En Listra, Pablo había sido apedreado y dejado por muerto (Hechos 14, 19), pero luego se levantó y volvió a la ciudad. Con ese mismo espíritu de perseverancia, regresó a las ciudades donde ya había sembrado la semilla del Evangelio. Lo que quería era fortalecer “los ánimos de los discípulos, exhortándolos a permanecer fieles” y designar “ancianos en cada iglesia” (Hechos 14, 22. 23). A pesar de que los obstáculos que encontraba en su trabajo misionero eran enormes, el apóstol no se desanimó ni se intimidó, sino que cumplió cabalmente la misión que Dios le había encargado, predicando la palabra audazmente y nombrando ancianos en las iglesias que establecía.

Pero no fue solo el empeño humano lo que le permitió a Pablo perseverar; él sabía que no tenía fuerzas propias para semejante obra y por eso, con fe, decía: “Así pues, muy a gusto me gloriaré todavía en mis debilidades, a fin de que resida en mí el poder de Cristo” (2 Corintios 12, 9). Pablo y los primeros cristianos confiaban en el poder de Dios para anunciar la buena nueva, disponiéndose a recibirlo en la oración y el ayuno (Hechos 14, 23), y reconocían que tenían que depender de Dios para cumplir su cometido. Al hacerlo, la gracia de Dios se derramaba, fortaleciéndolos, abriéndoles las puertas y transformando el corazón de las personas.

“Señor Jesús, ayúdame a perseverar en la tarea de compartir la buena nueva de la salvación. Hazme comprender la importancia de confiar en ti para estar realmente dispuesto a recibir la gracia que viene del cielo.” Amen

But it was not only human endeavor that allowed Paul to persevere; He knew that he had no strength of his own for such a work and that is why, in faith, he said: "Therefore, I will be glad to glory in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me" (2 Corinthians 12, 9). Paul and the early Christians trusted in the power of God to announce the good news, preparing to receive it in prayer and fasting (Acts 14, 23), and recognized that they had to depend on God to fulfill their mission. In doing so, the grace of God was poured out, strengthening them, opening the doors and transforming the hearts of the people.

El que me ama....

Jn 14, 21-26

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "El que acepta mis mandamientos y los cumple, ése me ama. Al que me ama a mí, lo amará mi Padre, yo también lo amaré y me manifestaré a él".

Entonces le dijo Judas (no el Iscariote): "Señor, ¿por qué razón a nosotros sí te nos vas a manifestar y al mundo no?" Le respondió Jesús: "El que me ama, cumplirá mi palabra y mi Padre lo amará y vendremos a él y haremos en él nuestra morada. El que no me ama no cumplirá mis palabras. Y la palabra que están oyendo no es mía, sino del Padre, que me envió.

Les he hablado de esto ahora que estoy con ustedes; pero el Paráclito, el Espíritu Santo que mi Padre les enviará en mi nombre, les enseñará todas las cosas y les recordará todo cuanto yo les he dicho''.

GospelJN 14:21-26

"Whoever has my commandments and observes them

Meditacion:

Feliz lunes para todos! Comienza una nueva semana y meditamos este evangelio de hoy que habla de promesas de amor.

"El que acepta mis mandamientos y los cumple, ése me ama. Al que me ama a mí, lo amará mi Padre, yo también lo amaré y me manifestaré a él" dice Jesus para luego agregar "El que me ama, cumplirá mi palabra y mi Padre lo amará y vendremos a él y haremos en él nuestra morada" y termina "Les he hablado de esto ahora que estoy con ustedes; pero el Paráclito, el Espíritu Santo que mi Padre les enviará en mi nombre, les enseñará todas las cosas y les recordará todo cuanto yo les he dicho''.

Creo que en estas tres frases se condensa lo mas jugoso de la relacion entre nosotros y Dios.

Fijense que no dice "cumplan mis mandamientos" dice amenme y luego cumplan mis mandamientos.

Es igual que cuando nos enamoramos y nos encontramos en esa situacion de ansiedad por la que somos capaces de cumplir y hacer cualquier cosa por la persona que amamos. Dios esta en una situacion de enamoramiento constante con su creacion, la humanidad.  Y esta en nosotros corresponder a ese amor, amando primero (porque como dice el dicho amor con amor se paga) y cumpliendo sus mandamientos. 

Y luego, al final y como respuesta a una pregunta del apostol Judas agrega algo muy importante nos deja el Espiritu Santo que nos guie y nos enseñe. Jesus resucito y se fue en su forma humana pero el Espiritu Santo sigue cada dia, cada hora con nosotros.

Y es por eso mis queridos hermanos que es tan importante bendecir toda nuestra vida... nuestro trabajo, nuestras familias, las personas que conocemos y las que no. Cuanto mas bendecimos, mas facilitamos el trabajo del Espiritu Santo.

Y entonces esa alegria sana y duradera que vemos en los que ya se han decidido vivir de esa manera se manifestara en nosotros porque estaremos amando al que nos ama, bendiciendo al que nos rodea y haciendo la obra de Dios de una forma natural.

“Padre celestial, gracias por habitar en mi corazón. Tengo un gran deseo de ver los milagros que harás hoy en mi vida.” Amen

God is in a situation of constant infatuation with his creation, humanity. And it is in us to correspond to that love, loving first (because as the saying says love with love is paid) and fulfilling its commandments.

And then, in the end and in response to a question from the apostle Judas adds something very important that the Holy Spirit lets us guide and teach us. Jesus rose and went in his human form but the Holy Spirit continues every day, every hour with us.

Los tres pasos

Jn 14, 7-14

En aquel tiempo, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos: "Si ustedes me conocen a mí, conocen también a mi Padre. Ya desde ahora lo conocen y lo han visto".

Le dijo Felipe: "Señor, muéstranos al Padre y eso nos basta". Jesús le replicó: "Felipe, tanto tiempo hace que estoy con ustedes, ¿y todavía no me conoces? Quien me ve a mí, ve al Padre. ¿Entonces por qué dices: 'Muéstranos al Padre'? ¿O no crees que yo estoy en el Padre y que el Padre está en mí? Meditacion:

Hoy sabado la verdad que la primera lectura esta muy interesante. Muestra como San Pablo y Bernabe son expulsados de la ciudad de Antioquia por los judios al ver cuantos paganos se convertian.

Y me dejo pensando... esta semana ha sido particularmente larga y complicada, con muchisimas cosas que hacer.

¿Alguna vez te ha pasado que te esfuerzas por hacer aquello que crees que Dios quiere que hagas, pero las cosas no salen como tú esperabas? Te ofreces para rezar para que un compañero de trabajo sane de su enfermedad, pero él rechaza tu oferta, o te involucras en un ministerio de la parroquia solo para descubrir que tu ayuda no es necesaria; o, a pesar de tu insistente oración, un familiar que se ha alejado de la fe no te devuelve las llamadas.

Hasta los apóstoles Pablo y Bernabé se encontraron con decepciones en sus viajes. Sin embargo, en vez de dejarse vencer por la frustración o el desánimo, “se sacudieron el polvo de los pies” y siguieron adelante. Esto podría parecer un gesto de censura, pero en realidad es mejor verlo como una forma de alejarse de una situación inestable. En vez de quedarse atascados en un conflicto infructuoso, encomendaron a la gente a Dios y se fueron al próximo pueblo.

¿De qué modo podríamos nosotros sacudirnos el polvo? Después de todo, ¡no siempre podemos irnos a otro pueblo! Tengo tres sugerencias:

La primera, perdona. Permite que la misericordia de Dios cubra el pasado. No dejes que el resentimiento o el disgusto te dominen; más bien, confía en que Dios tomará el control de cualquier situación que tú no puedas resolver.

Segundo, no revivas el pasado. Asegúrate de no repasar la situación en tu mente una y otra vez. La has dejado en las manos del Señor y ahora eres libre de dar el siguiente paso.

Tercero, avanza. ¿Qué te está pidiendo Dios ahora? Tal vez quiere mostrarte un camino distinto. Tal vez tú necesitas alejarte de la situación para renovar tu mente y permitir que el Señor actúe.

Reflexiona por un momento en alguna decepción que hayas sufrido recientemente y aplica estos tres pasos. Perdona, no revivas el pasado y avanza; pero siempre con un espíritu de paciencia y amor. Recuerda que, al igual que Pablo y Bernabé, tu cometido es sembrar las semillas y Dios se encarga de hacerlas crecer. Algunas semillas necesitan tiempo, otras permanecen bajo la tierra por años antes de germinar y crecer. Sigue rezando y confía en que el Señor llevará a cabo su obra según su sabiduría y a su tiempo.

“Señor, ayúdame a sacudirme el polvo del resentimiento, la decepción y la frustración. Amado Jesús, confío en que tú harás tu obra a tu tiempo.” Amen

Even the apostles Paul and Barnabas met disappointments in their travels. However, instead of letting themselves be overcome by frustration or discouragement, they "brushed the dust off their feet" and moved on. This might seem like a gesture of censure, but in reality it is better to see it as a way to get away from an unstable situation. Instead of getting stuck in an unsuccessful conflict, they entrusted the people to God and went to the next town.

In what way could we dust ourselves? After all, we can not always go to another town! I have three suggestions:

The first, forgive. Let the mercy of God cover the past. Do not let resentment or disgust dominate you; rather, trust that God will take control of any situation that you can not solve.

Second, do not relive the past. Make sure you do not go over the situation in your mind over and over again. You have left it in the hands of the Lord and now you are free to take the next step.

Third, advance. What is God asking you now? Maybe he wants to show you a different path. Maybe you need to get away from the situation to renew your mind and allow the Lord to act.

Reflect for a moment on some disappointment that you have recently suffered and apply these three steps. Sorry, do not relive the past and move forward; but always with a spirit of patience and love. Remember that, like Paul and Barnabas, your task is to sow the seeds and God is responsible for making them grow. Some seeds need time, others remain underground for years before germinating and growing. Keep praying and trust that the Lord will carry out his work according to his wisdom and in time.
